hi sad_plan
<sewn>
vova: no who is wael
<sad_plan>
hi sewn
<sad_plan>
whyd you switch to alpine though?
<sewn>
I was using kiss for a year and heard so many things about alpine during that period
<sewn>
what got me to switch is simply the packaging format being the beat format I've ever seen in a distro by far
<sewn>
also the init scripts are ones I wish I had on kiss (like uevent/udhcpc)
<sewn>
also its cool to try out new things, my next target is glaucus
<sad_plan>
I see. I also like alpine. although Ive never tried it. but if I were to switch to a new binary distro, aside from me already using artix on my desktop, alpine might be a choice for me
<sad_plan>
also, yeah glacious seems interesting.
<sad_plan>
developement seems to be rather slow though

sad_plan: that's because the primary developer doesn't have much time to work on the project

<sewn>
it seems promising as the project is aimed to be as performant as humanly possible, the live iso/img boots near instantly

btw
<vova>
Why not switch from busybox to toybox on kiss ?
<vova>
IIRC Dylin did it, but why not doing officialy
<vova>
Like removing busybox package and providing toybox instead
<illiliti>
because toybox requires bash at build time
<vova>
Oh
<vova>
That's sad
<sewn>
vova: I used toybox on kiss anyway and a lot of things were just missing
<sewn>
and when I wanted to add missing features, toybox's code was unreadable, hence why I patched sbase and ubase instead (which was still lacking features, but at least I really like the project and its code in general)
<vova>
Ok I see
<vova>
Busybox is better atm I guess
<vova>
also do any of you continued to work on the "virtual" packages ?
<vova>
