<cheakoirccloud>
I'd like to share this, take a good look. I'd demonstrate Marvels mastery of hardware and device drivers and a complete failure by the open source community and my mastery in both domains https://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/F2OwhyRO/
<cheakoirccloud>
I've done this more than a dozen times and every time the hardware and kernel drivers are completely solid, it's the userspace tools that fail.
<lanefu>
throw out the bond it's useless on ebin
<lanefu>
the switch only has a 1gig lane to the CPU
<cheakoirccloud>
UBoot says 2.5Gbps.
<cheakoirccloud>
So does the product description.
<lanefu>
oh is this v7?
<cheakoirccloud>
Yes, if it makes a difrence you should ask.
<lanefu>
im only experienced in v4 v5
<lanefu>
anyay the switch has the bandwidth but the RGMII to CPU doesnt in that scenario
<cheakoirccloud>
I never heard about anything other than 1G and 2G versions of the v7.
<cheakoirccloud>
This is 1G, single ram chip.
<lanefu>
anyway throw it in the trash and get a EdgeRouter or Mikrotik :P
<cheakoirccloud>
Price being the deciding factor. These userspace tools were free, so there you go.
<[TheBug]>
no you get 2.5
<[TheBug]>
its just split
<[TheBug]>
you can only get about 70M/sec per lane
<[TheBug]>
so 210M+overhead
<[TheBug]>
but I have for sure hit 140M/sec on 2 lanes
<[TheBug]>
s/lanes/ports
<ArmbianHelper>
[TheBug] meant to say: but I have for sure hit 140M/sec on 2 ports
<[TheBug]>
but
<[TheBug]>
there are very feal real life applications you can sustain that in because there otherwise isn't enough IO
<[TheBug]>
few*
<[TheBug]>
lanefu: sup
<[TheBug]>
lanefu: earlier was taking a nap after dinner

edgerouter lite is 50 bucks :P
<lanefu>
probably 30 on ebay
<lanefu>
[TheBug]: yeah same here long day
<cheakoirccloud>
I had some WiFi routers, but at the end of the day it was lack of docker that made me look into alternatives.

<lanefu>
im just bitter at ebin
<[TheBug]>
bitter? you don't have 4 of them sitting on a shelf.
<lanefu>
no only 3
<[TheBug]>
lol
<[TheBug]>
how many of them did you buy?
<[TheBug]>
:D
<lanefu>
my buddy gave me his because he was so mad at it
<lanefu>
i got a v4 from the kick starter
<lanefu>
bought a v5 to do a NAs for my bro-in-law but then didnt trust it
<[TheBug]>
yeah just think I spent 50$ on 3 and 80$ on at least 3 more :Z
<lanefu>
pretty sweet since their combined value is like $10
<[TheBug]>
lol
<[TheBug]>
ROFL
<cheakoirccloud>
I just love mine... It's just this needing to log in every reboot and run a few commands. Since the commands are `ip` I can't get anyone in #systemd to say anything other than use networkd.
<[TheBug]>
well in myu case
<[TheBug]>
I disabled networkmanager and I just bring up network in /etc/rc.local manually
<[TheBug]>
tbh a lot easier than fucking with networkmanager
<[TheBug]>
cheakoirccloud: and its persistent past reboots and upgrades
<cheakoirccloud>
Why is networkd the default?
<[TheBug]>
because #debian
<[TheBug]>
that said I know people whom rip systemd out every time they upgrade with a script lol
<[TheBug]>
so depends on your dedication to not having systemd in your life
<[TheBug]>
but generally systemd is in debian / ubuntu which is what Armbian is based off of
<[TheBug]>
/ around
<lanefu>
Piotr made some good commits to make it easier to switch the networking backend around with the armbian builder stuffs

@EvilFreelancer (Pavel Zloi): @Darklink______ @Linux4Everyone On RPi installed my own Armbian-based build, RPi Linux is too too resource-intensive for control of several Docker containers in a background. It was easier to build from scratch only what was needed than to remove the unnecessary from the RPI Linux (even from minimal edition). https://tinyurl.com/yhpcfqk9 (3s ago)

<MaximillianGreat>
I know, it's not supported, but mabe some one can give me some idea.
<MaximillianGreat>
I have Orange Pi PC, dualboot, h3droid + armbian legacy. Armbian used like 95% of time.
<MaximillianGreat>
One day, Armbian stopped boting. This screen, than reboot https://i.imgur.com/v8W8vl6.png . I thought maybe microsd card is dead. I've put in testing microsd with armbian legacy - all works fine form this microsd. So hardware is ok.
<MaximillianGreat>
I've put faulty microsd in cardreader - and well... It works fine!?! I can read/write files. fsck finds no error.
<MaximillianGreat>
What can I try, exept reinstall?

MaximillianGreat: do you have a serial to usb converter?
<iwkse>
you can try to hook to the uart and see where it's hanging
<iwkse>
(didn't watch the img though)
<MaximillianGreat>
yep, I have, but I do not have another computer here. I can take orange pi to another place though.
<iwkse>
from the screenshot seems something with hotplug, how are you powering it?
<MaximillianGreat>
dc barrel 5v 2a good qualiti power unit
<MaximillianGreat>
looks interesting. But I can't boot to Armbian on this microsd, So I can't "echo 480000 >/sys/devices/~etc". It reboots before mounting fs. But if I chouse H3droid in multiboot from this microsd, it works fine.
<iwkse>
MaximillianGreat: maybe there's a way to specific such parameter at boot
heap_ is now known as heap
<MaximillianGreat>
maybe. i'm not armbian expert. I'll try to look at bootloader config. I also should have backup of boot partition somewhere, I'll check if it corrupt.
<iwkse>
MaximillianGreat: I didn't look carefully the page, but maybe there's an alternate con you can give with sysctl

sunshavi: any idea how long its been out?
<sunshavi>
Tenkawa: no idea. but a couple of days. as I am still also on freenode
<Tenkawa>
intriguing.. figured lanefu or IgorPec or Werner wouldve noticed already
<Tenkawa>
I assume its one of theirs right?
<Tenkawa>
or even [TheBug]
<sunshavi>
but on h3droid chanell it works
<Tenkawa>
its not in here

yeah and all they have is the bridge in the h3droid channel
<Tenkawa>
so it left this channel for some reason "gotta ask them"
<lanefu>
ArmbianBridge to freenode? it's way gone
