<[TheBug]>
now only from emmc and sdcard will just fail
<[TheBug]>
wtf am I missing
<lanefu>
did spi get written
<lanefu>
does it have spi?
<[TheBug]>
it does look to have an SPI chip
<[TheBug]>
I didn't touch it though
<[TheBug]>
also I don't have 'j16' populated
<[TheBug]>
which should cause it to default to sdcard
<[TheBug]>
which is whats more odd
<[TheBug]>
at least if I understand docs correctly
<[TheBug]>
trying buster instead of focal image
<[TheBug]>
frustraing
<[TheBug]>
going to have to hook up uart and figure this out
<[TheBug]>
no fucking clue why it worked 10 minutes ago
<[TheBug]>
now wont boot
<[TheBug]>
from sdcard that is
<[TheBug]>
still boots emmc no issue
<lanefu>
SBCs are fun
<[TheBug]>
ha
<[TheBug]>
I wonder if t he sdcard slot is now broken
<[TheBug]>
I found someone reported theirs failed
<[TheBug]>
and when booted from emmc I am not seeing mmcblk0
<[TheBug]>
wtf
<[TheBug]>
but then I take it out and back in and it shows up
<[TheBug]>
something is wrong with sdcard detect pin
<[TheBug]>
usually thats what that means
<[TheBug]>
booo
<[TheBug]>
yep I am betting thats my problem
<[TheBug]>
cause rebooted it after reinsert of the card
<[TheBug]>
and what do you know, it booted sdcard
<[TheBug]>
grrrrr
* [TheBug]
rages
<[TheBug]>
bets on what happens if I reboot it?
<[TheBug]>
so until I power off it will know the sdcard is there
<[TheBug]>
but as soon as I do it will fail to detect sdcard on boot
<[TheBug]>
lanefu: e-mailed Pine64 directly as I think this is a failure of the sdcard slot and want to see what they think / if they will replace it
<[TheBug]>
:facepalm:
<[TheBug]>
why have a support e-mail address if this is all it sends back: n order to serve you better, we have implemented the support ticket system. Please kindly file a support ticket at https://desk.zoho.com/portal/pine64/home with full detail of the issues you are facing. Our support team will response your ticket within 48 hours.

<IgorPec>
[thebug] previous build of rockpro64 had some issue - bootloader was not installed. .4 build should be ok
<IgorPec>
good luck with communicating with pine64 ;)
<[TheBug]>
hmm
<[TheBug]>
I tested a few images
<[TheBug]>
was replicating the issue but I will check further
<[TheBug]>
seems like its not detecting sd card present pin
<[TheBug]>
cause I can boot emmc, remove sd, place sd, reboot it will boot sdcard
<[TheBug]>
I can shut it off ( not remove power) switch the card and it will boot sdcard
<[TheBug]>
if I remove power and boot again, will not detect / boot sdcard
<[TheBug]>
if there was no bootloader, it just wouldn't boot at all in any condition
<[TheBug]>
IgorPec: well I will give you this, they replied to me but they definitely didn't read my request for comprehension and gave me an automate response as a solution... so yay for that
<[TheBug]>
gave me every solution I already eliminated and coumented as such in my original reply, but they ignored it all ;)
<[TheBug]>
