<Tonymac32> My Dell tablet runs that SoC
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> Sadly I couldn't resurrect the one [TheBug] sent me, my magic only goes so far, I couldn't un-lift the pads
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> I'd love to see that board as a pico-ITX with an M.2 NVMe under it.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> But I'm also tired of the Pi shape for SBC's, it was poorly thought out.
<[TheBug]>
Tonymac32: yeah there are a ton of tablets out there with that chipset

<lanefu> Rockpi X shoulx have been shaped like an X
<Tables>
The 4-5" squares are the best
<Tables>
You can stack 4~ of them side by side in a 1U blank with DIY clips/bolts.

<Tonymac32> The thing about Pico ITX is that it is barely bigger than a Pi, but it's "Bigger Enough" to pack more interesting stuff (and make room for heat sink bolt holes)
<Armbian-Discord>
<hipboi> Glad you like it 🙂
<Armbian-Discord>
<hipboi> Pico ITX is the ultimate form factor for SBC
<Armbian-Discord>
<hipboi> with current package technology
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> Just for size comparison for anyone who doesn't know. Behold an RPi I own. 🤣
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> RPi 2 v1.1. the only stable one I have... 🤔
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> I need to get this I.MX8 board (right) running
<archetech>
any devs got a radxa zero yet
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> I do. Was getting ready to build the PR for testing
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> Been a rough few weeks at work (automotive engineer at a supplier, we use chips :D)
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> so I'm a bit behind my fun activities like Armbian
<Armbian-Discord>
<hipboi> @archetech free radxa zero for dev here
<archetech>
any issues?
<Armbian-Discord>
<hipboi> so far the reverse plug of USB 3 is not working
<Armbian-Discord>
<hipboi> plug one side is USB3, plug the other side is USB 2
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> so flipping the type-c upside down?
<Armbian-Discord>
<hipboi> yes
<Armbian-Discord>
<hipboi> the USB 3 mux switch is not working upstream
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> Ok
<archetech>
is that holding up release ?
hipboi has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<archetech>
ha that scared him
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> Ugh I want the desktop stuff somehow spun into its own repo or something. 👀.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> Not separate from Armbian, I just want it to stop effing up PR's that are more than 6 hours old because of irrelevant shite like wallpapers 🤣.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> So BSP and human space stuff can be worked on separately, safely
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> I've not tried a type-C on an Amlogic board 🤔
<archetech>
seems reasonable I still dont get why taskdel isnt good enough for a DE install
<archetech>
tasksel
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> I don't know anything about it unfortunately
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> @hipboi is the GPIO finalized on the Zero?
<archetech>
he left
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> he'll see it when he comes back, thanks to persistence on here
<Armbian-Discord>
<hipboi> @Tonymac32 I think yes
<Armbian-Discord>
<hipboi> there is not enough GPIO from S905Y2
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> Haha ok. I found the schematic as well in the meantime. Thank you.

<RichNeese> hey Tony just like the t4 also
<Armbian-Discord>
<RichNeese> but the som board is made for development and has ports on 3 sides
<Armbian-Discord>
<RichNeese> but I agree ports on 1 side like a normal pc is better layout
<Armbian-Discord>
<RichNeese> but when yougo fo small form factor like the rpi not going to happen

<Tonymac32> Correct. The T4 is the same width as Pico ITX, which is why it can support the NVMe on-board, but it is more shallow than the standard
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> RPi: 85.6 x 56.5 Pico-ITX: 100 x 72
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> That isn't a massive difference in size honestly
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> 14.4 wider, 15.5 "deeper", 100% more usable. 😆

<NeonFetch> Hi guys, so, update on my z8350 adventures!!
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> I tried latest radxa image
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> Same issues
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> Lovely blue screens
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> Its not something that happens only to me of course
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> Nicod also have them and switched to linux. While its perfectly stable there for most parts, I would like to use something more powerful on linux
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> I am trying to get a decent old gaming mini sbc with this, also to make a video. My nephews love jazz jack rabbits 2 but on box86 you need to do overclock to get decent results (wine overhead)
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> And I want something that just works.
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> When this sbc is running it does great on old school dx9 games!
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> But, it crash a lot.
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> And this guy that use it for a DIY project also experience this issues
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> And find out that for some reason
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> Installing Linux on the same emmc
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> Let him go back to windows with the stability that didn't have before. Odd, really odd. But well, and interesting mystery too.
