<haritz>
the problem is version incompatibility
patrix has left #armbian [#armbian]
<haritz>
I tried using the stock one on archlinux, and it turns out it's several versions ahead of the one on armbian, which means some of the symbols defined in gcclib are incompatible

haritz: maybe just setup armbian in a chroot on your arch?
<buZz>
i usually just build native on distros
<buZz>
'apt install build-essential' :)
<Armbian-Discord>
<lanefu> Yeah armbian is just meant to be built from our builder
<Armbian-Discord>
<lanefu> But we do have a arm64 docker container now
<haritz>
I'll give that a ago
<haritz>
I think I already tried that, and the thing I want to build depends on a version of meson ahead of the one on armbian buster
<haritz>
I think that's what put me off at first

<haritz>
maybe I could build a custon toolchain with crosstool-ng
<buZz>
ah its not a debian package you are trying to build?
<buZz>
porting stuff to debian is a bit of a task, indeed
<buZz>
especially with version mismatches
<haritz>
I'm trying to build the mesa library
<buZz>
yeah that'll be very involved :P
<buZz>
whats wrong with the mesa library in armbian?
<haritz>
nothing
<buZz>
i'm confused then :P
<haritz>
I'm trying to build the one for panfrost
<buZz>
ah ok
<buZz>
why not just start with the debian mesa library
<buZz>
and start to build your panfrost version from that
<buZz>
instead of starting with mesa upstream and trying to debian that
archetech has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<haritz>
let's say I've a personal interest in being able to build it from the latest sources on freekdestop
<buZz>
still, at least that route leads to something that can be imported into armbian :)
<Armbian-Discord>
<kprasadvnsi> changed the verbosity to 7. still the same output.

<kprasadvnsi> I think what is been send to mainline is not very stable on H616
<Armbian-Discord>
<kprasadvnsi> My buildroot image doesn't boot with those patches.
<Armbian-Discord>
<lanefu> @kprasadvnsi I have this in my customize userpatches/customize-image.sh script verbosity() { if [[ -f /boot/armbianEnv.txt ]]; then sed -i 's/verbosity.*$/verbosity=7/' /boot/armbianEnv.txt fi } ## main verbosity
<Armbian-Discord>
<kprasadvnsi> Ok, so if I change the verbosity in the sdcard image, will that work?
<Armbian-Discord>
<kprasadvnsi> I mean the image already burn into an sd card
<Armbian-Discord>
<lanefu> yes
<Armbian-Discord>
<lanefu> that works.. was just showing you a method to always set lik that if you wanted
<Armbian-Discord>
<kprasadvnsi> Yah, the script will be handy for debugging.
<Armbian-Discord>
<kprasadvnsi> Now I need to look into those H616 patches.
