does llvm's LLVM_STATIC_LINK_CXX_STDLIB=ON require anything specific? I couldnt find anything about it requiring anything on llvms website anyway. it makes my llvm fail appearantly

yes, I was sortof basing it off one of his earlier builds, with the commit with him making llvm fully static. assuming that it does indeed build obviously.

yeah, that would be the current buildscript. I was initially looking at an older one, seeing as it seems he turned on some shared libs. llvm's dylibs is appearantly shared

sad_plan: there were some changes to LLVM's build system with the release of 12.*.*, so I wouldn't use that commit's build file with a newer version of llvm
