SiFuh changed the topic of #crux-social to: Offtopic Talks | Project https://crux.nu/ | Logs: https://libera.irclog.whitequark.org/crux-social/
<remiliascarlet> SiFuh: "People do banking on their computer?" Yes, and it's getting more and more hostile to their customers too.
<remiliascarlet> zorz: "on a windows system! ... but they run antivirus." This is like saying "I have surveillance camera's in my house ... but owned and controlled by the CCP and Fakebook".
<remiliascarlet> Online banking on Windows with an antivirus is no safer than online banking on a smartphone with Fakebook and TikTok installed on that same device.
<SiFuh> farkuhar: That video of zorz'
<SiFuh> farkuhar: That video of zorz's of the bishop being stabbed in Australia. Did you notice that while the guy was stabbing the bishop he stopped and looked at his hand? The knife hadn't opened.

<remiliascarlet> SiFuh: This entire page (including even the images) really feels AI generated: http://iryokensa.com/blood/what-is-a-ua-uric-acid-test-explanation-of/
<SiFuh> Yeah it does. I find a lot of these types of pages these days and they really annoy me because it is just a waste of time
<remiliascarlet> I've had my bloodwork done. The only thing that was too high was uric acid. Other than that, everything is within the normal range.
<SiFuh> Constantly repeating stuff throughout the article and every new section under a headline has an explanatory introduction like you really need to be introduced every two minutes as you read through the page.
<SiFuh> Uric acid too high? Hmm what do you drink?
<SiFuh> Gout! Coming to a body part near you!
<remiliascarlet> Water, coffee, and tea. Nothing else.
<remiliascarlet> But I drink lots of water.
<remiliascarlet> I used to drink coffee a lot, but I lowered the amount after I learned that coffee would break down nutrients if you drink it with your food, so recommended is to drink either 2 hours before your meal, or 2 hours after your meal.
<SiFuh> プリン体は内臓肉や魚介類、アルコールなどに多く含まれていますので、これらの食品を過剰に摂取することは避けるべきです。
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: Were they extremely high or just a little high?
<remiliascarlet> The only other thing I can think of is pork liver. I are quite a bit of pork liver before the blood work, which the doctor explained that it's among the things that will raise uric acid by a lot.
<remiliascarlet> Depends on what you mean. In the case of females, the upper limit is 6L. I was at 9.5L.
<SiFuh> I won't eat pig liver. But I will eat cow liver
<remiliascarlet> Cow liver will raise it even more.
<SiFuh> So does coffee
<remiliascarlet> The reason why I went for pig liver is because cow liver simply wasn't available.
<remiliascarlet> And I kept being told by everyone around me that I needed vitamin C, which can be found in liver.
<SiFuh> And in fat if the fat isn't cooked at high temperatures
<remiliascarlet> And yes, I'm already lowering my coffee intake.
<SiFuh> Just chuck in a couple of tomatoes or something
<SiFuh> Or buy oranges and squeeze it into juice in the morning
<remiliascarlet> The thing is, you really don't need lots of vitamin C if you don't eat carbs and/or sugar in the first place.
<SiFuh> If your meat is over cooked and heavily salted, you will lose the vitamins and minerals you need
<remiliascarlet> The Maasai prove it, the Inuits proved it, our primitive ancestors proved it, Okinawans kinda prove it, and so on.
<SiFuh> That is why I prefer to cook mine at low temperatures. Between 75 and 80 Celsius
<SiFuh> Inuits were fish eaters. mostly
<SiFuh> Actually from what I hear, they were called Eskimos because Eskimo means meat eater.
<remiliascarlet> Mostly marine, yes. But they'd eat terrestial and aerial animals too if available.
<remiliascarlet> In Okinawa they eat lots of pork, more than anything else, and don't leave a single part of the animal to waste.
<remiliascarlet> The Maasai are very interesting, I recommend you look them up. They're among the last known hunter and gatherers on Earth.
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: This is a good reply
<SiFuh> Study some biology, particularly cellular respiration. The biology that is in every textbook is based on a glucogenic diet (glucose as the primary fuel source). However, our bodies can also run on ketones, a by-product of fat burning. The body functions differently when ketones are the fuel source. The Inuit eat no carbohydrates, so are being fueled by ketones. When your body is fueled by ketones you
<SiFuh> don't need nearly as much vitamin C as you would when consuming a glucose heavy diet. A specific transport protein in our cells can allow both glucose and vitamin C into the cell. The priority is for glucose over vit C, so more C is needed to be consumed to ensure sufficient quantities are absorbed. Take glucose out of the equation and now your cells are getting plenty of C with less consumed because
<SiFuh> the competition is gone. Assuming the Inuit (and other meat-only cultures) were eating at least the liver along with muscle meat, they would get plenty of vitamins, as liver is very dense in nutrients.
<SiFuh> Maasai from Mozambique?
<SiFuh> The black killer tribe?
<SiFuh> Oh Kenya and Tanzania. Yeah these people. They like to jump up and down as high as they can
<SiFuh> I don't remember ever hearing about them until I watched the TV series "Dude, You're Screwed". Good series though. Basically they would randomnly kidknap one of their survival friends. Strip him of everything he can use to survive and blind fold them. Dump them somwhere on the planet and they had to survive
<SiFuh> 'Whose turn is it to play the game? In DUDE, YOU'RE SCREWED, five of the world's most elite, thrill-seeking survivalists will find out! Unprepared and left to fend for yourself, what would you do if you were captured, blindfolded and taken to an unknown, remote location? Five survivalists must prove they have what it takes week after week as they play this "game" that puts all of their skills to the
<SiFuh> ultimate test.'
<SiFuh> Dude, You're Screwed Season 2 Episode 2 - African Ambush
<SiFuh> Primitive skills survivalist Matt Graham is kidnapped by the Dudes and dropped in Tanzania. With giant predators lurking at night and dehydration beginning to kick in, will Matt be able to escape in less than 100 hours?
<SiFuh> Matt Graham is like Tarzan. He wears a loin cloth and the camera crew can't keep up with him while he is running.
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: How about you make beef bone broth?
<SiFuh> I have homemade beef, goat, lamb and duck broths. They make a good drink as well.
<SiFuh> When you store in the refrigerator, the surface of the broth will end up with a layer of fat you can use for cooking meat. The broth will become like jelly. Just warm it up and it becomes liquid again. Or you can eat it like jelly :-P
<SiFuh> You can even add some cornstarch to thicken it up and make a gravy for your beef
<SiFuh> I know people who use bone broth as the water for their coffee
<SiFuh> But they have black coffee without sugar
<remiliascarlet> SiFuh: I was actually thinking about making pork bone broth, since I eat lots of spare ribs anyway. But I don't really understand how to make it exactly apart from cooking the bones or something.
<SiFuh> Oh it is easy but it takes a long time.
<remiliascarlet> I never put sugar in my coffee. My coffee is always as black as a nigger.
<SiFuh> Mine is as black as a Jarawa
lavaball has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: There are two types of bone broth. There is the broth that only uses bones, fat, waste meat and marrow. The other is the same but with vegetables and fruits and seasoning added.
<remiliascarlet> Ramen is very often made out of pork bone broth. The only vegetables are what whoever makes the ramen had added afterwards, and the only seasoning is whatever the customer added after receiving the order. No fruits ever.
<SiFuh> If you want the first type. Then roast your bones under the grill (Not neccessary but does change the flavour). Throw everything into a pot and add water. Bring to boil, lower to simmer. Wait anywhere between 8 hours to as long as you want.
<SiFuh> Almost all bone broth has fruit, vegetables and seasoning in it.
<remiliascarlet> Yeah, I know that every time I put spare ribs into a grill, some marrow flows out of it, which I eat.
<SiFuh> When you grill beef does anything drip off the beef? If so save it. If you eat meat and there are some parts you don't want to chew or eat. Put it in your broth.
<remiliascarlet> Yes, in both cases (pork and beef) they drip off, but I always drink it.
<SiFuh> Basically a bone broth is a flavorsome liquid (Becomes jelly) that is made up of all your waste products. You extract everything into the water and you throw everthing else out.
<SiFuh> You don't even need to peel the onions and stuff. Or remove stalks and seeds. You just chop everything up and throw it into a pot
<SiFuh> When I do oven roast duck. I strain out all the liquid because it is already a duck broth.
lavaball has joined #crux-social
<remiliascarlet> Basically, whatever drips off, I put it in a separate bowl, and drink it up.
<SiFuh> Use to do that as a kid
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: It's super easy. Basically the only rule is. Bones, water, simmer for hours.
ppetrov^ has joined #crux-social
<remiliascarlet> Also, before my bloodwork, I always got told that my cholesterol will be going through the roof. As it turns out, it's all at the lower end of the normal range.
<SiFuh> Cool
<SiFuh> I like onion, leek, garlic, tomatoes, salt, vinegar, paprika in my bone broths.
<remiliascarlet> I looked for a nearby butcher from where I am, but they all happen to be in Tokyo, which is pretty annoying.
<remiliascarlet> Now I found many in my area. All I did was looking up in DuckDuckGo instead of Google Maps.
<SiFuh> Cool
<SiFuh> Wife just turned up with heaps of meat. Pig of course. I asked where are the bones?
<SiFuh> Bone Broth also has Glycine. Glycine is an amino acid sweet like sugar.
<SiFuh> Hyaluoronic acid too which is excellent for the creation of synovial fluids which keeps your joints well lubricated and your skin wrink free
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: One day when camping, I want to try Genghis Khan's style of meat
<SiFuh> Cook the beef with stones

<zorz> you wazzup?
<zorz> rabbits?
<SiFuh> Yeah
<zorz> hahaha
<SiFuh> Emperor Nasi Goreng built the great wall of China to keep the rabbits out.
<zorz> ok now david he will talk for china.
<zorz> haha
<SiFuh> I should give you some context
<SiFuh> Nasi Goreng is "Fried Rice" in Malay/Indonesian
<SiFuh> In Australia we have dog and rabbit fences that go for miles
<zorz> ooooo it gets better!
<zorz> in america for mexicans, in greece as well.....
<zorz> yes but i think is stupid for rabbits because rabbits open wholes in the ground
<zorz> so fence? unless has concrete in 1 meter so depth
<SiFuh> zorz: That guy who stabbed the bishop in Australia forgot to open his knife. He stops, looks at his hand, realises the knife isn't open, so he opened it and then continued stabbing. He was shouting Allah Akbar and when arrested had a giant smile on his face. They said he is from Labanon
<SiFuh> Lebanon
<zorz> man, in syria assad was right..... and because assad ally with russia they fuck him. they should help him, assad was against this extreme muslims.
<zorz> File and directory monitor
<zorz> ==========================

<zorz> monitoring up to the open file descriptors limit.
<zorz> If gio-kqueue needs to handle large directories, the kern.maxfiles
<zorz> sysctl(8) should be increased by adding an entry in sysctl.conf(5) and
<zorz> the user's login(1) class modified accordingly by bumping the "cur" and

<farkuhar> bonjour!
<ppetrov^> where does adjtime come from??
<farkuhar> any idea how /etc/adjtime might be present on a CRUX installation, without having a corresponding entry in the package database? ppetrov^ and I both needed to force update util-linux recently, because pkgadd complained that /etc/adjtime already existed (yet was not claimed by the previous version of util-linux, in fact `pkginfo -o` reported no owner at all).
<ppetrov^> farkuhar, if we go back in time throigh the commits in git and compare .footprints?
<farkuhar> on first glance, it was jue's commit from 2024-03-28 13:48:52 +0100 that deleted both /etc and /etc/adjtime from the util-linux footprint.
<farkuhar> maybe an artifact of switching from autotools to meson?
<farkuhar> then jaeger reverted to autotools on 2024-03-30, which restored /etc and /etc/adjtime to the footprint.
<zorz> farkuhar: bon journee
<farkuhar> So when ppetrov^ and I encountered the pkgadd error (file already exists, use -f to force overwrite), some other process must have created /etc/adjtime on our behalf, since it wasn't part of the util-linux footprint. Hence the question: which process is responsible for populating /etc/adjtime?
<zorz> I see your life with linux is exciting :)
<farkuhar> zorz: you would expect the core maintainers to think through all the implications before abandoning the long-standing autotools build system, and switching to a relative newcomer like meson. /etc/adjtime was only a minor casualty of that overhaul, not even mentioned in jaeger's reverting-to-autotools commit.
<ppetrov^> huehuehue, let's go to #crux-devel and tell them. Then SiFuh will bring up pam in core
<farkuhar> (had to find a way to insert the word "casualty" when responding to the Greek guy. Just like ppetrov^ had to insert "iran" when trying to type "familiar".)
<ppetrov^> it was a typo...
<zorz> its a mess, /etc/adjtime isnt a kernel thing that comes with util-linux to hwclock something ?
<ppetrov^> or, "We don't make mistakes, just happy accidents"
<zorz> ppetrov^: hahaha
<zorz> ppetrov^: Balkan mentality,,, there you go :-)
<ppetrov^> for the record, I love hov CRUX is designed, however the quality control should be better
<remiliascarlet> ppetrov^: I actually got to notice that software projects that are run by a dictator generally tend to be of higher quality than those run by a "democracy", and especially better than those with a rotating ownership.
<farkuhar> remiliascarlet: is "rotating ownership" referring specifically to the back-to-back commits by jue (2024-03-28) and jaeger (2024-03-30), or the more general phenomenon of the maintainer line "CRUX System Team, core-ports at crux dot nu"?
<ppetrov^> remiliascarlet, well, Slackware has Pat as its 'dictator' and the distro is pretty solid, however, there have been some hiccups in the past years. A kernel upgrade in the stable branch that lead to broken ATI video, for example
<remiliascarlet> farkuhar: By rotating ownership, I mean something like "at the beginning, Founder is the owner of the project, a year later he got elected out, and User1 got elected as the new owner, then a year later User1 got replaced by User2".
<farkuhar> remiliascarlet: oh, okay. I guess that's a more common pattern than "Any updates on Mondays are pushed by Owner1, any updates on Wednesdays are pushed by Owner2, any updates on Fridays are pushed by Owner3, ..."
<SiFuh> Fucking Linux-PAM is a curse
<remiliascarlet> SiFuh: It has infected FreeBSD and NetBSD too.
<remiliascarlet> Not OpenBSD though.
<SiFuh> Rotating ownership is like democratically elected politicians. They don't really give a shit about enything except getting a fat wallet and hoping nothing goes wrong. When their term starts, they blame the previous adminstration. When the term ends they blame the administration.
<SiFuh> zorz: That bishop that was stabbed in Australia was anti-lockdown and anti-injection
<zorz> i heard ont the news yesterday
<SiFuh> I am now covered in paint. Her parents asked me to paint some walls
<zorz> SiFuh: I really do not understand people attcking to people like this.
<SiFuh> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_9Y0hpbPDM <-- You can listen to his rant. 1 hour and 50 minutes into the video
<zorz> SiFuh: what did they say, David please do this wall for me ?
<SiFuh> zorz: He said he offended Islam
<SiFuh> "Can you ask David if he can change the lights and paint this wall if you have any leftover paint?"
<zorz> so what... some people are with islam some catholics some orthodox prodestats budist... what a fuck man...
<SiFuh> zorz: Shogun released
<zorz> yes later
<zorz> remiliascarlet: are you online ?
<SiFuh> zorz: I still laugh that he was stabbing the Bishop and forgot to open his knife. In the middle of the stabbing he stops. Looks at the knife in his hand then presses the button for the blade to pop out. I reckon that is the only reason the bishop isn't dead because he didn't get many stabbs in before the audience pounced on top of him.
<remiliascarlet> zorz: No.
<ppetrov^> in georgian parliament they had a fistfight
<zorz> ok they are stupid, blind by religion and people taught them to believe wrong.
<SiFuh> zorz: Aethism is worse
<SiFuh> Atheism*
<zorz> remiliascarlet: https://dpaste.com/FHXQBRYWV this is good stuff... blazing.
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: That is the way parliament should be. Screw verbal abuse. Let's see physical abuse!
<remiliascarlet> │10:36:41 remiliascarlet | zorz: "on a windows system! ... but they run antivirus." This is like saying "I have surveillance camera's in my house ... but owned and controlled by the CCP and Fakebook".
<zorz> yes atheist do not harm people.
<ppetrov^> SiFuh, my father used to give the Turkish parliament as an example, where they had a shooting in the 80s or sth
<ppetrov^> Fakebook? Fecesbook
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: I think politicians need serious ass whoopings daily. To slap those cunts into place
<zorz> remiliascarlet: sorry did not see it since i disconnect everyday. yes...windows, apple and eventually linux....will surveillance the planet.
<SiFuh> Bloody woman, forgot to by my tampons
<SiFuh> by/buy
<zorz> come again?
<SiFuh> You don't know what a Tampon is? It is a thing _some_ women use at certain times of the month
<zorz> the usage of Tampon on yourside, I do not understand.
<ppetrov^> in a certain place, zorz
<SiFuh> You should always carry some in your survival kit. They make awesome kindling. One small capsule open up makes about two fist fulls of fluff that can catch fire very easily. Since they are small and compact and the packaging general keeps them waterproof, they are excellent for survival and light-weight camping
<zorz> SiFuh: maybe is the chillies? :Ppp
<SiFuh> Condoms are also good in your survival kit, because they can hold upto 1 litre of water. Just don't get flavoured condoms or it will ruin the water.
<zorz> or get balloons
<SiFuh> Baloons are weaker
<SiFuh> But yes, that would work
<zorz> ppetrov^: he is lying....
<SiFuh> Baloons are also harder to keep full because they are more difficult to stretch.
<remiliascarlet> zorz: It's what we put in our pussies when we're bleeding out of it once a month.
<SiFuh> zorz: Want to bet? https://www.survivalsullivan.com/selecting-tinder-and-kindling-for-fire/ Improvised Tinder Tampon fluff (from all-cotton tampons)
<zorz> remiliascarlet: if the man unlucky, sometimes is twice a month
<remiliascarlet> Men don't have a pussy, so they won't bleed out of it.
<SiFuh> zorz: https://willowhavenoutdoor.com/1-ways-a-condom-can-save-your-life-multi-functional-survival-uses-for-a-condom/ WATER They make amazing compact water containers that can hold as much as 2 liters of water if handled properly.
<SiFuh> zorz: I taught bush survival to the emergency services in QLD Australia during the 90's. I ain't lying
<zorz> SiFuh: do you have the pills to put in water and drink it ?
<remiliascarlet> zorz: You're pregnant?
<SiFuh> You mean iodine pills?
<SiFuh> No, I don't need iodine pills, or bleach. There are other ways to get water
<zorz> i do not know, in army... you can drink water from the ground with this pill
<zorz> remiliascarlet: not yet!
<SiFuh> Find a river. Walk 3 metres away from the river. Dig a whole deep enough to go below the water level of the river. Cover the hole with leaves and wait. It will fill up with filtered water.
<ppetrov^> zorz, a Bulgarian joke: is it possible for a man to get pregnant? No, but experiments in Turkey continue...
<zorz> ppetrov^: hahahaha
<SiFuh> whole/hole
<ppetrov^> another one: Greek people invented everything, including sex. However, the romans improved it a bit, by introducing a woman into the act
<zorz> yes in Arab countries those experiments are on next level
<ppetrov^> *introducing = adding
<zorz> ppetrov^: :)
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: Techincally that means the same thing
<SiFuh> Technically*
<ppetrov^> ye, i wasnt sure
<zorz> who cares what they did in ancient times... now what we do.
<ppetrov^> heh
<SiFuh> You have described two men and a woman. So she is now a double adapter?
<SiFuh> Journalists should be forbidden from having an opinion
<zorz> exactly as for reporters allowed only to report! I cannot believe how they introduce theirselves as a journalist or a reporter. Its like a rust kid goes to SiFuh and introduces himself as programmer :Ppp
<SiFuh> I haven't punched a journalist
<SiFuh> :-)
<zorz> hahaha
<SiFuh> Reminds me of the kid in my taxi (Maybe in his 20's) he was messing around with his phone like crazy. I asked what he was doing. He said he was hacking. I asked him to show me. He did. He was using apt get. So I took the phone off of him and kicked him out of the taxi.
<SiFuh> That phone sat in the taxi for maybe 3 months before we upgraded the taxi and the day driver took the phone and threw it in the trash. Hahaha
<SiFuh> He also threw out the wedding ring of some regular customer that wanted it back when he had money for the Taxi
<zorz> aaaaaaaaaa
<zorz> he paid taxi trip with the wedding rings ?

<SiFuh> She yelled at me in Ching Chong something. And I laughed and said "What? Atleast you don't have to carry it now!"
<SiFuh> My Indian friend asked me when I am going jungle next. I said May the 1st. He then asked if he can come.
<zorz> all this people they have now voice from the social media.... aat least they think they have.
<SiFuh> zorz: If her nephew goes jungle with us as well. And get's his face out of that phone. I will give him a Swiss Army knife.
<SiFuh> I got him this one.
<zorz> ooo silver one...
<SiFuh> Not something I would want. But for a kid and being a first knife, sure why not
<zorz> all kids like knifes... unless they play with dolls
<SiFuh> Reamer, punch
<SiFuh> Hmm, we used that for splicing rope
<SiFuh> I wish I had my Australian Army knife with me.
<SiFuh> I have two this model.
<SiFuh> Cool
<SiFuh> You can kill crocodiles with that
<zorz> if you are fast!
<SiFuh> Not sure in my older age but when I was a kid, we use to tease crocodiles all the time.
<zorz> this is a knife for the priest!
<SiFuh> Crocdile Dundee
<SiFuh> I might buy this
<SiFuh> Oooh blonde girl in the video
<zorz> i like blondies
<SiFuh> Anna Sawai isn't blonde!
<zorz> canadians, clever people.
<zorz> Anna Sawai is an exception!... exceptions more intrigued
<SiFuh> I don't like the plastic cases they use for cold steel
<SiFuh> I'd have to make a leather sheath instead
<zorz> leather is better.
<zorz> you see blonde!
<zorz> his got a knife
<zorz> ooo they kiss
<remiliascarlet> ppetrov^: "Greek people invented everything, including sex. However, the romans improved it a bit, by introducing a woman into the act" And the west has seemingly devented sex by cutting off genetilia.
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: Ever notice everything they target is about joy?
<SiFuh> They don't want you to be happy, they don't want you to enjoy anything
<SiFuh> They made drugs illegal, guns illegal, alcohol sin, smoking a sin, they want your cars, your freedom, they want to take your kids, lop off your genitals. They are sucking the joy out of life.
<remiliascarlet> They want you to only be happy if you own nothing.
<ppetrov^> huehuehue, *They*
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: Common thing conspiracy denialists say because they are not interested in knowing who they are.
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: ppetrov^: zorz: I gave a link to dlcusa the other day. It was very interesting
<SiFuh> This is the video
<zorz> SiFuh: you thing the elite cares about the citizens of usa?
<SiFuh> No way, they don't give a shit about any citizen
<ppetrov^> SiFuh, I love movies about conspiracies
<ppetrov^> Arlington Road comes to mind
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: Do you know why the word conspiracy exists in the dictionary? Because conspiracies happen all the time throughout history
<SiFuh> ~Just watch any reality TV series or Drama series and you will see millions of examples of conspiracies
<SiFuh> Or go and read the history books.
<SiFuh> The actual phrase "Conspiracy Theorist" was coined by the CIA to stop people talking about JFK's assassination
<ppetrov^> i do not watch reality stuff
<SiFuh> Now we have a new phrase. "Conspiracy Denialist". People who believe conspiracies don't exist
<SiFuh> Imagine everyone in Greece was murdered except zorz. But because zorz didn't know who murdered everyone he can only say "They killed everyone". Then ppetrov^ pops up and says "huehuehue, *They*". So I guess no one was murdered then
<SiFuh> Haha
<ppetrov^> heh
<SiFuh> No offence but the "they" response is kind of really dumb
<ppetrov^> sorry, huehuehue
<SiFuh> Haha
<ppetrov^> SiFuh, none taken
<SiFuh> I want to know how to hue hue hue
<SiFuh> It's sounds awkward in English
<ppetrov^> you are right, actually
<ppetrov^> sometimes in Bulgarian we would write хуехуехуе
<SiFuh> I like Thai. +555
<ppetrov^> and it reads exactly as it's written, not as hue
<SiFuh> It is so much easier
<SiFuh> Like a softer and slighty out of tone hu hu hu?
<ppetrov^> hueh hueh hueh
<ppetrov^> sth like that
<SiFuh> In Thai language 5 = ha so +555 became ha ha ha
<ppetrov^> didnt occur to me that it may sound totally different to an native English speaker
<ppetrov^> heh
<ppetrov^> cool
<ppetrov^> and spanish laugh as jajaja

<SiFuh> EMP attacks are kind of over exaggerated. They actuall don't cause the damage they say they do in the movies
<dlcusa> Can you back those statements up with hard data?
<SiFuh> Just look into it. Even build your own machine to test
<SiFuh> During the early days when they introduced ECU's in cars (The computer) you could drive down the road and the lightening would strike the ground maybe 2km or so away. Then suddenly your car stops working.
<dlcusa> I'm talking about fission detonations 200 miles over Minnesota.
<SiFuh> So ECUs got an upgrade. Now they are inside an aluminium and silicone layered case.
<SiFuh> Now you look at the EMP effect of lightening. It is insane. Yet we don't get black outs. Airplanes can even be struck by lightening and they still fly
<dlcusa> NASA put out a report on the risks back in 2007, as I recall.
<SiFuh> huehuehue *NASA*
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: ^
<SiFuh> Wasn't there a scene in Broken Arrow where the helicopter was powered off after the bomb dropped so it wouldn't get fried? Hehe
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Here is a nice one. If an aircraft can be hit with lightening and still fly. Then why can't we use mobile phones on the aircraft?
<dlcusa> Are you familiar with the Carrington Event? https://www.space.com/the-carrington-event Current induction in unsheilded ICs is the exposure.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Yep
<SiFuh> A lot of important stuff is shielded these days
<dlcusa> In terms of economic activity, a lot more is not.
<SiFuh> I'd be happy if or tech was fried to be honest. I think it is a curse on humanity
<SiFuh> or/all
<dlcusa> That's what I was saying when I introduced this topic.
<SiFuh> Yes, didn't disagree just said it doesn't work that way
<SiFuh> I think of modern tech to be a modern version of the Tower of Babel
<SiFuh> Nothing wrong with being able to talk to a Japanese chick and Greek guy who doesn't RTFM from different corners of the planet.
<dlcusa> It is indeed. Genesis recorded the Almighty's statement that if mankind succeeded with that project, nothing would be impossible to them.
<SiFuh> Just the purpose is of its existence is basically the same as the Tower of Babel now
<dlcusa> And the language issue now has work-arounds.
<SiFuh> Yes
<SiFuh> I like a lot of it but I see what it actually is and I'd rather do without much of it
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet and I are pretty much identical in many things. We don't take a phone outside. I do if I travel large distances or alone. But if I am with others. I don't carry that shit with me.
<SiFuh> The greatest escape I ever learned was putting my phone on silent. Then eventually forgetting where it is. ;-)
<SiFuh> dlcusa: One of the things I really like when we go jungle. No one cares for the phone. Some of the older kids bring and watch movies or something but mostly they just live. I leave mine home and I bring the Satellite phone. I keep it a secret though. I don't want anyone to know I can call out in the jungle. I have it for emergencies
<SiFuh> 1 USD a minute, I don't want anyone treating me like a phone booth. HAHAHA
<SiFuh> When I am fishing, or floating in the river, I do like to watch the kids play. It reminds me of life pre-80's where kids just lived. Had fun. Found enjoyment in life.
<SiFuh> Best part. No phone reception. So they put it down pretty quickly
<zorz> 4 days to BTC halving... next what ?
<SiFuh> zorz: Everytime the media hypes up BTC you are suppose to know they will crash it
<zorz> what did i tell you i just wait when to short.
<SiFuh> They have been doing it like clockwork for decades
<SiFuh> They hype it up, attract many to buy. Then when it reaches the peak they want. They sell and dump
<zorz> yes its the way it goes.
<SiFuh> zorz: You forgot the lyrics to John Prime's song?
<zorz> who is he?
<SiFuh> Prine*
<dlcusa> That was one of his greats. My favorite has remained so for decades: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APNGF-XXdEM
<SiFuh> Oooh I have all his albums
<SiFuh> I just hope he and the former mayor of Chicago are not related
<SiFuh> What was her name? That woman that looked like a Dog-Faced Fugu?
<dlcusa> "Cold Hands From New York" was number two. Exactly how NYC affected me.
<dlcusa> Lori. I'm sure no relation.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: You can play guitar?
<dlcusa> Some say so.
<SiFuh> Well choosing a song like Gypsy usually requires a person to be quite adept to the sounds of the guitar
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Wish I can play.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: her mother won't let me take the piano and I don't want to play the piano near her mother.
<dlcusa> I fingerpick, not as well, but mostly been plays bas since 1980. http://dlcusa.net/SATB/SampleSong.html
<dlcusa> Wishing isn't sufficient.
<SiFuh> I never bought a Guitar to learn because I have way too much in my life to do than strum strings.
<SiFuh> Harmonica is fine. I do enjoy a good honk on the harp
lavaball has joined #crux-social
<SiFuh> A black page with purple writing and some licence links?
<SiFuh> Oh I found it
<SiFuh> oooooohhhhh
<zorz> Harmonica brings Harmony :Pp
<dlcusa> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnPSbg9fdEU Howard Levy is unbelievable.
<SiFuh> zorz: I would play the harmonica when I take a bath. Use to wake up the entire family. No one complained even though I am so shit at it
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Yep, you seend that heavy metal guy. Will Wilde?
<zorz> right now i wish to played with a harmonica instead of css... css sucks.
<SiFuh> Go jungle, you got plenty of time in the night at the camp fire to make noise, or music
<SiFuh> Usually the monkeys laugh ;-) fucking monkeys
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Wife bought me a Diatonic Marine Band 1896 C
<dlcusa> That's love.
<SiFuh> She closed the door and ran away when I started making noise
<SiFuh> I think she regrets it
<SiFuh> I usually play a Tremelo. My father plays guitar with diatonics
<SiFuh> I just love the sound of vibrating metal.
<SiFuh> Now I am trying to note bend to the exact note I want which I don't need to do with a tremelo so much.
<SiFuh> Note bending isn't hard. Just getting the right note at the right time, is what is stumping me
<SiFuh> I want to hear the all base blues! But I want to finish song two first. Haha
<SiFuh> dlcusa: So you are on the electric whipper snipper?
<SiFuh> Lead guitarist?
<SiFuh> Or the bass?
<dlcusa> Thinking the notes is the hard part. It's easier for some than others, but the amount of practice has a lot to do with it.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: Note bending is great fun. But getting the right note at the right time is the part that requires practice.
<SiFuh> You can bend notes like an electric guitar on a Harmonica
<dlcusa> I played everything save the drum tracks. I do play drums, too (not for decades, though), but it was easier to use the drum machines for what I was after.
<SiFuh> dlcusa: My father use to say "Yeah, you can play, but you have no soul" HAHAHAHA this is my quest
<SiFuh> dlcusa: That is awesome
<SiFuh> I am a Christian who's been a member of the same Messianic Jewish congregation for over 30 years.
<dlcusa> So you're one of them that say I can play guitar?
<SiFuh> I was like WTF? Then I read the rest and went "Ohhhhh, I see"
<SiFuh> dlcusa: This music is good. The blues version I wanted to hear isn't as good as I hoped. It is wayyyyyy toooo slowwwww
<dlcusa> "Just the facts..." --Joe Friday
<SiFuh> 7th Heaven Or Bust is good and so is 1.1
<dlcusa> That was the point. Miles' original is quite brisk.
<SiFuh> He was trying to get her wedding ring out of the aircondition vent and asked his son to drop a ball down to see if he dislodge it. And Jill came home, and used a croquet ball and dropped it down the vent without telling Tim and it smacked him in the head. Then she did it a second time.
<SiFuh> Which I thought was extreme and should be a court case
<dlcusa> You need to be aware of Howard Levy.
<SiFuh> I listened and I do know
<dlcusa> Good.
<SiFuh> But what about Big Mama Thornton
<dlcusa> Some people are more soulful than others, but everybody's got some amount of soul, even if it's microscopic. Her's is not microscopic.
<SiFuh> Heheh
<dlcusa> Likewise Janis Joplin.
<SiFuh> Toots Thielemans
<SiFuh> Different style but still awesome. I think he uses a Chromatic
<dlcusa> Better stop--this could impact the day's productivity.
<SiFuh> hahaha
<SiFuh> I will drink a shot vodka. Today, I will check her parents wall because I did two coats of paint and ran out
<SiFuh> I didn't paint around the powerpoint though. The guy (Friend of ours) is a retard at putting plaster on walls.
<SiFuh> So I replastered it last night
<SiFuh> And I got a some electrical work as well tomorrow to do there
<SiFuh> I still haven't done their electrical gate yet. Hopefully I will do it all this weekend
<dlcusa> I am called away once again...
<SiFuh> Why they don't call you dlcusa?
<SiFuh> Very much correct
<SiFuh> zorz: Shinobi in Shogun 'Woohoo'
<zorz> did not online yet
<SiFuh> Yeah but you are a girl
<zorz> scp greatest invention ever
<SiFuh> You don't use manly ways
<SiFuh> sfp?
<SiFuh> sftp
<zorz> slowly slowly...
<zorz> hahaha as you say... be a man rm -rf ~/.config
<zorz> hahahaha
<SiFuh> Did I?
<zorz> similar,,, you said .config??? be a man!
<SiFuh> Did I?
<zorz> yes
<SiFuh> You need glasses
<zorz> nothing wrongs withit.
<SiFuh> The glasses or the .config?
<SiFuh> I didn't say anything that you are suggesting so stop lying.
<SiFuh> There are jokes and there are lies. What you are saying is 100% a lie
<SiFuh> Did you see the image I posted for remiliascarlet above? It is so true..
<zorz> nope, moment...
<zorz> fuck this is nice!
<zorz> SiFuh: its to the point!
<SiFuh> zorz: As I said, they are sucking the joy out of life
<zorz> i think, next generations will be addicted to AI as the before ones in social media.
<zorz> but AI destroys thinking.
<zorz> it is bad.
<farkuhar> according to SiFuh, AI = glorified copy+paste. Whenever we use it, we're tapping into the hive mind of our fellow species-members. It's almost like the "rotating ownership" that remiliascarlet mentioned above, but with the duration of "idea ownership" measured in milliseconds rather than years.
<zorz> yes farkuhar now it accelerates... its bad and good...
<zorz> first bad, later good...
<farkuhar> You own an idea only in the brief interval before blasting it out to social media post or handing it over to an AI engine. After that, ownership passes among everyone who retweets or uses the AI.
<SiFuh> Hmm, not the words I'd use, also seems you are glueing together sentences from different topics.
<SiFuh> But in General, it is a glorified copy and paste, the god of plageriazing and it is stealing from the entire collective of recorded human designs. So a slight yes.
<SiFuh> farkuhar: Well this can work in reverse. Who was the Sandy Hook killer? Alex Jones?
<SiFuh> Seems to be trending everywhere. This would probably mislead the infamous copy and paste machine.
<zorz> SiFuh: now that i remember no issues with trackpad... and overall experience is very smooth and fast. Somehow i did not deactivate fast boot in bios. I thought that I had deactivated all but I had missed this one.
<SiFuh> And Adam Lanza's name dissappears
<zorz> trackpad=touchpad.
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: I had beef strips cooked in Ghee for 24 hours, and 48 hours. The 48 hour version was so good, I did what I rarely do and ate everything in one sitting.
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: I usually eat in a 4 hour window. So if I start at 8pm I will eat small pieces until midnight.
<SiFuh> farkuhar: From what I have researched. Real AI doesn't exist yet. And I doubt it ever will. But I could be wrong.
<SiFuh> Those people in the car that were slaughtered in Gaza were killed 'according to Israel' by AI
<SiFuh> car(s)
<SiFuh> zorz: I wanted to mention to you something on the weekend but you talk a lot of shit. So I forgot
<zorz> SiFuh: never mind
<SiFuh> Do you remember the discussion with Donald Trump where Iran said "We are going to send missiles, do not attack us?"
<SiFuh> And Trump let it happen because it was respect. 'You strike us we strike back.'
<SiFuh> zorz: How many died in Israel from the Iran strike?
<zorz> null
<SiFuh> You uninformed buffoon
<SiFuh> Prescription Drugs Are the Leading Cause of Death
<zorz> is this a reason to speak bad?
<SiFuh> Prescription drugs killing people is speaking bad?
<zorz> before that
<SiFuh> The Buffoon thing?
<zorz> yes
<SiFuh> That's a soft insult. It's what you'd say to a child.
<zorz> okay
<SiFuh> It has a stronger meaning in Greek?
<SiFuh> I remember in Thailand I was offered beer and I said "No good" and everyone was shocked. I also remember saying that something a person did was 'stupid'. Yet the two meanings were highly impolite in Thai language even though I was speaking English
<SiFuh> zorz: Did I hurt your feelings?
<zorz> feelings?
<SiFuh> I don't know how to explain that one. I just know that is the word
<SiFuh> Someone else should step in and explain for me
<zorz> its not the words, or the meanning of the words.... is the attitude that matters.
<SiFuh> Does it help your feelings if I had no attitude at all?
<zorz> feelings?
<SiFuh> Iran hasn't killed anyone.
<zorz> you want WW with Nukes?
<SiFuh> They have the most precise missile on the planet yet they have been honorable and only return strikes but not target any human life.
<SiFuh> Trump discovered this during his presidency .
<zorz> and basically Iran was scoutting
<SiFuh> No
<SiFuh> They were showing an act of superiority without hurting anyone
<zorz> telling them... that we caan hurt if we wish to hurt
<SiFuh> Yes
<SiFuh> Actually I find it funny that the President of the USA (Donald Trump) explains a story where Iran needed to defend itself but didn't want to start a war and told Trump. We are going to do this but don't consider it an act of war. (Military might) and the fact checkers call Trump a liar!
<SiFuh> I want Fact Checkers banned from existance!
<zorz> dont care... what i do i care.
<SiFuh> You know the fact checkers say there is no UN migration agenda to be completed by 2030 and yet the UN says they have to migrate before 2030?
<SiFuh> zorz: You got PMS now?
<zorz> PMS ?
<SiFuh> Or stressed because you going Island hopping in a few days?
<SiFuh> zorz: Yeah PMS. I don't have tapons to offer you because the wife forgot to buy.
<SiFuh> Maybe I ride the BMX to the pharmacy tomorrow and ask them to give me a box
<zorz> no stressed.... working on html, javascript, css which i hate
<SiFuh> You seem moody
<ppetrov^> zorz, do you know javascript?
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: Oh no!
<ppetrov^> wut?
<SiFuh> remiliascarlet: ^^^^
<zorz> yes,,, since my sql data is perfect from the scrape. thinking,,, how to take the most out of the data.
<ppetrov^> i should read sth up?
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: No, there is a javascript common hatred here
<zorz> i read... and do. but it takes time
<zorz> ppetrov^: i read... and do. but it takes time
<zorz> ppetrov^: wanna see my javascript. ?
<ppetrov^> sigh... we wanted to make an R Shiny app communicated dynamically with a nested html with js content
<ppetrov^> js: I do not understand anything
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: That's the best news ever
<zorz> ppetrov^: i used to be like you....
<ppetrov^> that I do not understand anything from js? :P
<ppetrov^> zorz, yea man, good you didnt end up like me...
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: Yes, but don't worry. JS guys also don't understand
<zorz> ppetrov^: better dont dive in to it.
<ppetrov^> heh
<ppetrov^> a, sorry: huehue
<ppetrov^> a friend of mine is a java developer and he told me js people have a peculiar mindset
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: To be honest JS should be called Gobbledygook, but that word sounds too cool for JS
<zorz> i just needed a notes list on my site, some clicks, the navbar to hide and date had to be in js.
<zorz> vanilla.js is ok, if you need it.... but all the rest like react, vue.... fuckin hell
<zorz> dbus fucks openbsd

<SiFuh> ppetrov^: Reminds me flash on websites. Another thing to avoid
<zorz> how did you remember flash
<SiFuh> With my brain?
<zorz> flash,,, winamp, vlc
<zorz> icq the otherday
<zorz> hahaa
<SiFuh> Winamp, Winamp, really whopps the Lama's ass
<SiFuh> Dude at restaurant had an 'uhoh'
<SiFuh> ICQ!
<SiFuh> zorz: I ain't injected so my brain still works

<ppetrov^> renders some winamp skins better than Audacious, actually
<ppetrov^> stuff with transparencies
<SiFuh> Sleep, today is gym day so I will be exercise until I collapse. Usually 12 hours.
<SiFuh> ppetrov^: XMMS was the god
<ppetrov^> heh
<ppetrov^> Slackware still ships it
<ppetrov^> Pat dropped it from one release, then added it back in the next
<zorz> ppetrov^: when obsd ? :PPPp
<ppetrov^> m?
<zorz> openbsd
<zorz> us goverment gave 6.4 billion to samsung for expansion in texas.
<zorz> exynos
<ppetrov^> ah, I'd like to try it, but really do not have time to learn a new OS
<zorz> ppetrov^: you do not need to learn anything.... as a matter of time after using obsd you will have plenty of spare time for other activities.
<zorz> archlinux has systemctl, crux is /etc/rc.d, openbsd is rcctl if you think something to know.
