<SiFuh>
I just sent an email to HARO to find out what is the maximum sprocket size I can run and there was a capture that says click on the bicycles to prove you are human. It was a photo of the inside of a bicycle shop so every square had a bicycle in it.

bonjour
zorz_ has quit [Quit: Lost terminal]
<SiFuh>
remiliascarlet: Maybe he shouls say "Boomerang"
<zorz_>
SiFuh: tell me something please... which file system can be read write from both openbsd and linux so i create a common partition for data. only fat32 ?
<SiFuh>
exfat
<SiFuh>
However
<SiFuh>
You cannot keep permissions and attributes
<zorz_>
then fuck this, on the cloud.
<zorz_>
yesterday i formatted the delta. only openbsd today
<SiFuh>
You are better off with ext2 though all though it will be much much slower
farkuhar_ has joined #crux-social
<SiFuh>
I have a 4TB drive that is half exfat and half ext2
<zorz_>
runs great, but it is slow when i use in python bs4 to scrap html run levenhstein fuzzywuzzy and sql.
<SiFuh>
You can use NTFS and MSDOS as well
<SiFuh>
But permissions and attributes will be lost unless you tarball them
<zorz_>
i know i knwo, i read today but... there slow.
<zorz_>
ahhh tarball is interesting
<SiFuh>
filesystems are much slower under OpenBSD
<farkuhar_>
I know MSDOS does not support symlinks, but does NTFS handle them well enough to be a viable alternative to ext2 on a backup drive?
<zorz_>
show i will do an nvme0n1p1 500mb efi esp/ nvme0n1p2 300gb openbsd / nvme0n1p3 300gb data nvme0n1p4 16gb swap and the rest crux in p5
<zorz_>
farkuhar_: i read that ext2 openbsd reads and writes but, ext4 only read.
<farkuhar_>
zorz_: that's probably why the other half of SiFuh's external drive is ext2 rather than ext4.
<zorz_>
farkuhar_: yes :()
<zorz_>
i have an old pc, used to have for a year alpine, last night i updated this morning does not boot. Alpine sucks. now iam installing debian with sysvinit.
<SiFuh>
Why not OpenBSD?
<zorz_>
one problem with the x, dow not load, second problem the usb mouse... i have to unplug it and plug it to work on every boot
<zorz_>
my father uses it..
<zorz_>
SiFuh: you know why i did format yesterday hahaha for librsvg i got upset
<SiFuh>
You make me upset to
<SiFuh>
But I never formatted you
<SiFuh>
HAHAHA
<SiFuh>
zorz_: I seem to remember farkuhar_ having a mouse unplug and plugin issue ;-)
<zorz_>
unistall rust... you cannot uninstall rust in crux. librsvg needs rust to get build.... live tv in firefox-bin does not play without librsvg
<farkuhar_>
zorz_: updating librsvg caused Alpine not to boot?
<zorz_>
why they call it firefox-bin ? :PPp
<SiFuh>
Because it belongs in the bin?"
<zorz_>
farkuhar_: no no, i did a regular update, upgrade... and messed the startx... after upgarde no startx
<zorz_>
in alpine.
<zorz_>
SiFuh: but is not bin
<SiFuh>
zorz_: bin = trash can. Firefox belongs in the trash can.
<farkuhar_>
SiFuh: it wasn't a mouse, it was a tenkeyless keyboard. But the same keyboard works fine with my laptop, so I think it's a problem with my desktop's USB ports.
<SiFuh>
USB issue
<farkuhar_>
The keyboard manufacturer had to halt production of that model for several months, as they switched to a new supplier for their microcontroller. The first batch of new production is probably where all the USB issues are concentrated.
<farkuhar_>
the laptop's USB root hub is apparently able to ignore the microcontroller quirks in the keyboard, but the desktop's USB ports seem to insist on only talking to standards-compliant devices.

<SiFuh>
Must be having USB issues
<zorz_>
me too with openbsd.. in the old pc... i could sort it but no need. anyway is always good to have a debian around.
