<jock> hello!
<minnix[m]> any news if the radxa zero will be supported anytime soon?
<[TheBug]> ohh we all thought you were doing the bring up minnix[m]
<[TheBug]> you mean you don't have it done yet?
<[TheBug]> G'Day jock!

<minnix[m]> [TheBug]: Are you an Armbian developer?

<[TheBug]> minnix[m]: Most I can tell you is I believe Radxa has provided a maintainer for the board, so one would expect them to be working towards support -- however, I can not tell you 'when' or any other info in particiular. I have not heard if any nightlies yet, so assuming not at the moment (could be wrong).
<minnix[m]> Ok I was wanting to know if Armbian takes donation boards, and if so, who I would send a zero to, if they need it that is.
jock has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<[TheBug]> minnix[m]: I do know some of the guys are waiting on deliveries which have been delayed for boards -- but I am not aware of needing any to provide support currently. As mentioned Radxa has provided a maintainer I believe so... hopefully something to happen soon
<minnix[m]> Ok thanks for the info

<c0rnelius> Could always mail it to me! I don't `work for` Armbian though. ;)

<c0rnelius> Am waiting for the board and got the patch set ready for testing. Endless delays.
<[TheBug]> minnix[m]: Usually companies have no issues providing a board for us, the problem is it is rare to by default get a maintainer or funding from the company for our support. As such we have changed the way we decide what is supported / community supported, luckily at this point Radxa has started to provide maintainers for some of their boards, so that means hopefully should start to see some
<[TheBug]> support ofver time. If you want to help, I would suggest you donate or help others on the forum, those are the things that can help the most. :)
<minnix[m]> Ok sounds good
<minnix[m]> c0rnelius: I pre-ordered a few, so don't have them yet
<c0rnelius> Same boat. I pre-ordered one.
<[TheBug]> c0rnelius: where did you order and what model?
<[TheBug]> it seems to me allnetchina has the 4GB model available now
<[TheBug]> with their upgraded shipping to US I usually get in 10-14 days
<[TheBug]> but I am guessing you choose on of the 2GB or so?
<c0rnelius> I created a few test builds for someone I know who has two. Says the builds boot, but there is currently an HDMI audio issue. Which I for sure won't be able to sort until I have my hands on one.
<minnix[m]> i ordered the 2GB 8GB eMMc model from Ameridroid. Expected shipment this month but you never know
<c0rnelius> [TheBug]: Ameridroid, 4GB 16GB eMMC
<[TheBug]> ahh
<[TheBug]> I just be honest
<[TheBug]> I always buy Radxa direct from them
<[TheBug]> which is Allnet
<c0rnelius> How?
<c0rnelius> Oh
<[TheBug]> and their chat agent Norbert is awesome
<c0rnelius> I didn't see a direct buy option
<[TheBug]> if you ever have a question just check that chat and ask they pretty helpful
<[TheBug]> yeah let me link you so you have
<c0rnelius> Like when I buy hardkernel stuff I just get it from them usually. I dislike Ameridoid to be honest
<[TheBug]> yeah its confusing since they use different company name for store than for boards
<[TheBug]> so it kinda throws you
<[TheBug]> but they are the direct seller for Radxa
<[TheBug]> um my recommendation is
<[TheBug]> always buy the upgraded shipping
<c0rnelius> [TheBug]: Sweet. Next one I get I will just do that.
<[TheBug]> even with it should usually be cheaper than order from Ameridroid
<[TheBug]> the only benefit to Ameridroid is if in stock, it will ship fast
<[TheBug]> you still wait as I said 10-14 days with DHL from China from Allnet with upgraded ship
<c0rnelius> I don't know. I find their shipping kind of slow but that could just be me.
<[TheBug]> but you have to use upgraded shipping cause if you don't it will end up on a shipping container in ocean for 4 months
<c0rnelius> Sounds exciting. I'll keep that in mind.
<c0rnelius> When I got the C4 from Hardkernel I had it in like 3 days.
stipa has joined #armbian
<[TheBug]> Yeah it can be fast, I am only referencing my experience to east coast USA
<[TheBug]> since most of their stuff originates to California, if you are west coast it will probably be faster
<[TheBug]> China - DHL*
<c0rnelius> I'm about as East and South as you can get. Any further and I would be in Cuda.
<[TheBug]> haha
<[TheBug]> Miami
<c0rnelius> Cuba*
<c0rnelius> yeap
<chewitt> c0rnelius what's the HDMI audio issue?
<c0rnelius> chewitt: He tells me alsamixer doesn't come up and he gets dai-link error I believe?
<chewitt> ye olde lack of userspace config then
<c0rnelius> chewitt: Whats ur recommendation
<chewitt> this is the script LE uses to set all the mixer settings
<c0rnelius> bookmarked.
<chewitt> which is something I hacked up some time ago as it's useful to get some of the compatibles from device-treee
<c0rnelius> So its script run during the boot process?
<[TheBug]> c0rnelius: as a random aside, I read somewhere in one of our dev channel or somewhere that Radxa is actually currently completing those 2GB boards and that they should be in stock end this week or next, so my hope is you have it in maybe 2 weeks, assuming a week to get to Ameridroid and then on to you.
<chewitt> I had some fun with mine
<chewitt> it appears to have lost the SD card slot
<c0rnelius> oops
<chewitt> so it was fiddly as arse to get an image installed again, took quite a while to get a working combination of cables to use pyamlboot from macOS
<chewitt> and that USB boot switch is shit
<chewitt> I still love the size tho :)
<c0rnelius> tried the overclock yet?
<chewitt> I've no need for it, so no
<c0rnelius> I mean it can do 2GHz so why not :)
