<andrewbaxter> Hello! Is there a way to introspect the wm state/subscribe to events like `sway-msg`'s subscribe? I want to set up a bar based on currently visible windows
<andrewbaxter> Ah okay, I see a similar post from 2021 referencing ristatus. Ristatus has no documentation and hasn't been updated in a year, but reading the code it looks like it at most reports the name of the layout/current window title, nothing about the overall tree structure.  Other answers at the time were something about gluing things together with
<andrewbaxter> scripts is bad, which I generally agree with, but in lieu of a better replacement that sounds like a cop-out
<andrewbaxter> For anyone else who ends up here

<yhaidar> would MR1100 allow for synchronizing keyboard event between two surfaces?
<yhaidar> I just am curious, I have been having fun and trying to implement this "feature" on every wayland compositor that I have tried

<leon-p> yhaidar: no, since the WM protocol implies an input scheme where only the focused window gets any keyboard input
<leon-p> feel free to leave a comment about that though 🤷
<leon-p> I don't see the usecase myself, but maybe if you explain yours

<yhaidar> basically tmux sync thing. It is hard even for me to find use cases for it. I don't think it is worth asking for this '=D
<LarstiQ> clusterssh used to do that on X
