<__toor__>
the xdg stuff is still a mystery to me. I have bit-identical /usr on two different machines (but /etc might be different, as well as ~ folder)
<__toor__>
On one machine I get the portal-wlr and -gtk apps running automatically when I start firefox in flatpak, and in the other, I don't
<__toor__>
Is there some way to detect that the dependent portals are not starting?
<__toor__>
, why they are not starting

__toor__: the missing bit is auto-launch on socket connection (can't remember if in this case it's systemd or dbus which does it) which requires DBus to be aware of the graphical session
<leon-p>
some people use that dbus launch command to start river
<leon-p>
if have this command in my init: dbus-update-activation-environment --systemd WAYLAND_DISPLAY XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=river
<leon-p>
s/^if/I/
<leon-p>
(i also launch river with systemd-cat, but I don't think that does anything to the dbus env and is also no longer necessary, since river now logs to syslog itself anyway)

Hello, is there any way to keep a view always focused, if new views pop up, keep it "zoomed".
<Nickli>
isnt that what Sticky tags are for? havent used those
catman has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<Guest18>
Can't find what sticky tags are, is not in riverctl(1)?
<Nickli>
think so
<__toor__>
leon-p: I have the same command. I saw this in the log:
<__toor__>
Error calling StartServiceByName for org.freedesktop.impl.portal.desktop.gtk: Process org.freedesktop.impl.portal.desktop.gtk exited with status 1
<__toor__>
that wasn't showing in the other machine
<__toor__>
so I have something to work with :)
<Nickli>
Guest18, or it was mentioned in default config
<Nickli>
iirc it was next to floating tags or scratchpad
<Guest18>
Can't find it tho
<__toor__>
leon-p: You were right I was missing WAYLAND_DESKTOP in the dbus-session thingy in river/init
<__toor__>
now it works!
<Guest18>
It doesn't seem possible. Is it possible to create a keybinding that triggers only when the `Super Key` is pressed?
sm222 has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds]
<leon-p>
Guest18: yes, you need to find the regular key name of the Super key (which is its modifier name)
<Guest18>
And how would it be this is the command I'd like to spawn after pressing Super only `riverctl map normal Super D spawn '/usr/bin/random app`
