<buZz> xmn: cook :)) what is it?
<buZz> cool*
<xmn> hah, cook through me off :P
<buZz> lol
<buZz> threw*
<buZz> #include <english>
<buZz> lol
<xmn> It's a simple pebble client written in python I believe
<buZz> for the watch?
<xmn> I just threw*up inmymouth :P
<xmn> yeah for the watch
<xmn> I use it every day for music, notifications and timer etc.
<xmn> it works with ubports and sailfish and meamo
<buZz> man, i sooo wish qtwebbrowser would just autosearch on urls that fail to load
<buZz> nice xmn
<buZz> i considered many watches since i loct my Seiko UC2000 , but they all seem lame/walledgardens
<buZz> lost*
<buZz> 'mebble pebble' isnt given a lot of hits
<xmn> I never wanted a smart watch, until someone gave it to me and it worked with my n900. I don't really want any other watch so far or more features.
<buZz> but, if its py3 already, you probably barely need to do any porting
<buZz> gui is qt5 or gtk2?
<xmn> yup, which work great fo me, since I'm not a programmer :P
<xmn> all in terminal
<buZz> UC2000 is awesome, mine came with 2 qwerty keyboards and a printer :D
<xmn> nice
<buZz> ah well, i'm not sure we have a real way to run terminal programs as 'apps' but i guess just wrap in osso-xterm
<buZz> icon , .desktop file (iirc) , and maybe done
<buZz> well, and then make it a .deb :P
<buZz> thats rocketscience to me
<xmn> yup exactly, you make an desktop icon and it will just launch a terminal
<buZz> but there are many tools
<buZz> (to make a .deb)
<buZz> ah maebble
<buZz> catchy name :P
<buZz> is it actually more of a daemon/serveer?
<buZz> -e
<xmn> yupper
<buZz> > A reminder that Maebble users need to manually toggle the settings.py when daylight savings begins and ends.
<buZz> gah :D
<xmn> yup That one of the few thing I helped with :)
<buZz> ^_^
<xmn> a pain, but hey it an old watch and phone that nobody is maintaining except the users.
<buZz> :)

<norayr> >mebble pebble client for maemo
<norayr> xmn, i didn't know about it. will try to forward port it to leste.
<norayr> >all seem lame/walledgardens
<norayr> yes, unless you have an app like amazfish, which works with them. pinetime, also is by design free.
<norayr> xmn, what's your type of pebble? i have classic and se2+hr. my friends use pebble times.
<norayr> >if its py3 already
<norayr> i doubt it, didn't see anything for the old maemo for py3.
<norayr> wow.
<norayr> >all in terminal
<norayr> uc2000 - omg, i am impressed. how does it connect to the computer? com port?
<norayr> under sailfish only pebble classic (and possibly time) is supported, pebble 2 uses bt lte, which doesn't work in sailfish for some reason.
<norayr> buuut... amazfish author somehow bypassed the limitations on the app level. i don't understand how. but yes, amazfish needs to be ported, packaged.
<norayr> hopefully it uses qt version available for beowulf.
<norayr> it works with amazfit devices, as well as with pinewatch.
<Wizzup> we have a happy pinetab user here :)
<Wizzup> the orientation sensor doesn't work yet, but otherwise he's quite happy
<Wizzup> says it is much more snappy than plamo on the device (not sure what they do)
<Wizzup> I think we can probably make it a bit faster still, but it's not bad

<buZz> but getting the '2G' icon in statusmenu from there, ~8 minutes is the fastest i got to see it

<auanta> there are some parts that could be trimmed

<auanta> @buZz I have a PinePhone Braveheart edition
<auanta> the old one
<auanta> Actually I upgraded the board when explorer came out
<auanta> i'll try xzcat
<auanta> firmware updates? that doesn't sound like the usual workflow for pp
<auanta> the only proprietary portion is the modem and i dont think i need to update that; apart from that it's just the OS image
<auanta> could i use towboot to flash to eMMC or do i have to edit the image first?
<auanta> wiki says edit the image, but the infomation also seems old
<auanta> but this would be say for example if you want to set the root partition on the emmc and put /home on the sd
<buZz> no clue which this is :P
<buZz> you did use dd to write it? and made sure to write to card, not to partition?
* buZz just guessing
<buZz> someone rewrote dd in a electron app :D its so hilarious because it does break so often and also takes >2gb of ram
<auanta> yes, to sdb not sdb1
<auanta> what in the..
<auanta> _why_ would anyone rewrite dd
<auanta> lmao
<auanta> whoa hold on.. i just booted
<buZz> w00t
<buZz> boot on pp does leave the screen black for a long time
<buZz> might be a nice area of improving
<auanta> i did remove the battery last night to keep it from discharging but i guess i just needed to give it a lil jump
<auanta> or that.. maybe the screen
<auanta> this is gorgeous though
<buZz> :)
<buZz> nokia really paid a lot of ppl for a slick gui
<freemangordon> auanta: how do I know if I have braveheart or later?
<freemangordon> ah, it is written :D
<buZz> auanta: the rewrite is called etcher btw
<auanta> which one did you buy? the phones had names depending when you bought them @freemangordon
<freemangordon> on the piece of paper that's in the box
<freemangordon> I didn't buy it
<auanta> @buZz OH MY
<freemangordon> they sent it to me
<freemangordon> as a dev device
<auanta> @freemangordon sweet :)
<freemangordon> but I see "Congratulations on receiving our Brave Heart edition..."
<freemangordon> auanta: anyway, do you see screen flickering on your device while it boots?
<auanta> no.. let me reboot and see
<freemangordon> weird
<freemangordon> while it boots it flickers every time @ symbol is printed
<freemangordon> flickering stops few seconds (5? 10?) before h-d appears
<freemangordon> Wizzup: how do you think. is it enough to revert https://github.com/maemo-leste-upstream-forks/clutter-0.8/commit/6f753308446ff833d8c2713357cdc97d94dcb15b or I shall remove mesa hack?
<freemangordon> hmm, I guess I can test
<buZz> testing ftw :)
<auanta> just rebooted and i do not see flickering
<auanta> the image i'm using is from July 31
<auanta> and the pinephone board i did upgrade, so.. let me check..
<freemangordon> does not matter, this happens here since we moved to 5.15
<freemangordon> "upgrade"?
<freemangordon> WTYM?
<buZz> wdym*
<buZz> :)
<freemangordon> what do you mean
<buZz> yeah, d, no t
<auanta> lessee i bought a new mainboard august last year
<auanta> what version would that be..
<freemangordon> ah, that could be it
<freemangordon> maybe they fixed something
<auanta> i think so. i hope so :P
<auanta> there's no revision number in my records XD
<freemangordon> anyway
<buZz> maybe finally notifies OS of incoming call?
<buZz> :P
<auanta> i already ignore all my calls so thats fine lol
<buZz> lol
<freemangordon> hmm, something is broken, out of the blue commands in terminal stall for 20-30 seconds
<freemangordon> uSD most-probably
<buZz> ss
<buZz> oops
<auanta> honestly, this is better than mobian imo
<buZz> auanta: also in 'millions of USD invested' ;)

<auanta> @freemangordon do you have spare on hand to check?
<freemangordon> I don;t think so

<freemangordon> yep, seem it is uSD card
<auanta> man.. i can't connect to wifi.
<freemangordon> reboot it
<auanta> i did
<Wizzup> pinephone wifi is also broken for me fwiw
<Wizzup> on -devel
<auanta> ok not just me.. well my image came from here https://maedevu.maemo.org/images/pinephone/
<auanta> where did yours?
<freemangordon> hmm, after I connected the card to the PC, it somehow recovered
<freemangordon> weird
<auanta> does -devel mean you generated the image from git?

<Wizzup> auanta: no, the images are without devel
<auanta> oh i c
<Wizzup> auanta: the switch for wlan is ok yeah?
<Wizzup> I saw unbalanced pm/pin msgs in dmesg for the wifi driver
<freemangordon> Wizzup: here, after I upgraded to -devel I see no issues with wifi so far
<freemangordon> ok, iowait jumped to 100% again
<Wizzup> yeah, not sure how it works
<Wizzup> freemangordon: I also have iowait issues, but that is on my d4
<Wizzup> I thought my usd is dying
<freemangordon> ok, but I just connected that to my laptop nad fsck went with ~60MB/s read
<Wizzup> d4 or pp?
<freemangordon> I compile clutter ATM, but that should not put that much pressure on IO
<freemangordon> PP
<freemangordon> I would say this is kernel issue
<freemangordon> lemme see if I can downgrade kernel
<freemangordon> hmm, it recovered
<auanta> the kill switch? it's in the on position. let me.. check dmesg. ah its too long. what should i grep. pin?
