<freemangordon> Wizzup: I think it was like that before the changes
<freemangordon> lemme see if I can fix that
mardy has joined #maemo-leste
<uvos__> yes this was allways broken
<uvos__> (vkb)
<freemangordon> fixed it, want to do some more improvements though

<Wizzup> btw, working on the news post now
<freemangordon> great
<freemangordon> please upgrade and have a look at (and maybe include in the post) vkb
<Wizzup> ok
<Wizzup> freemangordon: yep, looks fixed
<freemangordon> shift/backspace buttons should look better, too. and also nuerix/menu buttons in portrait
<Wizzup> yep
<freemangordon> Wizzup: whom shall I report issues with PP kernel?
<Wizzup> not sure, maybe rafael2k, but he seems to come and go :)
<freemangordon> yeah
<Wizzup> maybe file an issue and tag him
<freemangordon> will open an issue on his repo
<Wizzup> 'his repo'?
<Wizzup> hmm, why not ours?
<Wizzup> but ok, fine
<Wizzup> it'll just be hard to track it there
<freemangordon> ok, lemme see if I can still repro
<freemangordon> unfortunately yes
<Wizzup> do you get usbnet on the pp?
uvos__ has quit [Ping timeout: 250 seconds]
<freemangordon> didn;t try
<freemangordon> shall I?
<Wizzup> maybe just plug in the cable and see yeah
uvos__ has joined #maemo-leste
<freemangordon> nothing seems to happen
<Wizzup> ok
<Wizzup> yeah I see the same thing
<Wizzup> maybe it's disabled in the config or something, but it's kinda annoying since it makes debugging so much harder
uvos__ has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<freemangordon> ugh, this kernel is so broken it is hard to even downgrade :)
<Wizzup> hm, what do you mean?
<freemangordon> sudo apt-get install linux-image-pine64=5.15.21-1+2m7.1 took 5 minutes

<Wizzup> I don't have I/O problems, I think-
<Wizzup> not sure
<freemangordon> try to compile something
<freemangordon> BTW, aren;t we supposed to distribute the firmware for various devices?
<freemangordon> on PP that is
<Wizzup> what firmware is missing for you
<freemangordon> [ 12.324846] anx7688 0-0028: boot firmware load failed (you may need to flash FW to anx7688 first)
<freemangordon> [ 11.520796] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: firmware file rtl_bt/rtl8723cs_xx_fw.bin not found
<freemangordon> [ 80.784575] sun6i-csi 1cb0000.csi: Direct firmware load for gc2145-init.bin failed with error -2
<Wizzup> the last one is camera firmware, the bluetooth one we also have I think
<freemangordon> WTYM "we have"?
<Wizzup> * self: ema invoice van ofiyaa mailen (heb ik de in post)
<Wizzup> * self: Ema werk invoice sturen
<Wizzup> errr
<Wizzup> (sorry those were personal notes :()
<freemangordon> np
<Wizzup> so that's the bt one
<freemangordon> I don;t understand them either ways :D
<Wizzup> maybe we have not packaged it yet
<Wizzup> that is for the csi one I guess?
<freemangordon> the point was - those should be installed by making dependency in the device specific meta, no?
<Wizzup> sure, I thought they were installed :)
<Wizzup> so now I'm gathering links
<freemangordon> nope
<freemangordon> at least not here, and I am up-to-date
<Wizzup> the anx7688 seems to be a usb-c hmdi bridge

<sunshavi>
<sunshavi> ow
<sunshavi> sorry. I have usb ethernet activated on opi+2e. The procedure should be similar for the PP
<Wizzup> the pp just lacks kernel config I think
<sunshavi> on my case it was a change on dts and loading the g_ether module
<sunshavi> after if usb0 was shown
<Wizzup> yes, and it worked just fine for us
<Wizzup> just a kernel config disabled it I think
<sunshavi> then just give an ip to it
<Wizzup> either that or the path in sys changed
<sunshavi> has You inspected the dts?
<sunshavi> search for otg
<sunshavi> if it is otg it is ok
<sunshavi> if it is not You would need to replace host by otg
<Wizzup> I am not going to do that atm since the solution is likely more simple
* Wizzup bbl
<Wizzup> but thanks for the info
<sunshavi> ok

<udder> i install latest image for n900 first time, after change some locale settings it looks like kernel crash and image wont boot anymore (just black screen).

<udder> i catch black screen again
<udder> i think this is related to low power modes
<Wizzup> hmm, does it happen if you press a certain button?
<uvos> n900 dosent really hit any low power modes
<udder> Wizzup: i dont know exactly, possibly shit happen after unlock screen. i found that i cant connect to wifi ap, so i try to reboot (by normal way via power button menu). but than u-boot do not detect sdcard. within fremantle wifi works only at little distance ap, and sdcards are not readed at all.
<udder> than i try connect charger before power on. magic: u-boot detect sdcard, but Leste kernel shows black screen.
<udder> Fremantle kernel wont boot after that once.
<udder> sometimes u-boot starts with disabled backlight
<Wizzup> that is normal @ backlight
<Wizzup> the other stuff I have to figure out
<Wizzup> you say wifi doesn't work?
<udder> dmesg says that ap do not ack (or something like this)
<udder> currently i succesfully boot into leste and everything work again
<Wizzup> if u-boot does not see the sd card, does removing the battery solve it? (just to unpower it)
<udder> no
<Wizzup> hmm
<udder> it work again only after connect charger
