<juri_> is that after a kernel update?
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> I am a bit worried about the powering I tried to switch to micro usb cable and now it's booting
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> I don't know if my jumper wire causing some issue
<juri_> yeah. :)
<juri_> tl;dr: at the point you start kernel, a lot of power is consumed, compared to earlier in the boot process.
<juri_> so, that's likely power supply related.
<archetech> yep

<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> xr819 is a tough one....
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> I did some work on this
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> @foutkassir what kernel version is this?
<archetech> ya some chips arent worth the troubel vs using a good linux usb stick modem
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> I am about to throw it in the trash 🙂 just trying not to give up
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> 5.15.93
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> Ok yeah thats the one (5.15) I got it working on the last Allwinner board with
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> Its been a while though
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> It needed a dts chanfe
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> It needed a dts change
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> Mmmm do you have any good resource for that ?
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> Unfortunately I'd have to dig to find it
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> I did this updating months ago

<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> no worries
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> the issue is that it's loaded that xradio
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> ```
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> sudo modprobe -r xradio_wlan.ko
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> modprobe: FATAL: Module xradio_wlan.ko not found.

<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> the issue is that it's loaded that xradio

<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> tried to do
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> ```
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> insmod xradio_wlan.ko
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> insmod: ERROR: could not insert module xradio_wlan.ko: File exists
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> ```
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> check wpa_supplicant I can see the following
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> ```
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> wpa_supplicant[479]: nl80211: deinit ifname=wlan0 disabled_11b_rates=0
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> wpa_supplicant[479]: Could not set interface wlan0 flags (UP): Invalid argument

<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> ```
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> just wondering what did change I did change power supply to use my 5V 3A adapter but that sounds weird – module is loaded, firware is there but I cannot see it from rfkill neither ifconfig
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> the issue is that it's loaded the xradio
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> ```
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> rmmod xradio_wlan.ko
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> rmmod: ERROR: Module xradio_wlan is in use

<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> @foutkassir it loaded the xradio_wlan "module".. that doesn't necessarily mean it is loadig the device itself...
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> ah I see thanks for clarification
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> @foutkassir it loaded the xradio_wlan "module".. that doesn't necessarily mean it is loading the device itself...which it sounds like it does not successfully do from the invalid arguments
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> If I remember correctly this was one of the problemds I was having too
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> If I remember correctly this was one of the problems I was having too
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> I can't do it until tomorrow but I'll get that hardware out and see what is configured
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> (Not at the location)
<DC-IRC> <foutkassir> No problem thanks alot for help and explanation
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> np
