Trying to cross-compile so I copied /lib/ /usr/lib /usr/include but the linker on my host can't find crt1.o,crti.o,-lstdc++,-lm,-lc,crtn.o so I tried "find /usr/ -name crti*" on target and no match..
<bjoscar>
archetech: if you refer to getting sysroot from the device
<bjoscar>
"Building sysroot from device" uses rsync to get these folders
<archetech>
I build qt alot on my N2+ never seen that way
<archetech>
whats reason for building vs just apt install qt
<bjoscar>
I don't want to compile on the device
<archetech>
why not I do
<bjoscar>
How do you get your source files to the device?
<archetech>
funny im also building qt6 on LFS x86
<archetech>
im in early stage
<archetech>
deps and such fr source
<archetech>
wget from ssh session gets me anything
<bjoscar>
You run creator, design studio and what not on your computer and then when you want to compile it you just use wget to get your project over to the device and then compile?

<archetech>
I use the blfs book qt5 page then adapt it to qt6
<bjoscar>
So you work on the device then? Because that is not gonna work for me
<archetech>
make -j2 overnight works on the sbc
<archetech>
if all your deps are right

archetech: Thank you, it's very kind but it doesn't solve my problem. I need to be able to work on my project from my PC because the device will not be accessible always
<archetech>
i c like app dev eh
<archetech>
im still not quite sure ya know what ya want cuz just building qt6 on x86 wont give ya a dev environment just a build of qt6 to transfer
<archetech>
a qt6 dev env would be like a qemu aarch64 instance that boots up and you can ssh into
<bjoscar>
You got a point. I've stared myself blind at this for so long now I'm not sure. I'm still a beginner as well.
<bjoscar>
My experience is that I need a compiler that can be run on host(x86) and compile for target(aarch64)... But installing Qt natively on the target should achieve being able to run the binary so hmmm...
<bjoscar>
Like you've been saying
<bjoscar>
So the reason I do need that qt6 build is for compiling qt applications for the target I guess
<bjoscar>
Qemu is to replace the actual device for testing. I still would need to build the application for aarch64
<archetech>
ive been building qt5 since first release beginner lol
<bjoscar>
No, that's not what I meant :D
<archetech>
search for what others have done
<bjoscar>
I meant I am tired and also a beginner
<archetech>
ok
<bjoscar>
I've done that for 12h a day for 3 days now
<bjoscar>
I think need to go sleep
<bjoscar>
ty for help!
<archetech>
ok

<meteyou> is it no longer possible to use a userpatches/config-default.conf for build options?
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> which you call with ./compile.sh armbian-images
<Armbian-Discord>
<meteyou> ah ok! thx"
<Armbian-Discord>
<Ozfer> what's the point of Amrbian x86
Masterphi has quit [Quit: Masterphi]
<Armbian-Discord>
<IgorPec> its clean and lean debian or cleaned ubuntu based os that works well also on x86. we use it internally for testing and reference
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> nekomancer: Canonical has ordered anyone outside of Ubuntu"tm" to stop using Flatpaks
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Be prepared for them to get meaner about it in the future.. for now its just an "encouragement"

so what.

hope they will not ban flatpaks.

<Tenkawa> ahhh... this says it all:
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> This is a transitional dummy package. It can safely be removed.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> .
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> firefox is now replaced by the firefox snap.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> the new description for the deb pkg firefox
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> that's different. that's firefox package, not firefox-esr
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> but I ca't find esr in anything now...
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> firefox has been hickjacked into a snap ( 🤮 ) for a while now
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> yeah, they simple disappeared with it
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> yeah agreed
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> it's still in Debian normally, from bullseye to sid
<Armbian-Discord>
<rpardini> so frak Ubuntu, their loss. I am fed up with their antics
