<Jay> hello all, I've joined this server in search of assistance with my orange pi 3 LTS. I can't seem to connect to any wifi networks despite being able to view and attempt a connection. It will attempt to connect and the status message is "Configuring Wi-Fi network connection '<network name>'"
<DC-IRC>
<Jay> After it has run its course through all the wifi networks and failed to connect to all of them, the list of wifi networks disappears and I can't seem to get it back unless I restart. It might be that I need to fetch some updates to the network driver or something but I'm running the latest desktop version of Armbian from https://www.armbian.com/orangepi3-lts/

<SWHEET> ok.. so I can't sftp to my new bananapi m5 system running Armbian 23.02 bullseye. I can ssh just fine but not sftp. I looked at the sshd_config and the subsystem for sftp is loaded and the settings look guy but whenever I try to connect .. it looks like it connects, exchanges keys, no errors but then immediately disconnects .. I've tried with my user account, also as root, same thing. What am I missing, where should I look? I tried to googl

<spyynz> does anyone know anything about how Seagate drives dont function correctly on linux? I'm using Armbian and I have a Seagate HDD plugged into a powered USB hub so I know it's getting enough power. I have seen online that these drives have issues on linux because of UAS, but I'm unsure of how to disable this on the drive in Armbian specifically. If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know

I boot from sdcard then run install kernel debs in chroot of system installed on emmc. and then seems emmc lost boot — at least wiithout sdcard it only tries to download something via bootp.

nekomancer[m]: does it boot if you keep the SD card inside?

spyynz, I noticed HDD timing out of USB hub, when I had it plugged in, but USB hub wasn't powered in my case
<yang2>
was also getting some interrupts in dmesg
<yang2>
since then I prefer to have USB drive directly on the PC USB socket

<spyynz> yeah my board has a USB 3.0 but I got a powered hub so I know it's not the power that is the issue. I don't think it is the drive failing because I have used it on Windows for some time and right when I used it on Armbian it started showing errors. Some others online say that they have issues with Seagate HDDs and UAS (USB3.0 Attached SCSI protocol) and that seems to be what some of my errors are, but I have no idea how to disable that on Armbi

<c0rnelius> sounds like u need a usb storage quirk. example: `usb-storage.quirks=0x152d:0x0576:u`

<lanefu> read up on `usbstoragequirks` then see `/boot/armbianEnv.txt`
