<Armbian-Discord> <MelonKami> Is it possible to copy my SD disk, write another OS on it, and later write the first copy back? I have some things on my Rockpi that I don't want to just throw out the window, but I wanna test out Home Assistant
<archetech> buy another sdcard lots of writing wears em out
<Armbian-Discord> <MelonKami> Okay, thanks!
<Armbian-Discord> <MelonKami> Can I install docker on Armbian Jammy? I can only find examples with Jammy Jellyfish (whatever that is), and I am afraid I will mess up if I attempt to install it
<Armbian-Discord> <MelonKami> If so, would the process be any different?
<archetech> jammy is ubu 22.04
<Armbian-Discord> <MelonKami> So Jellyfish would be equivalent to Armbian, just made by someone else? Sorry I don't quite understand this as you can probably tell.
<archetech> thern google it
<archetech> then
<Armbian-Discord> <MelonKami> You know you don't have to answer if you don't want to, I was trying to figure it out, but couldn't get anywhere, so I asked here. - Don't read a support channel if you don't like people asking for help lol
<archetech> dont be lazy is the point
<Armbian-Discord> <MelonKami> What would I search, I don't know what "Armbian" or "Jellyfish" is
<Armbian-Discord> <c0rnelius> On the most basic level Armbians version of Jammy Jellyfish is the same as Ubuntu's.
<archetech> I just told you what jammy is armbian is just a customized arm edition of ubu\
<archetech> or debian
<Armbian-Discord> <c0rnelius> Armbian adds it own u-boot, kernels, scripting and service to the mix. Some times for the better and sometimes for the worse. I think they aim for better?
<archetech> which uses a different code name than ubu does jammy vs bullseye
<Armbian-Discord> <MelonKami> Is Jammy Jellyfish and Jammy the same thing? I am just trying to understand what "Jellyfish" means, I understand that Jammy is a version, or whatever you want to call it, that Armbian made for Ubuntu. (correct me if I am wrong), but I don't understand what jellyfish is, is that a part of the name?
<Armbian-Discord> <c0rnelius> yes
<Armbian-Discord> <MelonKami> Ahhh, okay thanks. Well then I should be able to figure this out on my own

<nekomancer[m]> how to use extension? for example zfs or vmware?
<Armbian-Discord> <Werner> That was the old Zero with H2+ SoC. Zero 2 has H616.
<nekomancer[m]> image-output-qcow2 — how to run it?
archetech has quit [Quit: Konversation terminated!]
<Armbian-Discord> <Werner> There was/is a known issue with the vendor image for H616. Just a fun fact: The same issue was present when they brought up the first images for H6 years ago. The issue was that one core of the board was always at 100% without doing anything. This was noticeable in both heat and a constant loadavg of >=1
<Armbian-Discord> <Werner> No idea if they fixed it in mean time.

<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> docker usually works with apt install docker.io answers to your q https://docs.armbian.com/#what-is-the-difference-between-armbian-and-debianubuntu
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> on legacy kernels (Rock 5 / orange 5) some hacks are needed, but works

<Armbian-Discord> <kwadfan> Hello there 👋, could someone be kind and point me to the right direction? I am trying to modifiy an armbian minimal cli Image using customPIOS. Everytime It gets to the point where it trys to aupgrade all installed packages it fails, everytime it is dpkg failing installing linux-image-current-sunxi64
<Armbian-Discord> <kwadfan> Here are the error messages from Workflow https://github.com/mainsail-crew/MainsailOS/actions/runs/4335831438/jobs/7570697484#step:2:7321
<Armbian-Discord> <kwadfan> Any Idea for a workaround ?
<Armbian-Discord> <kwadfan> Thanks in advance, regards Kwad
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> Never heard of custompi ...ask them
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> This temp problem was discussed long time ago and iirc there is no way as its impossible to diff hw is and adjust
<Armbian-Discord> <kwadfan> Only for the sake of sharing informations: https://github.com/guysoft/CustomPiOS basicly a chroot into existing images to modify that image originally for Raspberry PI OS but work for Armbian also until 23.02 for Orange Pi 3/4 LTS Images.
<Armbian-Discord> <kwadfan> The Trunk of next worked also but stops to work with release
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> I understand you, but try to be sane. We can't provide end users support for forks. Especially not live. If you have problems with official build system open a ticket at github and wait. A day, week or year. This is the best what can be done. Thank you.
<Armbian-Discord> <Jason123> somehow orange pi fixed it
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> Well, with legacy kernels that might be possible
<Armbian-Discord> <kwadfan> I understand and thanks for taking time, have nice day sir 😀
