<c0rnelius> IgorPec: I can't be a 100% sure without using armbian/build and building a custom kernel, but it would appear to be kernel related.

<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> Do you have a working setup somewhere to do lsmod ... To see this diff at least.
<c0rnelius> my lsmod from yesterday: https://paste.debian.net/1230584/
<c0rnelius> Thats Armbian, but booted with a kernel I pre-compiled for a diff img.
<IgorPec> do you have a config - build is automatically making it in output/config
<IgorPec> i am noticing several modules are not loaded
<IgorPec> config is also in the /boot/config*
<c0rnelius> I just use the one(s) located in the github. Only thing I add is CONFIG_MODULE_SIG=y -> https://raw.githubusercontent.com/raspberrypi/linux/rpi-5.15.y/arch/arm64/configs/bcm2711_defconfig
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> ok, will try again later.
<c0rnelius> if you still need my .config I can upload it.

<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> I was wrong the neo3 img i built is not working
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> and I can nit get my uart working like it should on the neo3
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> i get jumble on the screen 1500000
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> so I am working to figure out the issue
BCMM has joined #armbian
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> neo3 probably has wrong dtb
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> but mine is working https://github.com/armbian/scripts/runs/5064317566?check_suite_focus=true

<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> hmm
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> ok then we have to figure otu
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> as jammy img is not working
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> the hirsute img works
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> building impish now
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> to test

<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> c0rnelius: no luck. no audio devices
<c0rnelius> hmm. let me look over ur img again. one sec.
<IgorPec> Armbian_22.02.0-trunk_Rpi4b_focal_current_5.15.21_xfce_desktop.img
<c0rnelius> yeah thats the one I downloaded.
<IgorPec> i am running this on rpi400 if that makes any diff
<c0rnelius> nah only diff is in the wifi firmware img wise.
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> yep
<c0rnelius> i'm re-flashing it now to test something. I have thought.
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> mine is 5.15.23 cinnamon
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> same issue no sound
<c0rnelius> when I tested it with the other kernel yesterday I also added my own config.txt.
<IgorPec> i build image with your config
<IgorPec> the samer
alekksander has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds]
<c0rnelius> IgorPec: Add this to ur /boot/firmware/config.txt and reboot: dtparam=audio=on
<c0rnelius> also that logo.nologo in the config.txt doesn't do anything. That belongs in the cmdline.txt file.
<c0rnelius> I added that before firstboot and the audio now comes up. I also removed that hdmi=2 thing, but I don't think that matters.
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> i got analogue now but not hdmi
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> "TV Audio Mode - Sometimes a computer monitor or TV reports its preferred mode incorrectly, and this can occasionally be a mode which can't pass audio. To correct this, try editing the config.txt file on your micro-SD card and adding the following line: hdmi_drive=2"
<c0rnelius> My config, aplay and lsmod -> https://paste.debian.net/1230675/
<c0rnelius> Using the following img: Armbian_22.02.0-trunk.0035_Rpi4b_focal_current_5.15.21_xfce_desktop.img.xz
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> rpi4b:~:% aplay -l List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices card 0: b1 [bcm2835 HDMI 1], device 0: bcm2835 HDMI 1 [bcm2835 HDMI 1] Subdevices: 7/8 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 Subdevice #1: subdevice #1 Subdevice #2: subdevice #2 Subdevice #3: subdevice #3 Subdevice #4: subdevice #4 Subdevice #5: subdevice #5 Subdevice #6: subdevice #6 Subdevice #7: subdevice #7
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> i have this, but silence ... could be my monitor
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> since its hdmi switch in between
<c0rnelius> Well its a start. aplay wasn't showing anything before.
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> yes
<c0rnelius> OK. I just booted it on my tv and loaded firefox with youtube and yeah audio works. Still defaults to analog though.
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> you have sound on tv?
<c0rnelius> yeap
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> ok, cool. i can't trust my setup due to switch inbetween
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> then this is it probably
<c0rnelius> try adding this to /etc/asound.conf. It should default it. https://paste.debian.net/1230678/
<c0rnelius> IgorPec: That should be it, yes.
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> tnx for help!
<c0rnelius> Not a problem
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> where to put on a built img ?
<Armbian-Discord> <IgorPec> k.s..betford what - this sound fix?

alekksander has joined #armbian
<c0rnelius> k.s.bedford.jr: add `dtparam=audio=on` to ur /boot/firmware/config.txt and reboot. audio should then come up.
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> ok
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> ok loading sd now

<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> so cool the next build I hope has the fixes
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> then its good
<c0rnelius> It's not defaulting to HDMI. Create asound.conf or change it to HDMI using pulse mixer.
<nekomancer[m]> on my odroid-n2 update kernel (with apt, from repos) makes unbootable system.
<nekomancer[m]> on update it shows https://armbian.lane-fu.com/linx/2mvf9hxr.txt
<nekomancer[m]> on /boot I see broken simlink `23 Feb 12 23:23 Image -> vmlinuz-5.15.16-meson64`
<IgorPec> debian?
<nekomancer[m]> I build paskages myself, they installs as same
<nekomancer[m]> no, ubuntu
<IgorPec> aha, i see, try jammy, impish is dead
<IgorPec> but i would suspect the same problem there ... huh
<nekomancer[m]> omg...
<IgorPec> open a bug in jira, in case this can be reproduced in jammy / focal
<IgorPec> this has to be fixed
<nekomancer[m]> ok, will try jammy and focal
<IgorPec> you have jira access, right?
<nekomancer[m]> no
<IgorPec> PM me email to which i should send invite

<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> it was just the sound test under the sound settings did not work but once I fired up web and youtube I had audio
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> so the 2 part fix works on jammy
<Armbian-Discord> <k.s.bedford.jr> and makes a working jammy desktop
