<NicoD> Maybe you had the "non-supported" button on?
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> At status you can choose supported, no official support, ...
<archetech>
theres been no new model sbc's come out in like 2+ yrs why is that
<c0rnelius>
Didn't the C4 come out not to long ago?
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> There have, just not that interesting.
<archetech>
armv9 just got started but no boards
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> There's also the Radxa Zero and Radxa Rock3.
<archetech>

<Macer>
ah you're right. my mistake. unsupported must have been chosen
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> The silicon shortage has put sticks in our wheels. Normally we'd have the RK3388 by a long time. But that's postponed to whenever they feel like it I guess.
<archetech>

<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> The sbcs arent
<Armbian-Discord>
<NeonFetch> But they will soon 😋
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> I'll only believe it when I've got my hands on one.

they'll like get updates but if it's broken it's broken forever
<stipa>
idk, my runs nightly, seems ok by now, if it dies i'm doomed
<stipa>
it's practically mainlined
<stipa>
if someone fucks it up it'll be linus
<stipa>
but, i can't be maintainer, it's not part of my plans for the future
<stipa>
my plans were filled 10 years in front long before i came here

there'll be less boards but the quality of armbian should be better
<stipa>
in my opinion it's better to have one working than 34678287 half working ones
<stipa>
boards
<stipa>
but, this is like it is because no one maintains the boards

I think it kind of comes down to level of maintenance and people expect to much. Look first things first, lets getting everything working. Desktop second.
<c0rnelius>
As someone who mostly uses my boards headless, I'm pretty happy when all the onboard shit works. Shit I had a NEO Plus2 for like a year now and only just figured out how to get the bluetooth working. :)
<c0rnelius>
Problem is also a lot of the stuff concerning arm will never get mainlined as it involves changing code that would if changed break things somewhere else. So it comes down to being very specific in some cases.
