<lanefu> i need another relay bank
<nekomancer[m]> Take two!
<nekomancer[m]> And another one as spare
<lanefu> ha
<lanefu> sad sad.. these are the only boards with that have maintainers signed up https://armbian.lane-fu.com/linx/s/xse32ci2.png
<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> I want vim3, but I don't know what/if I can do anything.
<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> And no Odroid C2? That's still a champ.
<lanefu> hmm wtf i can't find the post that explains what it means to support
<lanefu> okay i pinned that post
<lanefu> that should help
<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> First movie, then I'll read it.
<lanefu> good priorities

<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> I'd like to take some boards on me. I can test, but I don't know much about fixing or patching things.
<c0rnelius> I don't think the Le Potato requires all that much patching on a basic level. It does have some odd eth probs, but I believe using ethtool and auto-negotiation corrects that? Mainline linux of course.
<lanefu> good question
<lanefu> i just put a fresh image on mine
<lanefu> i should keep an eye on it
archetech has joined #armbian
<c0rnelius> I used one of mine as a kodi box for a long time and then decided to mess around with it and if I recall correctly, that being the only thing that really stood out. The eth port would act tarded. -> https://raw.githubusercontent.com/pyavitz/debian-image-builder/feature/files/scripts/lepotato-tweaks
<c0rnelius> That seemed to resolve it, but in fairness I wasn't using the the exact Armbian patch set. I think there is something about this in the Armbian forum though?

<c0rnelius> I just got a notice from an old company I worked for, in the notice it says they were compromised. Although they did never figure out who hacked them, they did find that the information gathered was on me. They are now offering a year of cyber security? One whole year to see if some decides to pretend be me and I don't know? Blow up something! Think I should contact a lawyer about this one?
<c0rnelius> It just never ends.
<lanefu> Sucks how it's just a normal thing now
<c0rnelius> Like screw that year of cyber security and just pay me what it would cost to do that. Which in the letter is apparently 1 million dollars to protect me for a year?
<c0rnelius> Yeah. I don't care about email addresses and stuff, but my Social Security number? That's not good.
<c0rnelius> Plus there is like only one person on the planet with my full name. So even worse... One other person who shares my First and Last. :\
<c0rnelius> I should have waited till the morning to open that letter.
<c0rnelius> and it looks ESOP related, so someone hacked the accountants computer. I can't recall his name now? It was something common.

<alekksander> well i have armbian on my server machine where i setup p2p file sharing application. sometimes people send me links there and i'd like them to automatically open on my local machine
<alekksander> well upon click ofc
<alekksander> so i thought i setting up a .desktop file with ssh redirection to my local machine, but as far as i can see in this app i can specify what to do with links (like xdg-open $, firefox $ – few exmples that are already there). perhaps there is a simple command, not necessarily ssh, that could send this clicked link to my machine?
<alekksander> i think .desktop file could work better, as it would handle links outside from this one specific app as well
<alekksander> this .desktop file would be my „default browser”

<c0rnelius> or ssh user@ipaddress 'DISPLAY=:0 chromium https://whatever.com' should work.
<nekomancer[m]> what version of ubuntu should have builder to make images based on impish and jammi?... (full message at https://libera.ems.host/_matrix/media/r0/download/libera.chat/9fd0bcb2132187562f355cb490be1e50539dbb37)
<IgorPec> hirsute
<IgorPec> from repository - none. nothing in repo yet
<IgorPec> and jammy not merged yet https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/3234
<c0rnelius> anyone else notice Jammy is way bigger than Hirsute?
<IgorPec> is it? i did one CLI image. cant say
<c0rnelius> Yeah I built a test img my self the other day and it was like 400MB bigger?
<c0rnelius> I thought to my self is GCC-11 that much larger?
<IgorPec> 1st step is to diff package lists
<c0rnelius> Maybe its dragging in more depends?
<IgorPec> no idea, but this is the way to check
<IgorPec> all rootfs caches has a list of packages stored in .list
<c0rnelius> I see
* nekomancer[m] trying to run AR-953 branch
<ArmbianHelper> AR-953 [Task] "Add support for next Ubuntu LTS" reported by Igor Pecovnik at 2021-11-01. Status: To Do
<IgorPec> that branch should work. i have build an image, but from soures
<IgorPec> since repository is not existing ATM
<nekomancer[m]> maybe, my prolem in my system. then I ask about your.
<nekomancer[m]> possible problem in docker, but seems impossible to build upper version on lower without docker
<IgorPec> i didn't try on docker. yes, could be some issue. well, those edge stuff is always like this

<IgorPec> no caching
* nekomancer[m] remember an article about a mess need to serve to build a centos build env for +1 release
<IgorPec> we are not talking about +1 release
<IgorPec> this is future predicted release
* nekomancer[m] build on Odroid-N2
<IgorPec> nekomancer[m] did you try from a clean docker image?
<nekomancer[m]> sure
<IgorPec> well, aarch64 build support is not officially supported
<nekomancer[m]> even try to use all actual ubuntu release in docker builder
<IgorPec> docker images were bumped to hirsute some time ago
<IgorPec> i'll try to recreate on n2
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> I've recently introduced Impish and Bullseye builders, a lot of problems, slowly fixing here and there, but most of my builders and Hirsute and that is working very well
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> Impish with the DEB_COMPRESS fixes is working well, except when targeting bullseye
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> Bullseye builder (with unpublished debootstrap fix) builds well except when targeting Impish, lol
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> this is on full kernel + rootfs (never cached) on aarch64 ampere a1 and using the system toolchains
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> but I've a year of aarch64 hacks here and there on my fork, so... might not be everyone's experience
<IgorPec> it seems we will need to bump docker to impish in order to support jammy
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> docker.... ?
<IgorPec> docker image to build stuff
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> ahn, I saw this in passing once, never used it.
<IgorPec> yeah, but people do use it
<IgorPec> especially if you want to build some newer OS on ancient host
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> yeah I imagine
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> how does it get around /dev/loop and root perm and such?
<IgorPec> privileged
<IgorPec> you need to enable it, otherwise you can't build images
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> ha, ok.
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> yeah, I'll try Jammy after you merge it, but won't help with Docker, my stuff is all moved to containerd now
<IgorPec> no problem. its already sorted. i am testing it now
<IgorPec> braging to quickly. failing ;)
<IgorPec> W: Failure trying to run: /sbin/ldconfig
<IgorPec> W: See //debootstrap/debootstrap.log for details
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> yeah that is cgroup mismatch vs libc version, usually vs qemu, dunno docker
<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> Is this the problem I'm having too? Building images doesn't work, always those errors.
<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> images with desktop that is.
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> that is why Torvalds is always complaining about glibc as well
<IgorPec> yeah. its a mess
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> I also build x86/amd64 on aarch64, and that is a whole different slew of problems, but Lane fixed it for me with an amd64 builder 😉
<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> This?
<IgorPec> NicoD: that is apt-cacher failure
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> Nope, that is apt-cacher-ng shittyness
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> gtma
<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> ok
<Armbian-Discord> <NicoD> I saw debootstrap and thought it's the same issue, didn't have the will to read it all. 😦
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> I think I got to a more stable apt-cacher-ng setup after enduring it failing in dozens of different ways
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> when Impish was released the Ubuntu mirrors went bananas too
<Armbian-Discord> <rpardini> ports.ubuntu.com is slow as hell for me, only EU mirror is always half-synced

<IgorPec> what will this change?
<nekomancer[m]> for me chroot in docker not falling trying to build hirsute.
<IgorPec> for me it fails on one host, while it doesn't on another ...
<IgorPec> its also a docker version in question
<IgorPec> and who knows what else :)
<nekomancer[m]> and trying to build for impish after this fix failing later 1 step: now it failing on `Installing from repository [ linux-image-current-meson64 ]` (there no such kernel in repo, I think)
<IgorPec> i think i told you that already. you can't use repository
<IgorPec> since it doesn't exits yet
<nekomancer[m]> so, _please,_ try :)
<nekomancer[m]> just curious.
<nekomancer[m]> IgorPec: yes, yes... I remember... it just takes too mucj time on N2 to "just test". But sure I will.

<IgorPec> W: Failure trying to run: mount -t proc proc /proc
<nekomancer[m]> if it on x64 hot then some time ago I see the same and fix by reapply qemu-user-static
<nekomancer[m]> on build host
<lanefu> @Nicod HerculeP also had a C2 you can work with them for testing as well
<nekomancer[m]> IgorPec: I (hope) understand `man mount` and think `mount --rbind` more correct than `mount --bind`. Because --bind will not mount /dev subdirectories, as `/dev/shm`.

<nekomancer[m]> IgorPec: try to uncomment line `DOCKER_FLAGS+=(--privileged)` in config.docker...
<nekomancer[m]> I have same error `mount -t proc proc /proc` when run on x64 script, but if I try to reproduce by running manual `docker run` and do `mount -t proc chproc proc` inside — then it not work without --privileged, and run with it.
