[jjabrams](<https://matrix.to/#/@jjabrams:libera.chat>) yes! Generally the rule here is you don’t need to ask to ask

sorry i'm just confused by IRCs... never used them.. anyhow: I have a PYNQ-ZU board which I would like to use to instantiate a LiteSATA core together with my project
<jjabrams>
as far as I know though the ZU is currently not supported. I've seen some Python files in the repo which describe various boards pinout but I'm not sure that's enough to integrate my board. or is it?

[whitequark](<https://matrix.to/#/@libera_whitequark:catircservices.org>) ah yes indeed, thank goodness and silly of me to think you would have forgotten to do that. Might want to point irclogs.whitequark.org to redirect to libera. instead of freenode.?

[Catherine](<https://matrix.to/#/@whitequark:matrix.org>) my sincere thanks for your work in setting up catircservices.org and bridging important channels. The whole thing (double puppeting?) is over my head and I’m really grateful I don’t have to figure out how to set up my own bridge!

<whitequark[cis]>
wtf is going on with tpb
<whitequark[cis]>
jevinskie: test
<whitequark[cis]>
jevinskie: which client are you using?
<jevinskie[m]1>
Element nightly on iOS. Is tpb a bot of yours?
<whitequark[cis]>
no
<jevinskie[m]1>
@libera_tpb:catircservices.org what’s that imply if I’m @jevinskie:matrix.org?
<jevinskie[m]1>
I DMed [tpb](<https://matrix.to/#/@libera_tpb:catircservices.org>) about what’s going on but I suspect I’m just talking to a bot/service. 🤔
<tpb>
Title: You're invited to talk on Matrix (at matrix.to)
<sensille>
this is all pretty hard to read, so much clutter
<whitequark[cis]>
tpb is a bot
<whitequark[cis]>
sensille: the clutter isn't supposed to be there
<whitequark[cis]>
jevinskie: are you using "Element X"?
<whitequark[cis]>
jevinskie: pointing irclog.whitequark.org/* to libera instead of freenode will break existing links on the Internet
<jevinskie[m]1>
Gotcha, cool URLs don’t change and all that :)
<jevinskie[m]1>
I’m using “Element” from element.io for iOS with a TestFlight build: 1.10.14 (20230621144257)
<whitequark[cis]>
that's probably "Element X" and like usual the Element people have screwed up something in their regular rewrite of Element
<jevinskie[m]1>
To be more precise the app name is “Element Messenger”. Any suggestions? Is there a pre-X version still available or should I find another client?
<whitequark[cis]>
I don't know, I've never used iOS
<whitequark[cis]>
mithro is the person running the tpb bot
<whitequark[cis]>
but it's not really an issue with the bot
<whitequark[cis]>
it's an issue with jevinskie's client that is sending garbage in the m.content.body of the Matrix message
<jevinskie[m]1>
Hmm looks like I’m using the original Element (TestFlight beta though), I have not “purchased” Element X from Vector from the App Store yet. Don’t mind if I try installing that and seeing if the issue remains?
<whitequark[cis]>
oh, sure
<jevinskie[m]1>
Also, wq, is it Not Good to use the Matrix “reply to message” feature in this bridge? I suspect that might make a mess on the IRC side?
<whitequark[cis]>
works fine, try replying to this message for example

it's specifically the "pill" (the rounded rectangle with the user's name in it) that's causing issues
<jevinskie[m]1>
Cool! “<jevinskie[m]1> whitequark[cis]: Test reply”. Another thing to add to the todo list is to figure out why I’m suffixed with 1 even though I logged out of the original libera.chat bridge
<whitequark[cis]>
you need to send "!nick jevinskie[m]" (or anything else) to @appservice-irc:catircservices.org

@whitequark:matrix.org test from element x. I can’t even tap a username to mention them in X. Wow it’s so much worse than the original Element

It appear that VexRiscV is used underneath by Lattice Propel. Not sure if it is full LiteX though.
<josuah>
A grep -R does not seems to confirm it...
<_florent_>
josuah: It's only VexRiscv I think, but they are not really transparent on this in their documents, you only see some reference to it in the source filenames.

My apologies for the off topic matrix irc bridge discussion. But I did find the root cause and pointed it out in the Element issue on GitHub so hopefully they can take it from there
