<zorz>
SiFuh: unbelievable, kernel, base, xenocara compiled out of the box.
<zorz>
but i do not have syspatch now.
<SiFuh>
zorz: Of course. What is the point of syspatch when you are using -current?
<zorz>
SiFuh: -stable
<SiFuh>
zorz: you mean -release?
<zorz>
SiFuh: the other day i wanted to short SOL so I am ready I connect to apex, and go. At a point i was wanting to check the funding rate also at dydx exchange. Hit in duckduckgo dydx and the first result was a phishing site. What i mean is People trust google and google takes advantage of this to manipulate.
<zorz>
SiFuh: no iam 7.5-stable
<zorz>
but the patches are compiled with the source code.
<zorz>
[ box ~ ]> doas syspatch
<zorz>
doas (zorz@box.my.domain) password:
<zorz>
syspatch: Unsupported release: 7.5-stable
<zorz>
[ box ~ ]>
<SiFuh>
zorz: Of course. What is the point of syspatch when you are using -stable?

this things are good
<zorz>
not in greece.
<zorz>
SiFuh: seriously, if i will ever need something faster than openbsd,, i will go with minimal freebsd and compile the ports that i need they way that i like.
<SiFuh>
Download the archive you want. Edit the distinfo file with the new checksums and name
<SiFuh>
Edit the Makefile.
<zorz>
ok
<zorz>
checksums
<SiFuh>
Then run make in the directory of that particular port
<SiFuh>
How did you get 'pump' from that?
<zorz>
make install make clean make clean=dist
<zorz>
ok
<SiFuh>
What the fuck
<SiFuh>
make install, make clean?
<SiFuh>
just run make
<SiFuh>
and then make install
<SiFuh>
then pkg_delete -a
<zorz>
[ box /usr/ports/editors/vile ]> make install
<zorz>
===> Installing vile-9.8y from /usr/packages/amd64/all/
<zorz>
[ box /usr/ports/editors/vile ]> pkg_delete vile
<zorz>
vile-9.8y: ok
<zorz>
vile-9.8y: ok
<zorz>
Read shared items: ok
<zorz>
[ box /usr/ports/editors/vile ]> make clean
<zorz>
===> Cleaning for vile-9.8y
<zorz>
[ box /usr/ports/editors/vile ]> make clean=dist
<zorz>
===> Cleaning for vile-9.8y
<zorz>
===> Dist cleaning for vile-9.8y
<zorz>
no need for pkg_delete -a, no make depend
<SiFuh>
Why would you build vile-9.8y when you wanted vile-9.8z ?
<SiFuh>
zorz: RUN IT ANWAY ;-)
<zorz>
because ports, is old... and
<zorz>
y version the curses is buggy, thats why i need z
<SiFuh>
You subversion the ports? downloaded the archive? Or git cloned it?
<zorz>
i did it nicely [ box /usr/ports ]> cvs -qd anoncvs@mirror.osn.de:/cvs checkout -rOPENBSD_7_5 -P ports
<SiFuh>
Since you need z and as a retard you installed y without explaining why. Then clean your entire ports source. Then modify the port then rebuild it
<zorz>
and its fast
<SiFuh>
AFTER YOU INSTALL IT.. run pkg_delete -a
<zorz>
i need to change the checksums
<SiFuh>
Yes and the make file
<zorz>
change y with z
<SiFuh>
Easy shit
<zorz>
cool!
<SiFuh>
So where does the word 'pump' fit in then?
<zorz>
now i run it, but i download localy the source and did ./configure --prefix=$HOME/.local --with-build-cppflags="-I${LOCALBASE}/include" --with-build-ldflags="-L${LOCALBASE}/lib" --with-perl --with-builtin-filters --with-screen=ncursesw
<SiFuh>
Whatever
<zorz>
ok lets go to the tent thing
<SiFuh>
I wasn't talking about a tent
<zorz>
in the night, when in the tent, because you are hot lets say and outside is cold and humid... you get lots of humidity... you need to cover the tent with an extra nylon
<zorz>
about what ?
<zorz>
if you are tired you sleep ? otherwise get drunk! :Ppp
<SiFuh>
[00 06 14] [SiFuh> zorz: Wasn't talking about tents. I was talking about bedding
<zorz>
if the size of your tent allows you can have a bed... officers do.
<zorz>
corporals like myself... on the ground.
<SiFuh>
What, just naked?
<zorz>
1 lt vodka... you are like fire, man on fire :P
<farkuhar>
SiFuh: I don't get the connection between https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcgVUmt-Ews and the offensiveness of "minimal freebsd and compile the ports that [zorz needs]". Care to explain?
<SiFuh>
OpenBSD is the turtle and the Rabbit is FreeBSD. Guess which one wins in the end?
<SiFuh>
Offensive = Why choose an a stuck up, egotistical rabbit, full of himself and so sure he can win because he is so fast he decides to take a nap on the way. And OpenBSD chugs on by ;-)
<farkuhar>
I expect YouTube has clips that convey the old Aesop's fable lesson without needing to pay attention to the "screen within a screen". I was focusing on the ninja turtles in the foreground and the guest who showed up in the final seconds, not the video game they were playing.
<SiFuh>
farkuhar: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are freaking awesome!
<SiFuh>
They were not playing a video game
<farkuhar>
My point exactly. I wasn't tuned in to what they were watching on their screen, so I missed the connection you were trying to make.
<zorz>
SiFuh: ce la vie... do not book with boeing :)
<zorz>
farkuhar: 'lo
<farkuhar>
zorz: the Boeing brand is the new "Made in China", you say?
<zorz>
no no no
<zorz>
somebody else mention that,,, i said is an insult for Made in China to be compared with boeing :Pp
<SiFuh>
I said it
<zorz>
yes SiFuh said boeing is the new made in china!
<zorz>
and i continued is an insult for made in china to be compared with boeing HAHA
<farkuhar>
man 8 syslogd says that it is "derived from BSD sources, today FreeBSD is the reference for syslogd and NetBSD for the new syslogp(3) API". I wonder whether the spelling mistake in the explanation of the -K switch ("Useful ... where kernel logs har handled by the host system") was also derived from BSD.
<farkuhar>
Or maybe somebody was trying to transcribe a pirate dialect.
<farkuhar>
Hmm, syslogd on NetBSD 4.0.1 doesn't have the -K switch, and on OpenBSD the -K switch does something completely different. I'm guessing the spelling mistake originated with the authors of the Linux syslogd.
