<p00f> leon-p: this is the correct way of packaging riverguile right? https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=riverguile-git#n28

<leon-p> sure
<leon-p> if it builds a viable package it's fine
<alebastr> leon-p: in the git Makefile, shouldn't MODULES be $(shell pkg-config --variable sitedir guile-3.0)?
<alebastr> s/MODULES/MODULEDIR/
<ifreund> $(shell ...) is a GNUism iirc, $$(pkg-config ...) is portable I think
<leon-p> alebastr: I didn't know sitedir was an available variable, interesting
<leon-p> but I think it's a bit debateable whether guile modules by third-party packages belong there over guile/3.0
<leon-p> especially considering that on my system guile/sitedir wasn't even in the load path initially
<leon-p> so I think I'll just leave it for now
<alebastr> leon-p: it's a recommended location for any code that's not a part of Guile itself: https://www.gnu.org/software/guile/manual/html_node/Installing-Site-Packages.html
<ifreund> can't one pretty much put any variables one wants in a .pc file?
<leon-p> I think so, I just usually don't check :)
<leon-p> alebastr: indeed, but my points still stand. If you feel strongly about it, send a patch and I'll think about it

<alebastr> not yet. but I've just got river and zig up to date for Fedora 40 and started looking into packaging useful utilities. If I ever get to riverguile, I'll have to send that patch :)
<alebastr> IIRC, that wasn't the only problem: we have 3 versions of guile packaged at the moment, so each guile-config has version suffix
