What sort of build system does everyone use for their OSes?
<kof673>
i'm not done with obscure jokes yet, hold on > The tree of the year and the boundary had typically blossomed anew at the time of the summer solstice. > The FIR-tree is pyramidal, named from the same root, and chosen for its shape as a Christmas tree, or a FIRE-tree > The Baal-fire then, it is repeated, belongs to Midsummer and the rising of Sothis, visible as the Dog in the tree # un chien and a lucina [may 1st]...hermes sli

i have decided with very simple commands, and goto/labels...don't even have to parse anything really ...so it will have labels lol this will be horrible, but ease of implementation and parsing should be easy

in the meantime, very simple shell, no functions even (but i use eval) ...and try to keep external commands minimal. goal is just have minimal dependencies

<kof673>
a "target" just sets a bunch of variables basically, so little target-specific fragments just set variables mostly
<kof673>
it does not do anything a true make does, but ....i am ok with that for now
<kof673>
i wanted an expect-like thing, that just reads a line from a stream, sends a line to another stream....but that is not a large step to add a few more things and get a sort of "shell"...add variables, ability to invoke external commands, etc.

Hmmm. the wiki's PCI page seems to have confusing info about PCI BARs. The text suggests the BAR points to physical RAM (and indeed says so). when it's actually a decode address (aka which addresses the device should respond to)
