<Wizzup> freemangordon: uvos__: personally I think going the inhibited route first makes more sense
<Wizzup> but that is mostly because I fear the xorg path will take a lot of time

<dsc_> BlagovestPetrov[: did the cable work?
<BlagovestPetrov[> nope :/ I've tried to solder it but the connector is too small
<dsc_> ok :)
<BlagovestPetrov[> it's not impossible but it's really difficult
<BlagovestPetrov[> if if works once, maybe we can order more cables from Alibaba

<buZz> ativate the APT::Force-LoopBreak option.
<Wizzup> yeah, add -o APT..=true
<dsc_> after doing that and rebooting: https://cdn.kroket.io/~sander/pic/235236.png
<dsc_> ill reset VM ;)
<dsc_> try installing libmafw-shared0-dev libmafw-shared0-dev-dbgsym
<dsc_> ill grab it from source instead

<dsc_> fyi `APT::Force-LoopBreak` broke my VM, need to start over, whats the latest image out of these https://maedevu.maemo.org/images/virtual-machines/?C=N&O=D
<buZz> looks like you didnt dist-upgrade before rebooting?
<buZz> or not sure, i guess
<dsc_> new VM
<dsc_> ? :P
<dsc_> ^ maemo-leste-1.0-amd64-20230212.qcow2.xz
<Wizzup> hm
<Wizzup> I am not sure if that is chimaera
<Wizzup> let me check
<dsc_> this `elogind` keeps coming back :D
<Wizzup> use dist-upgrade, not upgade
<Wizzup> and yes, this loop break should be necessary once, we're still making some (breaking) changes to chimaera
<dsc_> ok let me start over once again with a fresh VM
<Wizzup> I'm building a chimaera image now
<Wizzup> it wasn't building for a while it seems
<Wizzup> I forgot to schedule periodical builds
<Wizzup> (for the vm image)
<dsc_> ah
<dsc_> do you recommend waiting for that one?
<dsc_> I think dist-upgrade is broken tbh
<dsc_> at least for this image I just tried
<dsc_> which is
<dsc_> maemo-leste-1.0-amd64-20230212.qcow2.xz
<dsc_> let me try again
<Wizzup> this is building now
<dsc_> cool
<dsc_> thanks

<freemangordon> xorg/xorg-libinput is too hacky to be fixed properly
<freemangordon> maybe I'll waste some more time on it, but I doubt I'll be able to find a proper way to fix it
<Wizzup> let's go for inhibited
<Wizzup> we explicitly don't do hybris stuff
<freemangordon> it is not about hybris
<freemangordon> I just don;t feel it right
<freemangordon> like, xorg should be able to manage its own variables, no?
<Wizzup> freemangordon: we can just build xorg without elogind
<Wizzup> it will still work all the same
<Wizzup> the only difference is that it's not running as user
<Wizzup> and it won't suffer from this bug
<Wizzup> I still think doing inhibited is useful regardless for other pm reasons (like poor userspace keeping all fds open)
<freemangordon> I am not sure building xorg without logind works the same
<freemangordon> like, does polkit agent still work?
<freemangordon> anyway, I want to waste few more days on that before giving up
<Wizzup> :( ok
<Wizzup> freemangordon: why wouldn't the polkit agent work btw?
