<Wizzup> it would be neat to have a mode where the phone doesn't charge from usb until it's ready with calibration (lowbat)

<rafael2k> libcamera now has explicit PinePhone Pro support. Interesting from people running Android on PPP: "There seems to be 200-300ms of input lag on the PinePhone Pro. It's usable but enough to notice. Keep in mind that the PinePhone Pro, for example, uses an RK3399 SoC, which is from the Android 7 era (~2016)."
<rafael2k> Maemo is so much lighter than anything else in the "market"

<_uvos_> that sound more like a bug
<_uvos_> android without google apps is pretty light, even android 12 works without lag on xt1602 wich is comperable to pp in perf
<_uvos_> and android is way more responsive than phosh or plamo on the same device
<_uvos_> no way ppp should be that laggy without something going wrong
<_uvos_> Wizzup: even if you find one of those idk how usefull its going to be
<_uvos_> since i doubt they where made recently i dont think it will have more capacity than just shoveing a new 2200mAh nexus 4 battery beneath the stock cover
<_uvos_> the enlarged battery door might be interesting if you want to use the gpio pogo pins on the back of the device
<_uvos_> to connect a spi lte modem or soemthing maybe

<rafael2k> I think it was not meant to be... sphone just updated and broke ringing
<rafael2k> :(
<_uvos_> upps
<_uvos_> really? can you post a log
<rafael2k> I see it picks a different audio device now, "Speaker"
<_uvos_> whats not ringing? sms or call
<rafael2k> call
<rafael2k> did not try sms yet
<_uvos_> i dident change anything about the ringer really
<_uvos_> so thats wierd
<rafael2k> it is about the audio
<_uvos_> right, i gues vibration works
<_uvos_> still i changed only other things
<_uvos_> could you post a log?
<rafael2k> audio in a call works! (keeps working)
<rafael2k> sure
<_uvos_> thats not related at all
<_uvos_> since that audio dosent come from sphone ;)
<rafael2k> SMS alert works
<_uvos_> hmm
<_uvos_> but that uses the same method to play audio
<_uvos_> only the file name is different
<_uvos_> anyhow the log will probubly show whats wrong
<rafael2k> I write later, going to have lunch

<rafael2k> I think the mic gets routed to the modem lane
<rafael2k> but I need to check
<rafael2k> anyway, this is the least of the problems, as phone calls are working indeed
<rafael2k> Speaker button does not work yet in sphone in PP
<rafael2k> sphone: playback-gstreamer: /usr/share/sounds/NokiaTune.aac is not a valid file
<rafael2k> I don't get from where sphone is getting this information
<rafael2k> oops
<rafael2k> sorry, that was my fault in the package I did
<rafael2k> I will fix and re-upload
<rafael2k> : ))
<rafael2k> it is all working
<rafael2k> Wizzup, if you had not uploaded the new ringtones, wait a bit, I'll fix a wrong path in /etc/ringtones
<rafael2k> if you have not picked, I'll not bump version, just fix the bogus path and substitute that .deb I sent the link yesterday

<sicelo> btw thanks, gprs is indeed stable on the droid 4 now
<Wizzup> rafael2k: the problem with it is that it is a .deb and not a pkg on git, so we'd have to import it
<Wizzup> rafael2k: and I am not sure if we all decided that we wanted to pull this in, cc freemangordon ? (maemo-ringtones pkg)

<_uvos_> freemangordon: wrt paralell lipos, in general no issue, just make sure to they are close in terms of state of charge when you first connect them. having 2 parralell bms causes some non ideal behavior but mostly ones not relevant to the application in a mobile device.
<_uvos_> the main one being that you cant load the cells to thair full c rating as differences in ir and the bms fets will cause one bms to cut out early on current spikes, which can create interesting ripple because the current constantly shift between the cells as one cell cuts in and out
<_uvos_> but thats only applicable when discharging cells fast with current limiting bms
<_uvos_> so not really here
<_uvos_> sicleo: the mic goes away because it get connected to the modem same as on pp
<_uvos_> technicly cpcap can echo the modem audio (and thus the mic + remote party) back to the cpu
<_uvos_> but we dont do that in the driver
<_uvos_> why?
<freemangordon> _uvos_: I was thinking to connect them with some resistor initially, to equalize the voltages
<_uvos_> no need
<_uvos_> its not that critical
<freemangordon> well, but does not hurt, no?
<_uvos_> no
<freemangordon> I will feel better if I do not connect batteries with difference in voltages in parallel
<_uvos_> but you can connect a 3.5v to a 3.65v cell with no problem
<_uvos_> i do that all the time
<freemangordon> ok
<freemangordon> thanks
<_uvos_> when parralell charging model aircraft bats
<_uvos_> just dont have on full and one empty or something silly like that
<freemangordon> mhm

<Wizzup> _uvos_: nice, 2053mAh (bionic)
<_uvos_> ha got you beat :P
<_uvos_> mine dose 2100 something often
<_uvos_> (also bionic)
<_uvos_> my nexus 4 bat callibrates at 1980 btw (so a bit lower than advertised)
<Wizzup> still happy with it
<Wizzup> I did have to remove the charge_full file btw
<_uvos_> hmm you should not have too
<_uvos_> thats a bold hw8x?
<_uvos_> @battery
<_uvos_> *old
<Wizzup> yes
<Wizzup> it was stuck at 1218mAh before or so
<Wizzup> I will get one or two of the droid 3 batteries I think
<_uvos_> okay great
<_uvos_> yeah my d3 bat is really tired too
<_uvos_> did you manage to get some xt894 battery doors btw?

<sicelo> i received sms'es two times today with droid4/sphone. each time the tone sounded and the phone vibrated. no other visual notification however, so i had to manually open sms application and look for it
<sicelo> as for windows usbnet ... a pmos device does work. maybe we should consider reviewing our setup?
<sicelo> we use CDC ECM, while pmOS uses RNDIS
<uvos> sicelo: do you have a custom sphone config?
<uvos> ah
<uvos> i just reaized why
<uvos> i forgot to add libnotify to the debian depends
<uvos> so it probubly built without notification support on ci
<Wizzup> uvos: heh
<Wizzup> don't forget the -dev depends as well
<uvos> sicelo: i wont be able to fix it rn
<uvos> or tomorrow likely
<uvos> you can reload the old sms notification interface by changeing sphone.ini
<uvos> its called ui-incomeing-messages-gtk or simmular
<sicelo> it's alright. i can wait for update as i hardly use it.
<Wizzup> uvos: do you want me to try to the fix control file if that's the problem?
<sicelo> mmm, my droid4 just died while idling on charger
