<Tonymac32> any performant armv7 board will heat up a good bit
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> The Tinker Board and XU4 are the going to be the most powerful available
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> otherwise you're looking at a mid-high range armv8 cross compiling, and until you hit RK3399 or better you won't outperform the RK3288/exynos options
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> @Dal The Asus Tinker Board has mainline support and works well. I would recommend improving the heat sink situation over the ASUS in-box one, it's insufficient.
<DC-IRC>
<Dal> Excellent thanks for some pointers, there’s so many boards and chipsets that Googling was getting tiresome.

<Jason123> The xu4 has 8 cores?
<DC-IRC>
<Tenkawa> Yes but its 32 bit only
buzzm has joined #armbian
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> it has 4 big and 4 small 32-bit cores
<DC-IRC>
<c0rnelius> ``` So if I was compiling I would for sure go with the xu4.
<DC-IRC>
<Jason123> should have bought the xu4
<DC-IRC>
<Jason123> 8 core cpu

<nekomancer[m]>
my helios64 seems unstable with 6.2-6.3 kernels last some month. unstable means "some processes randomly crashes at random times, not reproduceable". processes like compiltation or apt install.
<nekomancer[m]>
but same kernel on rockpi-4a works solid.
<nekomancer[m]>
how can it be at all?
<nekomancer[m]>
rockpi-4a and helios64 both based on RK3399
<nekomancer[m]>
one armbian kernel

<Tonymac32> I have a pile of MC1 Solo's (5), and yeah hey're good, but they are not 1/2 as stable as the Tinker because of Samsung and mainline = 😦
<DC-IRC>
<Tonymac32> big.LITTLE and ram devfreq = 😮

<c0rnelius> @MacKahan both boards require patching on mainline.
