<Robin> Does anyone know, why, when I build armbian for rockchip, the bootsplash (which has replaced images) builds, but then still uses the "default" armbian files?

hey
<e3ef13f4ff44>
i'm getting error --menu Select the target image type -8 no Standard image with console interface yes Minimal image with console interface as im not building interactively
<e3ef13f4ff44>
i've set BUILD_DESKTOP to no in commandline, but it doesnt work
<DC-IRC>
<Robin> okay, so the weird thing here is that I see the boot splash, that is armbians thing. But when I manually run `sudo plymouthd ; sudo plymouth --show-splash ; sleep 10 ; sudo killall plymouthd` for example, it is my own thing...

<Infinity_Q> O know, right? I have the same problem. Just I couldn't get help.
<DC-IRC>
<Infinity_Q> All I can say is that I faced the wrath for seeking help for "changing the brand"
<DC-IRC>
<Robin> I bet there is something that is built-in as a package on the boot. But I can't figure out where
<DC-IRC>
<Infinity_Q> I've had to resort to customizing the armbian theme itself
<DC-IRC>
<Robin> How do you mean?
<DC-IRC>
<Robin> (I boot into cli btw)

<Infinity_Q> Modifying files in /usr/share/plymouth/themes/armbian
<DC-IRC>
<Aluveitie> I've successfully upgraded my OPI R1+ manually from Armbian Bullseye to Bookworm (I know it's not officially supported). So far everything is running fine, but it still showing the old Armbian release on login/armbian-config: `Welcome to Armbian 23.02.2 Bookworm`
<DC-IRC>
<Aluveitie> How to upgrade to 23.05?
<DC-IRC>
<Robin> I did so, then it changes, HOWEVER, the main boot splash still is the default armbian
<DC-IRC>
<Robin> I modified the files + build and it still gives the armbian boot
<DC-IRC>
<Infinity_Q> Did you try to use the plymouth-set-default-theme binary from debian?
<DC-IRC>
<Werner> Try regular apt update/upgrade after unfreezing firmware

<Aluveitie> @werner thx, will try that

<Robin> I don't get it now.. I just replaced the images that branded armbian to my own (which worked a while ago for another board) but now, that does not.
<DC-IRC>
<Infinity_Q> There is a lot of files specifying the armbian theme in the build framework. I'm messing with it now
<e3ef13f4ff44>
where i can find the pipelines config files for armbian build?
<DC-IRC>
<Robin> I'm bamboozled now. What?! 🤣
<DC-IRC>
<Werner> pipelines?
<DC-IRC>
<Infinity_Q> 😂 it's the program they use to generate armbian system images
<e3ef13f4ff44>
Werner: i want to build armbian for rk3318 from gitlab ci runnner using local cloned git repo, it's complaining about running noninteractively.
<DC-IRC>
<IgorPec> @werner repository updates are not pushed out yet. I would rather wait with this to fix few things first.

<amazingfate> Because you don't have full args to do a build. You can run locally and copy the full args after the build.

<Jason123> The untested build is common on debian 11
<DC-IRC>
<LightIsBright> Yeah, still annoying that I cant switch back to the normal builds
<DC-IRC>
<LightIsBright> yes ive tried using armbian-config
