TRS-80: are you an armbian dev? know anything about the armbian_first_config.txt?
<mlu>
looks like it's trying to use ifconfig -a, but ifconfig is no longer in Bookworm
<mlu>
should I ignore it or attempt to fix?
<TRS-80>
I am not a dev, more like a forum moderator and some times help with docs and other various tasks. I barely know what I am doing, especially compared to some others in here. Just trying to keep a few SBC running and became involved as a concerned user.
<TRS-80>
But yeah that's probably something we should try and fix if true. I am not sure what might be the best way though.
<TRS-80>
And likely some of devs will also have some opinions about the way forward.
<mlu>
quick and dirty workaround: just install net-tool; more extensive fix: use `ip link` to display all the devices, update the regex accordingly
<mlu>
probably will take me a couple hours to contribute a patch proposal
<TRS-80>
Maybe lodge an issue and begin a discussion first, before you get too far. That's assuming someone doesn't see something in here and reply sooner. But not likely until tomorrow maybe.

<TGVoid> Hey y'all, I'm having a few issues getting XRDP to work on Armbian. I installed the CLI version, used tasksel to install Debian and GNOME desktops, then installed XRDP and XORGXRDP. When trying to remote into my SBC, I can successfully log in, but I get a blue screen with a message saying something along the lines of "connection failed"
<stipa>
try nomachine
<DC-IRC>
<NicoD> @TGVoid Gnome uses Wayland by default. What you mention is for x11. Either use Gnome on Xorg or use a native x11 desktop. Or search for "remote desktop gnome wayland". It was one of the things that didn't work on wayland a while ago, but I think it now should be able to get working.
<DC-IRC>
<TGVoid> Should I be looking for some setting in a config file, or is Gnome on Xorg a completely different install?
<DC-IRC>
<TGVoid> Any downsides to nomachine? Switching to X11 after installing GDM just pulls up a black screen now

<catsmeat> What's the current status of XR819 wifi; has usability improved at all over its terrible reputation? I have a OPi0 LTS (H3) on its way, with intent to use wifi, but am wondering if I should cut my losses and order a USB wifi adapter as well?
