<Tonymac32> better than sway? I would be extremely interested in why given the very point of sway is a drop-in replacement

LFS is DOS for gnu/nix

<Tonymac32> I just injured my eyes rolling them so hard 🙂
<archetech>
so is Arch headless DOS for gnu/nix
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> especially since both DOS 6 and LFS violate the "you don't want to write a custom app/interface" part of my statement 😄
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> I can run dos on an ESP32 though, it's a wee slow
<Armbian-Discord>

rpardini: I notice some chatter on Github about changing the prefix on Rockchip dt overlays. (https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/4733#issuecomment-1402218015). I've got two in the works for rk3328. I assume that I should drop the rockchip and just prefix with rk3328?

EfeCTN: rpardini: Personally I think that I prefer the shorter name, but there are historic dtbo's, so I will go along with whatever is decided.

Tonymac32: For your PR, I have a orangepi-r1-plus-lts and can test.

<hobeldobel> Hi, I have a question about device tree files, if this is the wrong channel, please forward me to the right one 🙂 : How specific are device tree files? Can I simply grab any u-boot based arm64 image of whatever distro, add device tree files that are known to work on a different distro (for example armbian) and expect it to work?

<rpardini> schwar3kat: @EfeCTN -- I think more discussion is in https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/4734 -- but anyway I think it's restricted to that rockchip-rk3588 family -- which legacy branch is a multi-vendor crazy -- not "all" families.... hopefully

<Jason123> Most of the reason why I don't like sway is because of wayland not sway and my i3 config works better in x

Looking for any relevant information leading to solving the issue with audio on teres-a64 using armbian stable and/or testing >_<

just shows a 'dummy output' for me atm

<joshaspinall>
kreyren: are you using the image listed on the product page?
<kreyren>
joshaspinall, nah that image doesn't work (breaks after reboot and has other issues), i am working on https://github.com/armbian/build/pull/4756 and this image is built using the build system
<kreyren>
currently using the 5.15.89-sunxi64 kernel as the edge is broken
<joshaspinall>
hmm, 5.15 should be new enough. Is the audio controller supported in mainline?
<kreyren>
the audio works on the old image from 2017 provided by olimex that is using kernel 3.14 though
<kreyren>
i try to fix the edge kernel then
<joshaspinall>
is the daughterboard using i2c or is it just a passthrough connection?
<kreyren>
no idea

Seems to be a direct connection to the A64's pins for the audio through Flexible cable for the speaker on the left and wired to the right https://i.imgur.com/Lohg3Jq.png
<kreyren>
headphone jack checking..
<kreyren>
seems also direct connection just wiring for the debuging pins around it
