<Tenkawa> schwar3kat: do you have your compile.sh command handy?
<schwar3kat>
Tenkawa: yes but xfce desktop and config base desktop tools selected.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> going to try here with a bit more debugging on
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I had problems with a different xfce build earlier
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I am wondering if xfce itself might be a problem atm
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> not just in next
aasami_ has quit [Quit: Lost terminal]
<schwar3kat>
The issue is in both master and next. I suspect that it's something corrupt on armbian apt.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> yeah thats my thought too
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> since I was going against regular debian bullseye
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I've already got a note in to look into it in the morning
<schwar3kat>
Trying cinnamon.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> good idea

<Tenkawa> Yeah the rootfs for xfce appears just to be bad
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> even the amd64 one isn't matching the hash
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> File has unexpected size (34703 != 57613). Mirror sync in progress? [IP: ::1 3142]

See NO_APT_CACHER flag in docs.armbian.com

lanefu: Thanks... NO_APT_CACHER=yes did the trick.
<schwar3kat>
Looked at apt catcher ng service (didn't know about this) and found a different sized file cached on both of my test PC's. These do not match the ones in apt.armbian. I wonder if it's possible to automate flushing on fail.

<rpardini> schwar3kat: in -next, APT_CACHER is no longer useful / required, and will turned off by default. You'll have to enable it if you wanna use it. -next does local-folder caching which is much more trustworthy, and cache hit ratios are actually... higher.

Hm, I'm trying to build the 22.11.2 locally (using armbian-build with the v22.11 branch), but I'm getting this error while compiling the kernel, does that sound familiar to anyone? net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:3442:42: error: ‘HCI_QUIRK_BROKEN_PARK_LINK_STATUS’ undeclared. I'm using docker for the build, and the same commandline works ok with the master branch (./compile.sh docker BOARD=rockpi-s

<NicoD> I've got 5. It is ok, except for it overheating like crazy. I ordered some copper and huge thermal pads to try to improve it.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Jason123> Its been out for a few months now
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> And not the best quality. But that's what you get for 29dollar. A audio jack has fallen off when opening the case. Good that's the least important part.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Heating hasn't been a problem oddly for my 2 test units
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Really? Mine goes over 80C quickly and then clocks to 1.3Ghz - 1Ghz.
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> I'll test another unit.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> What are you outputting to?
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I ues a big screen tv
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Just a 1080p display. It is a little better when going to 720p.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I wonder how much the "gpu" gets throtlled
gp5st has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> GPU is also a problem. Panfrost seems very buggy. Not much works with gpu.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Its using panfrost? ouch
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Even supertuxkart doesn't work.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I havent paid attention
<archetech>
nuttin wrg w/ panfrost
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I was too busy trying to fix the networking
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> I did find a ton of games and educational software that works on it. So I'm happy.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Yeah in concept I know a really good target group here
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> It's great for dosbox too. With that only 1 core is used, so doesn't overheat and stays at 1.7Ghz.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> The group here only needs the wifi/sound fixed
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> This is what I install.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> The ethernet is a non-issue for them
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> execept supertuxkart. That I did install on RK3399.
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Doesn't it work? Haven't tried ethernet since it's got a 5Ghz wifi dongle and only 100MbE.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Not on 6.x kernel
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> it should on 5.5
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Right, You told me that.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I'm working on 6.x update
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Bad memory 🙂
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> join the club
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> lol
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> my short term is about gone
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> long term is fine... but I "do" have short term issues
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Mine too. Even long term is getting worse. I need to do test every now and then. Next week again.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Jason123> the lima driver is better?
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> It's genetics mostly. My mother is dementing and my grandfather from my dads side had alzheimer on young age.
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> And maybe some substance abuse for me in the past... So I had a good time for it 🙂
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Heh I am concerned about that eventually knowing my family history... my current is medical problems from about 8 years ago
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I have one "wild" med history
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> But hey.. its not stopping me 🙂
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Me too. Also happy to be able to be active.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Same
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Doing nothing ain't an option either 🙂
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> If it would ever stop raining for 2 days I'd be out riding my bike
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Wet + almost freezing != mix
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> I ride when it's nice weather. But in winter I don't ride enough. I should since it takes me too long to get at a good level to go on trips.
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Now looking to electify my bike. So that'll be easier on the next trip 🙂
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Now that went off topic quickly 😆

<RichN> Winter is Coming
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Here mostly about -5C to 10C. Not often colder. But I live near the sea. 15km further inland it gets colder. The more inland the colder it gets. But in summer it then stays cool at the coast. So instead of 35C we get 30C then.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Its way above avg atm here
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> We've had one snow/ice all season... granted it was a rough one
<Armbian-Discord>
<RichN> same here
<Armbian-Discord>
<RichN> I want more snow
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I like cold but not precipitation
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Same here. Had a week it was icecold and everything froze shut. But then we had the warmest first of January ever.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Yeah I think we set a record here too
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> 16C. It was crazy, I was walking outside in my tshirt.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> its 8.3C right now which is way too high for Jan 11
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> In North USA
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Yeah. Winters aren't the same anymore.
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> Even in my short life I see the changes. But my grandmother talks about times the see froze shut. Can't imagine that happening.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Yeah it was much colder in the decades ago I was young
<Armbian-Discord>
<NicoD> It's problems for the younger ones. At least I did my best not to make it worse by riding my bike and using ARM ...
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> Granted the swamps were also hot in the summer too blah
