Ooh, Nice! That is definitely reasurring, because I was worried that the wireless wouldn't work , but that's me being paranoid given what I had to do in the past, and all I want this is for a PiHole, lol
<Sabotender>
if it performs well, I will allow it to take the place of the firewall I have on one of my rackmount servers. I could repurpose it or disable it to conserve energy. Not that I am overloading my off-gridhome
<Sabotender>
I also ordered cooling fans for the heat sink, because the reviews mentioned it would run a bit warm with a PiHole active.

H3 is as i know completely stable
<stipa>
at least from the stories, i cam much later
<stipa>
came*
<stipa>
Orange Pi Zero Two is H616 , that's new
<stipa>
it has the same wifi chip as opi 3
<stipa>
that chip should work with the newest armbian probably
<Armbian-Discord>
<Jason123> yep the h3 is stable

<Werner> H616 was a poor choices. Most stuff still only works with vendor legacy kernel. Also interest in mainlining seems rather low
<Armbian-Discord>
<Jason123> even though the orange pi zero 2 might have replace the orange pi zero for some uses and the zero is not as powerful but the orange pi zero has better software support

So, it was mentioned that the processor within the Orange Pi 02 was a poor choice, because of 'lack of support' but, is there any support at all?
<Sabotender>
I couldn't care less if I would be using a kernel that is as old as hell, so long as it worked.
<Sabotender>
in other words, all I care is that there is something available that will allow the Orange Pi to boot.

<rpardini> @Scai @balbes150 I faced a lack of ACPI glue code between GMAC and PHY on the quartz64a, when booting via edk2 (UEFI) sans-device tree (ACPI only). Can fix via acpi=off kernel cmdline and pass DT via grub. Also heard (not confirmed) that if PHY driver is =y (not =m) helps

<balbes150> Write details about the model (4 or 8 GB of RAM), the exact link to the image, etc. in this topic. Try the version with EDK2. https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=16312
<Armbian-Discord>
<Scai> 8gb of ram & edk was tested
<Armbian-Discord>
<Scai> What's the difference
<Sabotender>
it's a reason why I prefer e-sim now. I'm trying to anticipate the correct version of Armbian to download and flash to this SD card for use when my Orange Pi arrives. Which version should I search for?

<Wolfo> How to update armbian on opi3 lts
<Armbian-Discord>
<Wolfo> I have desktop jaammy
<Armbian-Discord>
<Wolfo> Was the internal wifi card on opi problem fixed in the update?
<Armbian-Discord>
<Werner> No idea. Check release logs and/or commits on Github.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> I would so no on that
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> The VF2 is barely able to even boot right now to a serial console much less ise
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> (unless they are strictly using vendor kernel/drivers then it might be possibly done)..
<Sabotender>
I certainly hope I will be able to use an Armbian image to boot my Orange Pi when it arrives, that's for sure
<Sabotender>
Because it doesn't appear that it is specifically stated, I am going to try a Banana Pi image and hope it works

I wanted to avoid a vendor image, because people tend to shout over the rafters with megaphones of non-support if I dared to use one.
<Sabotender>
If I try asking questions for help
<archetech>
you dont ask for help for that here no ya just do it
<Sabotender>
heh. perhaps. I just do not want to think I am trying to be spoonfed. With that have been said, I did ask earlier regarding the best build for my version of Orange Pi Zero 2, didn't find one, so I chose the Banana Pi image instead.

<meteyou> i have a problem building a v23.02 image for the radxa-zero with packages from the repository. specifically it's a issue with "linux-u-boot-radxa-zero-current". i tested it with my github workflow and in the vm.
<Armbian-Discord>
<meteyou> here are my logs from the vm:
<Armbian-Discord>
<meteyou> can somebody help me with that, or explain the issue? other builds like orangepi4_lts or radxa-3a works fine.

<meteyou> and i have a question about LIB_TAG. does it make a difference if i first clone main/master and then use the attribute to build it, or can i directly clone the branch v23.02 and then build the image?

IgorPec : Ah, so the Jammy image will work? That's brilliant news! Thank you very much for providing this information, because I thought there would be a specific link for an Orange Pi Zero 2. Hmm or perhaps I may have overlooked it
