<Tonymac32> PC
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> but to be more serious, you need a bootloader somewhere
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> so on SPI on eMMC
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tonymac32> that can then chainload from ssd/hdd

IgorPec, howddya fixed 'DRM_IOCTL_MODE_CREATE_DUMB failed: Out of memory' on Allwinner A64 boards?
<IgorPec>
kreyren: i am sorry, but can't help. I haven't touched this in several years. I could know more about A64 3-4 years ago, today I have no idea what you are asking. And remember to ask once. We hear you, but I am not ChatGPT that can serve million people at once without sweating
<kreyren>
$ chatgpt "How did IgorPec solved the issue of DRM_IOCTL_MODE_CREATE_DUMB failed on A64 board 3-4 years ago?"
<kreyren>
IgorPec solved the issue of DRM_IOCTL_MODE_CREATE_DUMB failed on A64 board 3-4 years ago by creating a custom kernel patch that addressed the issue. Specifically, IgorPec wrote a patch to ensure that the EDID and GEM flushing calls were performed properly, thus resolving the issue.

<Jason123> The only a64 device I have is the pinephone and it does not even run armbian but at this point the a64 is old
<p0g0>
can anyone here point me to a good Howto for using an armbian rk3588s/G610 install (orangepi 5) as a wayland GUI server for a remote RDP client. The image I am (now) trying is the armbian website's Jammy Gnome sharing feature. I've tried the Debian images and the Orange Pi website's linux images (no joy). The client I am now trying to use to attach is the Debian Bullseye's KRDC. Broadly, I am seeking an analog to x11vnc:krdc that supports wayland and the G610
<p0g0>
GPU on the rk3588s board.
<p0g0>
I am new to wayland, in case that isn't obvious.
<p0g0>
I forgot to mention that I am using gdm3 with wayland=true in the config.

<EfeCTN> If you're using jammy, just follow the steps in orange Pi 5 page
<p0g0>
EfeCTN: That would be the Orange Pi 5 manual from the Orange Pi website?
<Armbian-Discord>
<EfeCTN> No armbian website
<p0g0>
EfeCTN looking for a "manual" on www.armbian.com/orangepi-5, nothing in the docs|FAQ, nothing on the page itself. What manual are you pointing me to?
<p0g0>
EfeCTN: I start there with all the Armbian images, it works to get the G610 running multimedia just fine. I am not encountering issues with 3d|G610 or stuff like VLC, what happens to me is when I try an RDP connection (VNC works but is slower than my rock64!) I get a momentary black screen on the client, then dumped out of the KRDC session. Noting in the server logs has illuminated a solution so far.
<p0g0>
EfeCTN: so, as asked, a Howto for serving an RDP GUI session from the rk3588s to a vanilla Debian X client is my goal.
<p0g0>
EfeCTN: and I have to go afk, thanks for your time and interest.
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> @<p0g0> @EfeCTN Keep in mine there are "many" rk3588s implementations and several are designed differently
<Armbian-Discord>
<Tenkawa> @EfeCTN that was more for p0g0 just thought I would cc you
