<kintel>
FYI: I'll attempt to look closer at the VBO stuff next. It may take a while, as I have limited focus time, but any ideas/input is welcome!
<kintel>
As described in the ticket, goals are to make sure it works well, get it out of experimental and, if possible, make it work on modern OpenGL (core profile)
<teepee>
nice, no direct ideas at this point, but it seems people have used it for quite a while with success
<teepee>
as of focus time, I need to find out how that works again too :)
<teepee>
also regarding the mail settings, I believe everything is set to "just - report - don't do anything" right now, but it's still hard to know what's going on
<teepee>
it seems to interfere with the mailing list, which should be fixed (emwd for some reason publishes spf records for other servers than they actually send from)
<teepee>
it's all a bit confusing and not working as documented
<teepee>
if the DMARC reports get annoying, let me know and I'll redirect them to a dedicated mail address ;-)

I also have no idea how that works, no need to filter emails yet, it's still manageable :)
<teepee>
the dmarc info mails are setup via the _dmarc.openscad.org TXT record, this has the address where to send reports to

sorry guys! This was probably too much ;( I just googled for the meaning of "feeding the trolls", IMHO this was just guy which found openscad immuatable variables.
<teepee>
wondering about this is fine, making suggestions is also fine, barging into the bugtracker with that language is not
<teepee>
I always wonder if those people would appreciate if I come into their house and tell them they are doing everything just wrong and should do it totally different
<teepee>
I don't mind such discussions on the mailing list or reddit or in some other discussion place
<guso78k>
message taken, sorry again
<teepee>
no problem. I'm often starting a reply too ;-)
<J23k>
ah mine .. yes those go public after 2month .. however that is one of the scAdvent designs
<teepee>
wow, all 216 entries
<J23k>
216 ? what entries
<teepee>
in that tape thingy contest, total number of entries
<J23k>

<teepee>
oh, my. scadvent, that's a reminder right there :)

maybe leftover from yesterday's friday 13th ?
<guso78k>
does Transform3d need to explicitely initalized to unity matrix ?
<guso78k>
Found Transform3d::Identity(). Now angle_axis_degrees returns credible results
<teepee>
what's that, from the eigen library?
<teepee>
but yes, that sounds sensible, starting with that initializer
<guso78k>
yeah, I reused the function which can rotate a point around an arbritary axis, but the rotation result was always rather zero. after initializing the matrix, things look much better

https://imgpile.com/i/DQ8i6R these are the 1st 6 triangles of my new SDF created sphere. used angle_axis_degrees to calculate the outer 6 points
<guso78k>
does your printer work on the lampshade now ?
