<arno11> Wizzup: yes makes sense (for not tracking $HOME) and seems to work fine
<arno11> cool for leste-config
<arno11> and for transitions, we have already shortcuts.ini.leste in the same directory
<arno11> so creating transitions.ini.leste should work, no ?
<Wizzup> what pkg diverts these shortcuts then?
<Wizzup> I think maybe only and I have this
<arno11> (in leste-config-n900/usr/share/hildon-desktop)
<Wizzup> but yes we can dpkg-divert the file, it just means we have to update it if/when we change it in hildon-desktop
<arno11> ah ok
<arno11> a xsession script before H-D starts otherwise ? (a bit too 'hacky' perhaps)
pere has joined #maemo-leste
<Wizzup> arno11: it's not a problem to ship a transitions.ini with divert
<Wizzup> I guess I just can't think of a better way :D
<arno11> ok :)
<arno11> and for tracker gsettings i suppose you'll use leste-config-n900.init ?
<Wizzup> that one I am still thinking about
<Wizzup> I think we probably don't want HOME indexed by default on all our devices
<Wizzup> but it would be kind of annoying if someone does want it, but then every time they get some updates we reset it
<Wizzup> so maybe we should change the tracker pkg default values, since we ship our own tracker version anyway
<arno11> ok makes sense, a basic applet in hildon settings could be useful btw
<Wizzup> for tracker?
<Wizzup> yeah it probably would be
<arno11> yes for tracker
<Wizzup> maybe make an issue for it
<arno11> ok, good idea

<kiva> If somebody want test browsers Three.js fps in Leste then this is nce page: https://ays-arts.de/public/terrain/
<kiva> *nice page
<kiva> I get with Firefox in Pinephone 12 fps, but if I put Firefox in full screen I get 15-19 FPS.
narodnik has quit [Quit: WeeChat 4.2.2]
<kiva> BUT...it does not show what it should..it should show terrain and not vertical bars.
<kiva> ok..it might be for KaiOS and might need adapted for Leste.https://github.com/Sekuta82/ScrollingTerrain_KaiOS
<kiva> 23-25 fps in portrait mode in QT WebBrowser
<kiva> it would be nice to know what FPS in another Leste devices.
<Wizzup> are you planning to try to improve perf, or?
<Wizzup> uvos: do we want this in sysctl.d ?
<Wizzup> net.ipv4.neigh.default.interval_probe_time_ms = -1

<arno11> kiva: i got 22-25 fps in Firefox portrait mode/ no fullscreen with my redmi (Proot)
<kiva> arno11: good to know
<kiva> Wizzup: Just testing.
<arno11> interesting how proot performs well btw
<arno11> Wizzup: i opened an issue for tracker UI
<Wizzup> ty
<Wizzup> there's also tracker3 on the roadmap fwiw...
<dsc_> <kiva> 23-25 fps in portrait mode in QT WebBrowser <== Not 'jib', right?
<dsc_> I think the Qt test webbrowser uses QML so probably some performance loss there
<arno11> Wizzup: yes and most CPU/RAM troubles seems to disappear using tracker 3 (according to ubuntu forum)
<arno11> biab

<Wizzup> uvos: well we still need to figure out some vkb for qt apps (regarding jib being better)
<Wizzup> it might make sense to borrow some of the qtwebbrowser code for this
<Wizzup> until we have a better solution in place
<Wizzup> then again calendar etc also suffer from this

<uvos> Wizzup: cant we just enable the qt vkb globally
<uvos> for qt
<uvos> this is just an envvar no?
<uvos> you can get mz617 kexecboot to show a leste install on a usb stick via otg
<uvos> but for some reason it hangs when you try to boot it :(
<Wizzup> uvos: what env var? I am game to try it
<uvos> sec im looking for it
<uvos> btw ibus
<uvos> Wizzup: QT_IM_MODULE=qtvirtualkeyboard works on my desktop machine
<Wizzup> ok, let me try it with jib
<uvos> the main problem is going to be hildon
<uvos> it dosent support the type of window this creates
<uvos> whats in the "tiny image"
<uvos> is this just cli?
<Wizzup> no, it's basically what I got you yesterday
<uvos> but thats 900mb
<uvos> :P
<Wizzup> .xz
<Wizzup> :)
<uvos> ok
<uvos> right
<Wizzup> hildon-meta-core and most man pages etc gone
<Wizzup> but has wifi/touch/terminal etcc
<uvos> and 500mb of drivers
<uvos> for gpus we dont have
<uvos> :P
<Wizzup> like 70mb or so but yes
<Wizzup> :D
<uvos> qt and gtk support this btw https://github.com/ibus/ibus/wiki
<uvos> well gtk3+
<Wizzup> yeah I do know ibus
<Wizzup> didn't know gtk2 didn't support it
<uvos> probubly would be better than xtest
<Wizzup> btw your droid4-linux branch has two commits that add the hp interrupt
<Wizzup> and then you remove it in a later commit
<Wizzup> (which is fine, just letting you know)
<uvos> yeah i know it ended up in there twice
<Wizzup> those two add it
<uvos> i know
<uvos> i gues reverting one would have been cleaner
<uvos> but eh
<Wizzup> *shrug*
<Wizzup> you can rebase so you can throw away whatevre you wnat
<Wizzup> (for calls)
<Wizzup> if even just the names changed or something
<uvos> could be
<uvos> then again we allready know that even if nothing is powered, speaker audio should work
<uvos> because of the hw bug in cpcap
<uvos> that dosent allow that part to power down
<Wizzup> hm
<uvos> but yes diffing the regs between 6.1 and 6.6 is an obvious first step
<Wizzup> the fun never stops :D
<Wizzup> QT_IM_MODULE=qtvirtualkeyboard jib
<Wizzup> so this indeed kind of works but yes the windows isn't overlayed/on top
<uvos> dose the jib context menu also not work for you on d4?
<Wizzup> I think it does for me, let me try
<Wizzup> maybe you need to delete the jib user data or something
<Wizzup> it works for me
<uvos> where dose jib store its data?
<Wizzup> $HOME/.local/share/Kroket\ Ltd./jib/
<Wizzup> (yes it's confusing :p)
<uvos> so refresh seams to work
<uvos> and back
<uvos> but new window or new tab dosent
<uvos> also "QLayout: Attempting to add QLayout "" to WebWidget "widgetWeb", which already has a layout" allways comes with the context menu
<uvos> specificly the context menu that pops up when you longpress something OTHER than a link is fine
<uvos> but the context menu that comes when you press on a link is not
<dsc_> Wizzup: eh, that needs changing to maemo
<dsc_> @ dirname
<dsc_> QLayout: Attempting to add QLayout "" to WebWidget "widgetWeb", which already has a layout <== this is "normal" :PPpP
<dsc_> just Qt things
<dsc_> uvos: new window should work...
<Wizzup> so I checked and the website I am trying to use also doesn't work with qtwebbrowser, so it's probably qt web engine thing
<dsc_> heh'
<Wizzup> dsc_: or just make .local/share/jib ?
<Wizzup> (without maemo)
<dsc_> there are 2 places; ~/.config/jib/ for SQLite db and config file, then there's ~/.local/share/... that Qt webview creates
<dsc_> uvos: try deleting `/.config/jib/`

<Wizzup> anything special about your d4?
<uvos> not really
<uvos> its also not the touch itself

<uvos> i can select create new window with the keyboard and click enter with it
<uvos> it also dosent work in this case either

<arno11> Wizzup: you should try all tweaks: i'm able to launch around 20 apps @the same time :) with no boost. RAM usage stays @180-190 with 200-250 of swap. H-D is still quite smooth, apps are slower ofc but still usable
<Wizzup> what apps?
<arno11> almost all my apps
<arno11> so i discovered a bug
<Wizzup> ok, let's see, I think I just need to set up the transistions.ini divert
<Wizzup> and then leste-config has all your tweaks, no?
<arno11> yes excepting tracker i think
<Wizzup> oh, the gsettings change... yeah....
<arno11> (the bug: scrolling doesn't work in the window showing all apps opened)
<arno11> the cursor appears but when i try to scroll, it returns to desktop
<arno11> anyway minor bug
<Wizzup> the window all apps opened = the hildon expose?
<arno11> yes i suppose
<arno11> i mean the window where you can switch between opened apps
<Wizzup> damnit debian doesn't maintain recent anki builds and the one that it does provide is the same as which we have, and it doesn't so custom syncing
<arno11> i never used it but seems really cool
<Wizzup> yeah, it is, but I'm frustated because now I still have to use my laptop and I really wanted to do it on leste
<Wizzup> as for the gsettings and tracker, I am still not sure how to properly do it
<Wizzup> when to set it, from where, etc.
<Wizzup> /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/org.freedesktop.Tracker.Miner.Files.gschema.xml sets the default to $HOME and &DOWNLOADS
<Wizzup> so we could re-build tracker-miners and change the default gsettings value and remove $HOME fro it
<Wizzup> that seems like the cleanest way imo
<arno11> ok i see
