<arno11> Wizzup: i'm currently looking @pcsx and just noticed we have an issue with PA in build-linux: 'fatal error: pulse/pulseaudio.h: No such file or directory'
<arno11> #include <pulse/pulseaudio.h>
<arno11> it doesn't happen with local build
<Wizzup> you need to depend on sone -dev pkg
<Wizzup> let me see if I can find the name for you
<arno11> ok thx
<Wizzup> lubpulse-dev ?
<Wizzup> libpulse-dev ?
<arno11> let me check, ty
<arno11> libpulse-dev is already in control
<Wizzup> is it in build-depends
<arno11> yep
<Wizzup> in that case maybe pkg-config is not called or something
<Wizzup> can't be anything else
<arno11> ok i'll have a look
<Wizzup> so where do you see this problem specifically
<Wizzup> what is build-linux ?
<arno11> on the CI
<arno11> (linux armhf)
<freemangordon> what build system? automake?
<freemangordon> where is the code?
<arno11> maemo-leste-extra/pcsx_rearmed
<freemangordon> what the?
<freemangordon> how was the configure script created?
<arno11> that's the original one from notaz
<arno11> iirc
<freemangordon> I understand that, but man, what a mess
<arno11> yes indeed !!!
<arno11> it builds well locally btw
<arno11> with no pulseaudio troubles
<freemangordon> this shall be CFLAGS += $(shell pkg-config --cflags hildon-1 libpulse) -DHAVE_TSLIB
<freemangordon> similar to line 232
<arno11> :D you're the best man
<freemangordon> arno11: please, do not install in /usr/games
<arno11> libpulse or libpulse-dev btw ?
<freemangordon> there is /opt for that
<freemangordon> libpulse
<arno11> ok
<arno11> and ok
<freemangordon> so, I think the proper place to install is /opt/pcsx_rearmed or somesuch
<Wizzup> sorry
<Wizzup> I don't think we should use /opt for this
<Wizzup> I think /usr/games is fine
<Wizzup> but maybe fmg and I should figure this out amongst ourselves
<freemangordon> Wizzup: what is /usr/games ?!?
<arno11> i think it is better to keep /usr/games atm
<arno11> because of all tricky directories with memcards and bios
<arno11> and user config file
<freemangordon> Wizzup: see the answer
<freemangordon> there is no standard for /usr/games
<freemangordon> it shall be in either /usr/share/ or even better in /opt
Rodney_ has quit [Ping timeout: 252 seconds]
<Wizzup> I think opt is normally when you go around the package manager no :)
<freemangordon> no\
<freemangordon> hmm, what the?!? I have /usr/games on my ubuntu :D
<freemangordon> oh, ok
<Wizzup> maybe dpkg -S it
<freemangordon> well, there are games in it, no need to verisy
<Wizzup> ok
<freemangordon> my understanding is that /usr and /opt might not be on the same filesystems, lets see what specs say about it
<Wizzup> the specs are rather comvoluted on this exactly
<Wizzup> the really prehistoric idea was that /usr was a separate partition from /bin/ and /lib
<Wizzup> systemd folks have been trying to 'fix' this by unifying it all
<freemangordon> but that's still valid
<Wizzup> yeah I didn't say it was valid or not
<freemangordon> as you may have /usr/bin on a RO partition
<freemangordon> the same for /usr/lib
<Wizzup> I see /opt mostly for going outside of package manager and/or crappy binary only sw
<Wizzup> maemo used it as a convenient way to store on larger storage partition
<Wizzup> maemo was in fremantle
<Wizzup> as in*
<freemangordon> I see it differently
<Wizzup> the whole optify concept was nice then, but it's pretty bad now IMO
<Wizzup> we already really don't need it
<Wizzup> s/already/also/
<freemangordon> see, the fact that nokia made a hack out of it does not invalidate the concept as such :)
<Wizzup> btw, i'm a little baffled as my razr doesn't want to connect to a hrvatska a1 network using a hrvatska sim, but it is happy with my fallback dutch sim
<Wizzup> but in android both work
<Wizzup> but in leste the hrvatska sim just gets status:denued according to ofono
<Wizzup> denied
<Wizzup> and NetworkRegistration.Scan doesn't seem to trigger a lot of modem chatter at all, using n_gsm.debug=0xff
<freemangordon> "Traditionally, the /opt directory is used for installing/storing the files of third-party applications that are not available from the distribution’s repository."
<Wizzup> yes
<freemangordon> no, we can argue if extras is distribution repo
<freemangordon> *now
<Wizzup> it is
<freemangordon> how's that?
<arno11> (it fails again with same PA error)
<freemangordon> arno11: check in the logs if that configure file is executed at all and if platform is recognized as maemo
<Wizzup> freemangordon: it's literally the same host, same ci, same orga that runs it
<freemangordon> where are the logs BTW
<Wizzup> (us)\
<Wizzup> freemangordon: I'm more interesting in knowing exactly how arno11 is trying this since I don't see any jenkins activity
<freemangordon> heh :)
<Wizzup> in any case I don't care if things install in /opt because they used to do it on maemo and we're lazy to fix it (or lack time), but let's not go out of our way and put more foss things that we build from source in /opt
<freemangordon> ok, ok
<freemangordon> but /usr/games
<freemangordon> meh :)
<freemangordon> my eyes bleed
<Wizzup> haha :D
<freemangordon> ok, it seems neverball also installs there
<Wizzup> btw, I switched my main sim to leste :)
<Wizzup> exciting times
<arno11> :)
<freemangordon> hehe
<freemangordon> I will do after I finish connui-cell
<freemangordon> maybe ;)
<freemangordon> and after call audio issues are fixed
<Wizzup> well there will be many more call audio issues I am sure (like on 6.9), but yes
<Wizzup> it would be nice to also have the ofono 2.x some time so we can try dtmf
<Wizzup> this will probably be my biggest problem for the time to come
<Wizzup> brb
<freemangordon> why platform is generic?
<arno11> ah that's a 'hack' to force use gtk generic UI
<freemangordon> why?
<Wizzup> uvos: hm, how do I get into headset from sphone?
<Wizzup> uvos: I plugged a headset in but I don't see it in the UI
<freemangordon> arno11: what's wrong with hildon ui?
<arno11> otherwise we need old osso deps
<freemangordon> like what?
<freemangordon> we should have everything
<Wizzup> btw, having connui-cellular done would be nice since there are still 75% change for internet connections settings applet to crash when it is loaded
<arno11> fmg: sorry can't answer for now
<arno11> bbl
<freemangordon> arno11: just change the platform locally and try to build

<mdz> hello
<mdz> how's the development going?
<mdz> haven't checked in in some time now

<mdz> so that it would be able to browse WWW normally
ungeskriptet has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
ungeskriptet7 is now known as ungeskriptet
<Wizzup> mdz: well I'd say leste on the n900 is better than fremantle already, but modern html/css/js on n900 will be a hard sell because of the old hw
<mdz> also are there any 3D models of the N900 PCB?
<mdz> I've found the Neo900 project but nothing there regarding that, only found the RX-51 schematics
<Wizzup> I don't think the neo900 project is active or will ever be finished
<Wizzup> if you want something like the n900, but a droid 4
<Wizzup> s/but a/get a/
<Wizzup> or droid3 once we support it properly
<unic0rn> I'm trying to run maserati-calibrate, but it throws an error due to missing nvs_map.bin in /tmp/pds/wifi
<unic0rn> when mounting pds manually, there's nothing there, only folders, no files at all
<sicelo> Neo was officially scrapped. Closed.
<mdz> Wizzup: the Neo is closed sadly
<mdz> Wizzup: I'm just interested if the Leste could be brought to modern HW, given that someone would create such a HW
<Wizzup> unic0rn: you don't need to run it manually, it's done automatically
<Wizzup> mdz: we are working under the assumption that leste will run on more devices, but we limit ourselves to a handful of devices now due to lack of time and needing to focus on other parts of leste
<sicelo> mdz: it's running on pinephone.
<Wizzup> so we support various mapphone phones, the n900, the pinephone, the pinephone pro to a degree, some mapphone tablets
<sicelo> and hopefully very soon will support librem5 too
<Wizzup> we're not in the position to even dream of making hw ourselves of course
<mdz> allright
<mdz> i understand, but just for the sake of this conversation, what SOC would you choose, given the modern needs
<Wizzup> I don't have the answer honestly
<Wizzup> probably one that is decent at power management and has open drivers for the gpu
<Wizzup> (maybe others have a better answer)
<unic0rn> Wizzup: then why am I getting this: https://pastebin.com/raw/caxhtM7S ?
<Wizzup> is this the first boot since you dd'd a new sd card?
<unic0rn> no.
<Wizzup> there is something on the wiki about re-doing this
<unic0rn> there is indeed.
<unic0rn> boils down to reinstalling the module
<unic0rn> you think reinstalling will repopulate pds?
<unic0rn> from what I gathered, it's some mmc1 partition
<unic0rn> I'll try
<unic0rn> nope.
<Wizzup> is your wifi currently in use / enabled?
<unic0rn> yes
<Wizzup> try ifconfig wlan0 down and try again
<Wizzup> I don't recall if you will get an interface named wlan1 or not, but our scripts should have abstracted all of this away
<Wizzup> uvos probably rembmers better than I do on this

<Wizzup> not sure what's up then
<Wizzup> uvos might be able to help
<Wizzup> I haven't seen this issue in years, so I don't remember
<Wizzup> anything unusual about your setup, or?
<unic0rn> I don't think so. I did dist-upgrade earlier but that shouldn't matter.
<unic0rn> I think it's a matter of pds partition, I have no idea what it is exactly
<unic0rn> I got this phone years ago and haven't really used it earlier, it came rooted with cyanogen installed, so someone was messing with it already
<Wizzup> that should not matter
<unic0rn> what is that pds partition exactly?
<Wizzup> again, I don't remember, wait for others
<Wizzup> sorry
<Wizzup> when you installed leste, did you flash android as mentioned
<Wizzup> that is VRZ_XT894_9.8.2O-72_VZW-18-8_CFC.xml.zip
<Wizzup> unic0rn: seems like this might be your problem?
<unic0rn> nope, since I already had the kernel
<unic0rn> so I've skipped it as the wiki suggested, cyanogen had the kernel required
<Wizzup> ok, well, my suggestion would be to flash stock android and reinstall kexecboot
<unic0rn> what does "reset the FEM parameters to stock settings" mean?
<Wizzup> clearly cyanogenmod has a different partition contents
<Wizzup> I have no more suggestions/recommendations beyond that
<unic0rn> I've figured it may matter, but I don't see anything in that android update flash script that would go into pds partition

<freemangordon> not here in the VM, after the issues I had yesterday with hanging sphone
* freemangordon checks d4
<freemangordon> no
<freemangordon> Wizzup: I think calls started from abook/desktop contact are not logged
<Wizzup> could be, I am not sure
<Wizzup> in any case sphone does not set group uid at all
<freemangordon> oh, I see the number
<freemangordon> but not the contact
<Wizzup> yes
<freemangordon> I guess this is the 'group_id' issue
<Wizzup> uvos: can we use call->backend to get properties for rtcom logging?

<freemangordon> oh, thanks!
<freemangordon> dsc_: hmm, conversations started to mark my messages with the opposite side name :)
<Wizzup> dsc_: we seem to log as ring/tel/account0 as opposed to ring/tel/ring, but I think that's probably just how it's called now in tp, should not matter
<freemangordon> Wizzup: yes, that's the proper account
<Wizzup> what do you mean opposide side name?
<freemangordon> the other party
<freemangordon> lemme try to take a screenshot
<Wizzup> yes but is the problem in the logging itself or whethe the message is placed right or left
<Wizzup> oh ahaha
<Wizzup> I see it now yes
<freemangordon> mhm
<Wizzup> both sides have the remote contacts name
<freemangordon> yes
<Wizzup> well at least it's not in the logging itself
<freemangordon> and they are reversed
<Wizzup> since it does this to my fremantle data too
<Wizzup> I don't see this
<freemangordon> reversed as - my messages appear on the right and the other party's mesage - on the left
<Wizzup> heh sphone logs like this atm:
<Wizzup> sphone//org/freedesktop/Telepathy/Account/ring/tel/account0/sphone
<freemangordon> hmm, ctrl->shift->P, right?
<Wizzup> for screenshot?
<freemangordon> mhm

<dsc_> anything above that is something I need to investigate
<freemangordon> great
<freemangordon> I have to leave though in 2-3 minuts
<dsc_> freemangordon: Yeah, I made that a few days ago
<freemangordon> is it pushed?
<dsc_> it groups them if the messages are 30 sec apart (or something like that)
<dsc_> yes
<freemangordon> cool
<dsc_> groups = it will not show the username and time, which saves vertical space
<dsc_> its not "true grouping" where its placed into one message box
<dsc_> I was considering that though, but was a tad bit of work
