<arno11> Wizzup: indeed, adding a .nomedia file in /home/user/ is enough to block trackers
pere has joined #maemo-leste
<Wizzup> hm, ok, I think that could work, but does it indeed not watch the directory then?
<Wizzup> nice trick btw :)
<Wizzup> arno11: maybe .trackerignore is nicer
<arno11> indeed it doesn't watch the directory anymore
<arno11> and indeed .trackerignore is nicer
<Wizzup> ok, great
<Wizzup> and you can tell it doesn't index them because it doesn't trigger on things, or?
<Wizzup> What I meant with watch it whether it still monitors for file changes or not, and the njust discards them
<Wizzup> but I think I'm being overly pedantic
<arno11> it just ignores files in the folder apparently
<Wizzup> ok, that's maybe not as optimal as it not watching the directory at all I think
<Wizzup> (if we're communicating well...:D)
<Wizzup> I think if it alleviates the issues you're seeing then we're good
<Wizzup> the issue you made also mentions boot time, we really haven't done anything to optimise that and I'd prefer to revisit that (way) later
<arno11> according to gnome.org, both methods are similar in result (.trackerignore or gsettings)
<Wizzup> ok
<Wizzup> I also looked at the code and it seems to do the same thing
<Wizzup> I'm just wondering how it knows if .trackerignore is removed :P
<arno11> good question lol
<arno11> for boot stuff: ok
<arno11> sorry, have to go. bbl

<Gellert> hello
<Wizzup> hi
<Gellert> idk im rlly bored rn
<Gellert> anyways,
<Gellert> can you install maemo leste on a modern cellphone?
<Wizzup> With proot you can, but then it doesn't replace android
<Gellert> oh ok
<uvos__> also any phone you can run gnu/linux on should be doable with a bit of effort
<Gellert> i gtg

<Wizzup> quick & efficient
<dsc_> another happy customer
<Wizzup> building new conversations for -devel
<Wizzup> with improved notifications, group chat, is-read marking
<Wizzup> beware, might have some new bugs :^)
<inky> garage.maemo.org is not accessible for me. how about you?

<Wizzup> seems like it is not
<Wizzup> uvos__: oh, I still owe you the group uid stuff for sphone
<Wizzup> let me see..
<inky> hmm, i wanted to fetch a program from there, to port to leste. :
<inky> :/
f_ has joined #maemo-leste
<Wizzup> go to #maemo on libera and ask :)
<Wizzup> they usually fix it pretty quickly
<inky> ty, i'll try
<uvos__> Wizzup: cat /sys/kernel/debug/regmap/spi0.0/registers in a call if you get the chance
<Wizzup> on 6.1?
<uvos__> both
<Wizzup> ok, yes, I will, I am getting pulled into a meeting as we speak, but I will get back to you when I am done with that
<Wizzup> btw does the modem show on your mZ617
<Wizzup> mz617*
<uvos__> no
<sicelo> inky: what program? you should be able to download the tarball from maemo.org/packages/view/...
<inky> yes, they never published it...
<inky> i am thinking to view the latest state of maebble
<inky> which is for pebble.
<inky> so should i get mz617? it'll work?
<inky> another question, i would like to try conversations again, i have Jabber (gabble) and xmpp (haze).
<inky> which should i choose?

<uvos__> inky: mz617 so far its still very hard to install anything on it
<uvos__> inky: also lots of stuff dosent work
<uvos__> like the modem
<uvos__> the ts is flaky
<uvos__> charging is increably anemic
<inky> ts?
<uvos__> touchscreen
<inky> understand!
<uvos__> the install procdeure is especcaly redicules at this point
<uvos__> like you have to use that awfully complecated root method via qemu
<uvos__> then you have dd stuff from android to various places which if anything goes wrong with that the deivce is bricked
<inky> sigh, understand.
<uvos__> then you have to somehow get something onto the device with android, which is hard becasue if you want to put something on userdata (the only large partion available) you have to condend with the fact that you have no where to place the image temporarly (so you have to do it via network)
<inky> i'll wait a bit then. i have a d3 and i cannot useit, don't want it to repeat.
<uvos__> and that android will start breaking around you while you do it
<inky> the installation complications and modem not working is fine.
<inky> i can do that.
<inky> but charging and ts ... i'll wait a bit then.
<inky> (:
<Wizzup> I have my tablet on the charger all the time and it's ok fwiw
<uvos__> at least it seams stable
<Wizzup> but yeah
<Wizzup> the ts is stable too, it just needs a few probes
<Wizzup> I do want to take *another* stab at the d3, but it's been frustrating :)
<uvos__> i mean i find that flakey :P
<Wizzup> yes it is
<inky> so gabble vs haze, i chose gabble, it seems fine. haze wouldn't give me omemo right?
<sicelo> inky: you might find the tarball in a tmo post perhaps ... i vaguely recall that the author used to place them there after a while (i never used it myself)
<uvos__> inky: btw mz617 modem
<uvos__> it will never do voice
<uvos__> it cant do it
<inky> great, i never use voice via modem anyway.
<inky> and i carry with myself a portable wifi router for all my devices.
<inky> so i won't use modem most probably ever.
<uvos__> i gues it would be cool to use the mz617 as a portable lte router
<uvos__> since its the only mapphone that can do muti band lte
<inky> wow, that's an idea! (:
<Wizzup> inky: no, neither give omemo currently

<arno11> Wizzup: i've tried the new conversations version and it works fine, no particular bug at the moment, a bit slow the first time i launched it (but i didn't reboot, just killall) and now that's ok for both sms and facebook
<arno11> notif blue led is really cool
<arno11> and notif on lock screen works too
<arno11> so well done
<Wizzup> :)
<Wizzup> uvos__: so the group_uid for sms looks like ring/tel/account0-+31... - +31 is of course just the dutch extension, so for sphone I guess it could be sphone/tel/sim1/+31... or something like this, or just sphone/+31... or sphone/tel/+31..., as long as it's something and unique per caller
<Wizzup> for the voicecall module it would be nice if the group uid could come from the plugin perhaps though, then we can keep it synced with conversations group uids
<Wizzup> ring/tel/account0-+31... etc
fab_ has quit [Ping timeout: 272 seconds]
<arno11> Wizzup: btw for transitions, the easiest way is maybe to 'repair' cssufeatures package (not possible to install it anymore because of python-pyqt5 missing in repos iirc) and add radius stuff in updateTransitions ?
<arno11> this way users can choose if they want to keep blur or not (and slowness or speed lol)
<arno11> (just an idea btw)
