Good morning, after 11 years I bought an another n900, got scammed as it was suppose to be fully working, only to find that the screen is kinda defective, I can calibrate the top scree 1 and 2 but no way I can calibrate the second bottom half 3 and 4, do you think I should replace the touch screen or a flash might save it...

Sorry about that. You will have to replace the touch. Or, give up on N900 and get Droid 4 or pinephone

I tried to replace a digitiser but it was quite hard :)
<sixwheeledbeast>
possibly the digitizer flex/connector or main flex/connector? if you rule out the software your left with a hardware fault.

parazyd: what about acitvating charge-mode for mapphones?
<uvos>
see the discarge curve of a lipo, there is no power below 3.3
<uvos>
cycle life wise it drops off conciderably below 3.3v too
<sicelo>
the thing is - 3248 is burned into the EPROM of bq27200
<uvos>
yeah sure
<uvos>
but why 3.198?
<uvos>
that seams random
<sicelo>
lol
<uvos>
is it x adc steps?
<sicelo>
anyway, the voltage must be below 3248 for around 15s, iirc
<uvos>
lol?
<sicelo>
3198 is what nokia had in bme.
<sicelo>
just make it whatever you like really. but if it's higher than 3248, your users will not be able to calibrate their batteries.
<sicelo>
the Li-ion batteries in the Nokias seem to perform alright with these low voltages ... at least I don't recall issues about premature battery wear mentioned anywhere on tmo. i know Li-Po and Li-ion are similar in many ways though
<uvos>
well li-po = li-ion
<uvos>
lipo is just a type of liion
<uvos>
anyhow yeah some solution is needed
<uvos>
ill lower the voltage for now
<uvos>
but i would be more comfortable with a 3.3v and a special charge mode maybe
