N900 (even with Fremantle) does not support STK. Unless there's some special way to do it

As for using ofono, it works normally for N900. Calls, SMS, and USSD. Of course calls have issues with the audio

Also, you can't directly talk AT with the modem, IRC. Communication happens over ISI/HSI, but you can get an AT wrapper of some sort. On Fremantle, `pnatd` was that. No idea how you would do it on Leste
