<phinxy> Is a musl based distro slower at compiling Linux? I got 800 seconds compilation time vs 500 on Debian.
<sad_plan> im pretty sure that depends on a lot of other things besides your libc
<sad_plan> kernel config for one will affect compiletime by a lot

<phinxy> My CPU seems to be using intel_cpufreq instead of intel_pstate
<sad_plan> thats something atleast. not that im familiar with either of them though

<asimovc> riteo: can you send me your .config kernel?
<asimovc> maybe is some config missing
<asimovc> also can you send me your jack stuff and pulseaudio stuff that you use to build pipewire?
<asimovc> i see in gentoo wiki that pulseaudio or jack are related to screencast

<midfavila> >not running your cpu at max freq all the time
<midfavila> smdh
<midfavila> i remember running into a weird af bug with my desktop where that was the fix
<midfavila> interference from my xeons was making it into the sound card and out my headphones
<midfavila> but yeah check your config and build env variables
<midfavila> cc flags and ld flags can have an impact
<midfavila> maybe also swap bfd for gold, mold, or lld
<midfavila> if you havent already
<midfavila> well actually hrm
<midfavila> gold cant do linux, but can mold/lld?

<riteo> asimovc: you don't need to rebuild it with debug afaik
<asimovc> can you send me your builds of pulseaudio stuff and jack?
<asimovc> maybe enabling jack solves it
<asimovc> or some option in pulseaudio
fultilt has joined #kisslinux
<riteo> asimovc: I don't have pipewire jack
<riteo> only pipewire-pulse
<riteo> and it's part of pipewire
<riteo> I can send you my manifest if you want
<riteo> no sorry my dependencies
<riteo> note that there's also bluetooth stuff in there
<asimovc> your build that you send me days ago
<asimovc> Is saing that you have jack enabled for build
<asimovc> your pulseaudio is from kiss-dbus or you modified too?
<riteo> I don't have a pulseaudio package
<riteo> pipewire-pulse comes from the pipewire package
<riteo> there's libpulse but I never ever touched it
<riteo> again I'd really turn on debug logs and see what it says because something is off
<riteo> my experience with pipewire was... plug 'n' play pretty much
<riteo> only once messing around with undocumented (KISS-wise) setups I had to add a single config snippet and that's it
<asimovc> okay
<asimovc> can you send me your kernel config?
<asimovc> maybe solve something
<asimovc> cause now i can't mess to much with it, only later
<riteo> uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh not sure if I embedded something in there
<riteo> I gave the kernel a lot of responsability
<riteo> let's see what the debug logs say first
<asimovc> okay
<asimovc> later i will send

<sad_plan> midfavila: I dont belive mold is able to link the kernel yet
<midfavila> rip
<sad_plan> it also cant link webkit. probably lots of other stuff aswell
<sad_plan> webkit could really benefit from mold though
<sad_plan> im also going to boot up my rpi 1B this weekend. atleast thats the idea. tilde.club never responds to my request, so I might aswell just selfhost :p I dont use it for anything either. has always just been on the shelf collecting dust really
<sad_plan> board says is from 2011. which is interesting, as afaik, rpi 1 wasnt released before 2012 :p

<sad_plan> does anyone here use pounce? and with catgirl that is.
<sad_plan> how does connecting to different network look like? do you have to run multiple instances of catgirl for all networks?
<sad_plan> 1 for each network I mean
raph_ael has joined #kisslinux
ivyfri13_ has joined #kisslinux
<vulpine> you indeed have to run an instance per network
<ivyfri13_> i use tmux to manage that lol
<sad_plan> so, catgirl would be less convinient that senpai in this regard. wonderfull
