michaelni: who is responsible for Trac? it's been very unreliable of late and spews '503 Service unavailable' errors quite often
Krowl has joined #ffmpeg-devel
<michaelni>
Sean_McG, theres a bug in apache that results in apache and trac processes not being connectec correctly, generally restarting apache fixes it (i just restarted apache so it should be ok now) the permanent fix will be the next OS upgrade,
<michaelni>
maybe someone like BtbN has a better idea or implements some other solution of course, that would certainly not be unwelcome ...
<JEEB>
interesting. is there anything else there in that setup that requires apache? since if it's just handling TLS and transferring certain paths to the local trac process, then you could try nginx (if it's either fastcgi or http that trac utilizes locally)

<courmisch>
is it me or some FATE test look for bit-exact results over float?
<JEEB>
I would definitely not be surprised if some test would be doing that
<courmisch>
that can't work whilst we have -fno-signed-zeros
<JEEB>
we have some testing infra for "close enough", but if the test isn't using that...
<courmisch>
I think I'm going to be needing the --blame-somebody-else flag for git-bisect

<Lynne>
anyone know of a linear programming solver lib with a C api?
<Lynne>
I wouldn't refuse c++ either, this is a one-off and I've already got some c++ wrapper code
<Sean_McG>
does Boost have something like that?
<Lynne>
bleh, let me rephrase, I wouldn't refuse c++ either as long as it isn't boost
<Sean_McG>
that's fair
<Lynne>
I don't think it supports anything but ax=b form matrix problems either, and what I've got is a polynomial, and a few requirements, fairly high level
<elenril>
isn't that just SVD+newton?
<blb>
ceres solver has a C api, i think?
<Lynne>
yup, looks like ceres has what I need, thanks

I think SVD+newton is what the problem gets reduced down to, but I'm lazy
