ramiro: nice, I believe the gain on A53 should be the same. for short sequences, it usually doesn't affect out-of-order cores at all, for longer sequences it can have a small effect (but usually acceptable, given the gains on small cores)

ramiro: is the orangepi 5 plus stable or flakey in your experience? I read about someone else who had that one, where it wasn't quite stable
<wbs>
(I'm considering getting a new devboard; the rpi5 I would expect to be rock solid. the orangepi seems faster, and has A55 cores, but I've got bad experiences with older rockchip devboards)

<ramiro>
wbs: the orange pi 5 plus is pretty stable for me. it's a bit annoying to depend on non-upstreamed packages that are heavily patched and still evolving, but it's doable.

<ePirat>
jamrial, sent a patch to fix a return of uninit data you introduced in 38bcb3ba7b3424abd772c72f8bdf445d75285e88
<ePirat>
jamrial, also maybe check your compiler warnings why you got none, as for me clang prints a warning for this in addition to it being found by coverity.
<ePirat>
its already the second time someone introduced such an issue, I wonder if configure lacks something to make GCC warn about this or something…

and yeah, gcc doesn't complain
<ePirat>
well coverity alerted me to it in the first place, so thanks to coverity, I guess :D
