Jesus, those Europeans! Somebody told me "have you seen that Trump won?" I replied with "yes", Them: "what do you think about it?" Me: "I think it's great!" Them *in shock* "but he's a stupid, crazy bafoon!" Me: "look, he was president for 4 years already, what exactly did he do to be seen as such?", Them *deep silence* "let's change subject, shall we?"
<remiliascarlet>
They're really like "the government cuck on TV says so, therefore it's the actual truth!".
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: I was talking to two Russians on Saturday night. One hates Putin and the other loves Putin.
<SiFuh_>
They are friends. But the contrast on opinions was extremely polar. ;-) But they never argued. I gave them my opinion on Putin and they both agreed with me.
<remiliascarlet>
I'd much rather talk to those kinds of people.
<remiliascarlet>
"Yeah, I don't agree, but that's OK.", not like "You disagree with me? Are you a fucking nutcase or some shit!"
<SiFuh_>
They got kicked out of the bar because the owner hates Russians. They are like super young. I took them for a walk to Changut to find a place where they can eat, find girls and drink beer. Then walked back to the bar to finish my beer.
<remiliascarlet>
Well, not all Europeans are the same. In some cases, instead of getting silent for a while and not answering my question, they'd answer with things like "he said racist things against black people". Then I ask them to show any evidence of that, only to be unable to do so.
<SiFuh_>
It was pretty easier explaining to them "You hate Putin, and you like Putin, for what ever reasons you have. I dislike that he is a politician but look how much Russia has changed 'for the good' since he has been in"
<remiliascarlet>
I actually agree with that.
<SiFuh_>
They both knodded and said "Yeah"
<remiliascarlet>
All the stuff that made Russia bad was done by western politicians.
<SiFuh_>
Yes, and Yeltsin was against that. So he hand picked Putin to fix it.
<remiliascarlet>
The funniest part was that back in 2022 when the entire western world at the same time decided to cancel Russia, all that has done was making piracy great again, and making Putin look for alternatives closeby.
<remiliascarlet>
"No Russian cinema, you can't show this movie because of Ukraine!" "Alright, then we'll just torrent it then." "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"
<SiFuh_>
The funniest part was he showed VP Biden whose boss. Hahaha
<SiFuh_>
remiliascarlet: A friend of mine that worked in Russia told me this story way before the book mentioning it was released. Here is the section from the book https://dpaste.com/FAMKACXEK.txt
<remiliascarlet>
Should have said "durak" instead of "blyat" to have it make more sense.
<SiFuh_>
There was another story when Putin wasn't president. He was called in by the Russian Parliment and asked about an American deal and to handle it. The Americans came in with a document and a lot of money to be able to buy the deal. They didn't know who Putin was at that time. Putin sat down and started reading the document. The Americans tried to cut him off to offer money. But Putin interupted them
<SiFuh_>
and told them to sit down and be silent. He spent the entire time reading every page of the document then stood up and said "This doesn't support Russian interests" and walked out.

What I do disagree with him on is that he regularly says that Linux is useless without Wine. Linux without Wine is only useless if you're either a gamer, or a Windows user who refuses to look into alternative software.
