so peaceful, people must be enjoying their lisp-zen-time right now
<Equill>
Not me. I'm taking a break from studing Semantic Web standards, to work on some music. I get lisp-zen-time once I've absorbed what I need from the standards.

I find the "Quick restart of session" part especially useful at times, for instance if I'm editing tests I can run the tests in a fresh image at the push of a button, or if I'm doing something that frequently messes up the state of the image.
<pve>
True lispers will of course scoff at the notion of restarting lisp all the time :)
<beach>
Unfortunately, it is very easy to mess up the image.
<jackdaniel>
since we play the no true scotsman game I will chip in with an observation, that common lisp was defined first and foremost to be practical, so if someone finds it practical to restart the program to have a clean slate environment and doesn't do that for a sole sake of being pure, that person is not a true lisper :)
<pve>
I often hit the restart button just to get rid of unwanted methods or functions, i.e. things that I've deleted from the buffer but are still present in the image.
<pve>
Well, maybe not often, but sometimes.

I am trying to build an application based on SBCL that needs an extremely large memory allocation. I was using Xach's buildapp. there's a `--dynamic-space-size` option for buildapp, but it seems like it's only for the application *builder*, not for the application itself (at least I *think* that's what's going wrong). Anyone know how to make an application with a large memory size?
<NotThatRPG>
It looks like buildapp will use SBCL's `:save-runtime-options`. I wonder if it has the same constraints on argument ordering and that's why I'm not seeing this carry over.

OK, I believe I have found the problem: SBCL is stripping off `--dynamic-space-size` before buildapp can see it, so it does not get passed through properly.
