<DC-IRC> <selimrecep> hey there, i am planning to flash my opi 3 lts next week, which armbian you folks recommend, i only need cli, some docker stuff, usb with hard drive connected, and small web server
<DC-IRC> <selimrecep> has anybody have experience with this board, i dont need fancy features on the OS i just need it to work 😁
<DC-IRC> <selimrecep> I ve read Armbian 23 is less stable than 22 one but that is probably just that it is latest posts on the forum
<DC-IRC> <selimrecep> I ve read Armbian 23 is less stable than 22 one (for opi 3 lts) but that is probably just that it is latest posts on the forum
<DC-IRC> <igorpec> grab latest, we fixed some bugs last week
<DC-IRC> <viraniac> 23.8 works fine for me but some users has reported that ethernet doesn't work for them. We have merged a fix for that as well, but that is currently available from our beta (beta.armbian.com) repository. Also sometimes if you reboot, u-boot fails to detect ram correctly. Problem fixes itself on reboot that you can do either by pressing the power button for like 10 seconds to shut <clipped message>
<DC-IRC> <viraniac> down and then another 5 seconds to boot again. Or you can just unplug and plug back the power. It becomes fine after reboot. I am investigating that issue, but it might take some time to fix. Other than these two small hiccups, every thing seems pretty stable to me.

<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> I'm using armbian i3 and i3 is kinda weird...
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> For example the way of moving the windows is legit RETARDED
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> So i wanted to have 4 windows in total. 2 vertical ones on the left and 2 windows on the right BUT! the right ones are horizontal and stacked on top of each other...
<DC-IRC> <igorpec> you do understand that i3 desktop is developed by people that have no relation to armbian?
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> OH is this so ohh ok
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> So this is ONLY where people can talk ONLY about the armbian distro itself
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> Explain this then
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> why is he allowed to talk about his SBC that isn't Armbian related
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> and also not dev by armbian team
<DC-IRC> <igorpec> you are allowed to talk ;9
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> So why me talking about i3 is bad...
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> and his aint
<DC-IRC> <igorpec> just saying that there are no i3 desktop developers that would listen
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> NO you don't get
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> NO you don't get it
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> Someone said something here about wayland i3
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> no idea who what where
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> but here
<DC-IRC> <igorpec> i know nothing about i3 so its notthing to get
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> mkay
<DC-IRC> <igorpec> i think waland variant is called sway
<DC-IRC> <viraniac> yeah, I will rework ethernet for orangi pi 3 (Non LTS) and Orange Pi One+ based on latest jernej's patches from here - https://github.com/LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv/pull/8132

<DC-IRC> <terrorpup> If I am taking here I am talking Armbian, now the RISC-V board should have been off-topic sorry, Tenkawa ask me me here, going forward I will make sure I am on topic
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> We "are" trying to get Armbian working on that board correctly so do not complain about people asking relevant questions that are needed to help collect information for that effort.
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> We "are" trying to get Armbian working on that board correctly so do not complain about people asking relevant questions that are needed to help collect information for that effort.
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> So actually we are
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> I don't mind it, i was just mentioning it
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> Yes... you complained
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> And it was not appropriate
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> My argument would be, you are allowing people to directly download Armbian with i3.
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> I wanted to explain my issue and ask something, but instead I was told that it's not "i3 discord server"
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> i3 has nothing to do with what you said to Terrorpup
<DC-IRC> <tenkawa42> And no.. i3 is a user piece of software... if you want it.. install it
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> Not sure what you issue is at this moment
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> I was talking to @igorpec he stated his side I did mine and it was done... now you come out of nowhere with some issues that has been forgotten
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> If I'm such a big trouble ban be, done... no need to be so childish like someone took your toy in a kindergarden
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> I was told, this is about Armbian not i3 done
<DC-IRC> <0xdamian> I'm not 12yo I'm 29 I understand my friend

<DC-IRC> <_enez7> Hey, hi, I am not sure if this goes here but I am kinda desperated
<DC-IRC> <_enez7> Today I had a dual boot between win11 and ubuntu, today is my first day in ubuntu as well. I liked it so I decided to fully transition to ubuntu and get rid of windows. Previous clean, I was able to connect my laptop to an external monitor and it worked fine. After the whole installation, it stopped working for no reason
<DC-IRC> <_enez7> Google wasn't helpful at all. I asked at askubuntu https://askubuntu.com/questions/1486891/second-monitor-not-detected-after-ubuntu-22-04-3-lts-reinstallation-with-hdmi-to if you want to check it out
<DC-IRC> <_enez7> Maybe this is not the correct server but I work with two monitors for I am developing web apps, I really need this
