<Nickli> was looking into how to fix PTT for mumble (global hotkey with activate and release functionality) and at a surface glance i think i could make it work with wtype or swhkd, not sure how i'd combine wtype to work in concert with the river config

<upsala> Hi, I'm having some issues mapping some buttons on my elcom huge trackball. Ideally i would want to have one of the buttons, namely "BTN_TASK" be BTN_MIDDLE but I can't figure out how to do this. To make my issue a bit clearer, `riverctl map-pointer` can't do this right? It can only map an action or a riverctl command to the button, not another
<upsala> button?
<ifreund> thats correct
<upsala> Do you have a suggestion for me on how to do this?
<ifreund> I think udev might be able to do what you want
<upsala> alright, arch wiki should probably have something on that, I'll look into that
<upsala> thanks
<ifreund> no problem, good luck!
<upsala> Ah there's a tool "input-remapper" that does exactly what I want

<AtomToast> Heyho I have this extremely weird issue with my modifiers and I'm not sure if it's a bug with river or anything else. For some reason some shortcuts just don't work if I use a specific combination of left and right modifiers. For example Super_R+Shift_R+T does not work as a shortcut. It also doesn't type out the character or show up in any way in
<AtomToast> wev. Another example is Super_R+Shift_L+E. Any other combination like Super_R+Shift_R+E or Super_L+Shift_R+T works. So far I have just been working around it but it is quite annoying and I can't figure out what causes this

<leon-p> AtomToast: it might be possible that your keyboard is physically incapable to recognize these three keys pressed at the same time. In fact most keyboards have such deadzones
