yeah, don't think anything prevents you from 1-4 being output(screen) 1: and 5-7 being outpute 2:
<Nickli>
*binding tag keybinds
<Nickli>
and you have potential 32 tags per output

Hmm since yesterday all my windows are floating and I can't toggle it anymore. Anyone know what this could be?
<upsala>
nvm figured out what the issue is. rivercarro doesn't work anymore for some reason, rivertile works
<upsala>
nvm again, changed my shell and forget to update the PATH so it just couldn't find it.

Hey! I have FL Studio (DAW) installed via Bottles as a Flatpak on my system. The program uses movable, smaller windows inside the main window. However, these cannot be moved in river. Did anybody have the same issue and manage to solve it? Other DAWs probably experience the same issue. I found this sway issue, but it didn't help out.
<Guest14>
The main window controls don't work either: close, minimize and exit. I have to kill the process...
<ifreund>
sounds like some terrible X11 hack :/
<ifreund>
Reaper and Bitwig have both worked quite well for me fwiw
<Nickli>
isnt a wayland protocol in the talks about how to do that?
<Guest14>
ifreund it "kind of" worked once I set a fixed rendering window size inside of bottles. It creates a virtual desktop with the only program installed being FL Studio. I can close FL Studio and land back inside that virtual desktop, but I cannot quit the virtual desktop D:
<Guest14>
such a pain...
<ifreund>
windows deciding their own absolute position indeed causes nothing but headaches :/

Nickli: no, that is for multi-window applications (also a miserable UI design choice, but whatever). if you want sub-windows _inside_ a main window, so basically the main window acting like a desktop for the applications small windows, you don't need any special protocol support, you can already do that
<leon-p>
funnily, X11 actualyy does have extra protocol bits for that usecase for whatever reason, but no one ever used them AFAIK
