<leon-p> nice, float rules for firefox's PiP video thingy work again. They will probably break next update again, but I'll take my ten days of bliss...

<Guest77> Hi everyone, does anyone know if it is possible to achieve a centered layout (first main window spawned in the center) and then open the rest of them to the right or left?
<Guest77> (I forgot to mention using rivertile)
<novakane> Guest77: not possible with rivertile, you need an other layer generator
<novakane> I don't know which one can do that though
<Guest77> Thanks for the info! Yeah reading the man pages I thought so but never know there is any trick around. I'll have a look at kile but I have seen the wiki isn't that intuitive (at least for me)
<LarstiQ> Guest77: so first window takes entire screen, adding a second window it goes to the right and splits the screen, third window goes to the left and splits to a third and from then on the left/right lanes get divided horizontally? Or what's the logic
<Guest77> LarstiQ I'm on a 21:9 monitor, I was looking for a centered main window not taking the whole screen (max window width) and then having the other spawing to either left or right. Herbleftwm is on X11 but it does what i want to do
<LarstiQ> ah, so starting in the middle third?
<LarstiQ> shouldn't be too hard to do in https://git.sr.ht/~leon_plickat/riverguile/
<Guest77> correct, having a main browser window or anything else taking the whole screen it is not that comfy I know should have taken a 21:9 if I wanted to use a wm -.-"
<Guest77> shouldn't, pardon
<Guest77> basically to explain you my workflow, I mostly run a virtualbox, browser or whatever I need in the center and cycle them. Then a terminal editor on the right and just a terminal in case I need to do something quick. Thanks a lot guys, I check and see if there is anything I can do with what you have suggested
<dagle> It's not very hard to implement imo.
<Guest77> I'm not a dev unfortunately, I'm scripting a lot to automate some stuff for me at work but I don't know if I'm able to make a "good" code for a possible layout myself. Now I'll try to use any of the layout generator suggested in the mean time I can see if there is something I can came up with. But I do really like riverwm which is going to be my
<Guest77> main drive on my laptop

<LarstiQ> how are you doing the migration? I remember a tool we used had mitigations for the rate limiting

<ifreund> LarstiQ: using codeberg's builtin migration tool

<LarstiQ> ah, seems that needs some work then

<ifreund> yeah, it feels a little janky
<ifreund> it made progress when I restarted it but failed on some error when migrating the releases
<ifreund> currently retrying from scratch without migrating the releases, I can do those by hand without too much pain

<novakane> 🎉
<novakane> so I can officially change my upstream remote ?
<ifreund> yep, everything should be done except the wiki and releases
<ifreund> I'll get to those later today or tomorrow
<novakane> nice!
