<leon-p> have we decided on a logo from the OR yet? Kinda thinking about getting one printed as a patch for my concert jacket
<leon-p> *PR
<lordmzte> What PR?
<leon-p> lordmzte: actually it's an issue not a PR. Search for "logo"
<lordmzte> huh, a lot of nice suggestions.

<lordmzte> Has anyone else been experiencing "flickering" in river, where windows would momentarily go entirely black? This seems to happen when applications don't renderer, for example due to a game lagging, in which case it would flicker (had this happen with the game noita) or, in a way more reproducible way, this also happens sometimes (really
<lordmzte> inconsistently) with the mpv media player when it's paused. This has never happened for me under hyprland on the same hardware, but do note that I use an nvidia GPU so that may very well be responsible for this.
<adamcstephens> doesn’t hyprland use a patched wlroots?
<lordmzte> I believe so, yes.
<iiogama> I haven't ran into that, but I'm on an AMD GPU.
<lordmzte> It's probably an nvidia thing then.

<leon-p> Are we really at the point where that project rather vendors wlroots than send patches upstream?
<vimproved> it's hyprland we're talking about
<vimproved> they bundle wlroots because of the constant API breaks iirc but they may have patched it too
<lordmzte> This may well be patched upstream, but I can reproduce it on WLR 0.17.1 (haven't restarted yet after updating to river on 0.17.2)

<ifreund> lordmzte: indeed, that sounds like an nvidia thing :/
<ifreund> I've heard nvk + zink is the future

<adamcstephens> River master on my 3060 definitely has flickering and other issues. I haven’t tested it with wlroots 0.17.2 yet either.
