<jimwilson> leah2, palmer the gcc compiler farm has two Unmatched boards, but they have been sitting on them for a while, maybe they don't know how to set them up to work with the compile farm?
<leah2> should be straight forward, unless they have working ears :p
<jimwilson> the Chinese Academy of Sciences has a board farm with a few hundred boards that is remotely accessible, must be a RVI member to access it, frequently mentioned in the RISC-V Open Hours meetings
<muurkha> nice
<muurkha> probably not completely useful for intrigus (who is gone anyway)
prabhakarlad has quit [Quit: Client closed]
<jimwilson> see https://github.com/plctlab/riscv-lab-access to get access
<jimwilson> RISC-V Open Hours meeting slides, see page 29, https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1zkK5dSbZwb9ganHxQZMw_Df1hSU0mWPsCN6G7ZT_gTA/edit#slide=id.gf3474a11d4_54_0
<jimwilson> these are original plans, since SiFive stopped making Unmatched they won't hit the 500 number, but I think they do have over 100 of them
<muurkha> oh neat, but you have to be an RVI member?
kaph has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<courmisch> I have no clue about hardware, but I don't suppose that performance numbers on a given design relate much to the ISA
<jimwilson> yes, as per original plans, they wanted to use RVI to help manage access, they are also a development partner with RVI
<courmisch> especially when there are so completely different designs as in RV
<jimwilson> plans might have changed, you can ask
<jimwilson> leah2, the lack of remote reboot would be a problem, that can be fixed with a remote controlled relay, maybe also an issue with finding a stable distro that they can just install that already has all of the software they need

<leah2> i think my kernel crashes instead of rebooting, but i sit next to the power switch :p

<drmpeg> Remote re-boot works on Unmatched now. But you need the current OpenSBI and Linux 5.17 (or a patched kernel).
<leah2> yeah i should update it
<drmpeg> Also boot from SPI eeprom works.
<drmpeg> In u-boot v2022.01

<jrtc27> we were waiting on non-broken firmware the whole time the unmatched was available
<jrtc27> really painful
